I booked very at short notice this hotel and was pleasantly surprised. It lies somewhat remote from the center, as already described, with the tuk tuk for 100 Bhat however easy to reach and more convenient than on foot. The beach is clean and the sea was very warm with 28-30 °. The water is but cloudy and for snorkelling not convenient. The liegenreservierer there was unfortunately again, but i have always a free get, they are but close together. Mostly older were at the time.
I had a double room in the main building, probably the older part on ... the 3. floor with a view of the sea. 2 things were to complain about: the bath tub and the shower head, and the mattress in bed was actually too hard. I have but nevertheless after a couple of days slept well. Every day fresh towels tried in vain to explain that it is not necessary. It is very quiet except if the old air-conditioners before the door walk. Kettle, small refrigerator and safe available. The balcony was very big and not visible from the outside.
The staff was very friendly, english could have been a bit better, however one could inform itself. The restaurant is very nice directly at the beach. The service was very attentive, i was always directly to tea or coffee asked. The buffet was very good, including the good selection of fruit and cereal. Bread is always a problem abroad, but in the supermarket there was also similar bread as with us to buy. I have some male ate there in the evening, however, the kitchen at 21:00 hours i thought that was too early. Of course it is more expensive than in the town however therefor you also have a much nicer and quieter atmosphere.
The best massages does not exist in the hotel but 300 metres further peters restaurant, definitely recommendable, good and cheap.
You can at the beach also to the center come, one must be only partially about rocks, but it is a nice walk. read more

Why it so good reviews hails: i do not know!
Nice, it has a really great location at the beach and, as in the hillside was: also very nice. But unfortunately this is not really everything.
The rooms are in terms of size, at least in the side building, really very big and also well equipped; the mattresses new and still not worn out, the tiled floor still in very good condition, a b e r: you should the walls, before they wallpapered ..., white paint, so that the competence of the mold not so shines through. Also would be new bedsteads and borders have been good. Just übermalen helps not always. Air-conditioning devices should also be cleaned, not only the grid wipe. After the first night we have the room changed, because the stench from the ka to great was. After the 4. visit we have for a room on the ground floor the building firm. The ka was not great, but we could the window far enough open and then had, from the 3. day, a fly screen. The size of the cupboard was sufficient and musty. The bathroom large and well equipped, however because of to short shower curtain regularly flooded.
The service was really great what concerns the cleanliness! The lady has great effort and there were nothing to complain about!
An added bonus was, that we directly in front of our balcony sun screen and loungers had. From here it was then 50 meters on the lawn to the water and we had to us not the 06,30 h-terrorism of the -loungers-by -towel-belegens sacrifice. This was in the morning always a funny spectacle, which we really enjoyed! No honest, was great, as at noon then people argue, because 'their' couch suddenly was occupied.
The pool (lol) was only twice briefly used, because simply too many other aborigines (crabs, flies and other) it already occupied had. The pool-service could there not much to do, because it always was, the definitely swim had, if he to clean (in the morning at 06,30 h)!
On fresh drinks/ cocktailsan the beach bar we did, after the mixer, the sink and the tropfablage because of the beautiful marbling admired had, but said, the mold was. The blender was exchanged, that was all. We reminded us, that we bottle-fed babies are.
The service the staff was always friendly, quick and accommodating, if you from the head waiter driven were. Apart from that is dragons-rise-leave a little very nice. Drink orders can turn out there already times to wait. In content and the working time i would also seek out a niche market!

