We read the archived hotel reviews and were very skeptical, to book this hotel. But it was so bad not at all. Probably the hotel management from the feedback learned and vielverbessert.
The room was clean and the size for the price completely fine. There was however for example a small, old tubes -tv. The breakfast buffet was also okay. There were many asian guests in the hotel accommodated, but that was just in interlaken sunday At least the asian guests still in Switzerland, if the guests from Euro-room stay away.
The hotel is centrally located in interlaken, to the ... train station interlaken ost, base to Grindelwald, to the small Scheidegg and the jungfraujoch you would walk around 15 minutes. From interlaken ost to the jungfraujoch one drives then about 2,5 hours, cost circa 150 Euro, which of course is quite expensive. With good weather is worthwhile the trip nevertheless, since the jungfrau railway in 2012 you 100-year-old are partying and it above on the jungfraujoch sorts of special exhibitions there. read more

We have been regular visitors to the Metropole since 1991 and have always been treated with courtesy by every member of staff throughout the hotel. The breakfast buffet menu is outstanding in variety and quality and the five courses served at dinner are always well presented and good value. The accommodation is spacious and cannot be faulted and affords a wonderful unobstructed panoramic view of the mountains. read more

I think the hotel needs to be refurbished. The furniture at the hall and room looked too worn out. We arrived after 14:00 and had to wait for more than one hour to have the room ready. The women at the desk kept saying that we had to wait just a moment, but kept forgeting about us. Wouldn´t it be nicer to tell the guests to leave the luggage at the hotel and go out for a walk or have a coffee or something to eat, while they prepare the room?.
The cleaning of the room was bad. One ... day I think they only made the beds and little more. They didn´t even take the dirty glasses and empty bottles and didn´t empty the waste basket of the room and of the bathroom.
Only breakfast met my expectations. read more