The sunset Khao Lak is located at the end the sunset beaches with a wonderful view of the beach and sea. The hotel complex respectively the outdoor area are very well maintained and offers a very good feel-good atmosphere.
My deluxe -apartment to the single room was absolutely well equipped:
Tiled floor, big closet with a safe ( free ), bathrobe, bathing shoe, umbrella, loundry -service, big lcd tv ( only dw and true movie ), mini bar ( not filled ), wi-fi ( subject to a charge, 30 minutes 60 Bhat, 1 hour 100 Bhat), air conditioning, lounge pull ... out, large double bed, enough light and sockets in the room, large bathroom with window to the room area and window on the sea ( by blinds blacked out ), bath tub handheld shower, shower with rain showers, washbasin and large mirror, small shelf space, shower gel, shampoo, toiletries, plenty of towels, beach towels (blue ), balcony with wooden chairs and holzstisch and a fantastic view over beach, pool, garden area and sea!
The employees at the reception was extremely friendly and competent - the gm is German and very much concerned for the well being of the guests!
Very recommendable resort - however it was within walking distance was about 20 minutes to to the center - but by taxi in couple minutes for the 100 to 150 Bhat reachable. A small supermarket there are at the front desk, for the small purchase, if you don't to the center drive to. Room service and massages are offered as well. Was the 4. time in this hotel, this time in the super deluxe room, this section was 2009 again cultivated. Huge room with a view of the sea, also from the bath. Positive: every wish was fulfilled, a reading lamp (the big lamps over the bed were rather headlights) was on the next day laid out. As a week long the wifi didn't work, i have the money back to get. When it worked, it was a week long free. The employees were always friendly and efficient.
Negative: in the bathroom was missing a ventilation, one must thus always the ... door to the bedroom open, so that the air can exchanges. The holiday loi krathong all surrounding hotels in the evening ceremony with buffet and culture offered, unfortunately our hotel is not. A shame, because the kitchen is not bad. We have some times warm meal.

In the large and gGanzen we were satisfied. In the room it was sometimes very lait, since before each door of the generator from the air conditioning of the underlying process. The decor was quite old. The closet you couldn't use it, because he through moisture very musty smell. The breakfast was okay. We once in the hotel dinner, that was very good and totally ... romantic. Directly at the beach under palm trees, as the Maldives. From the sea we were a bit disappointed. There was no possibility to snorkeling. No fish or coral. The sea had 32 degrees. Thus was on some days lion's Mane jellyfish. Some swimmer had correct burns from the quallen, the hotel staff had.
To the town it was about 20 minutes one had in addition to the street but deferred on a pavement go. The best you could in 2 small eating house quite at the end of town food. For 2 people you paid for 2 soups, 2 main courses and 2 drinks converted 4 euros.
During our travels it was very hot. Every day around the 38 degrees. Whereas it in the first week every afternoon rained briefly. In the second week was then always sunshine.
I would anytime again to Thailand flies, but rather in January and on an island. Because Khao Lak is actually a town which only for tourists was built. read more

The hillside hotel has 3 houses; all rooms have view of the sea. Behind the complex begins, only by a street separately, the jungle. Every evening begins the 'concert' of animals. In the early morning daily the small pool cleaned. The food there is a open restaurant, from the the sea can see. Already for breakfast, there is daily changing delicious warm Thai food. Of course different kinds of bread, cakes, muesli, eggs in all variations,3 types of sausage, cheese and much fresh fruit. It is always refilled. Who half board booked, select from a Spezialkarte with appetizer, main ... course and dessert. Everything is freshly prepared and is very good taste. Free of charge there were (in 3 weeks)2 time Thai massage and 2 times wine at dinner.
In the small town of Khao Lak is about 20 minutes. Or you can go with a 'coach', but you pay for 2 people 100 THB. In the evening usually one at the hotel, in case not, just in the street wave!
Mo, mile and SA is about 14 until 19 o'clock a weekly market; there one drives with the bus for 150 THB. The SA sell the children the Waisenhausschule ( children, during the tsunami the lost parents) even baked cookies and bread, something for the donate finance house to earn. One was pleased also about a small Extragabe (beach is at the start of the market).
Our excursions we have in place with high light tours (near Mc Donalds ). We were very satisfied; German spoken, the group is small and the price is TRUE.
A special experience was the cabaret show at 'Moo Moo'. Over 2 hours there was chorus line with the ' Ladyboys ' in great Costumes. Beginning 21 hours; free entrance; the drinks for a bit 'more expensive' (200 THB). Mister Moo Moo, the boss, strongly supports the Waisenhausschule and at the weekend apply of children on, the one for its performance reward can.

We as a family of three family had a deluxe room booked. Since however at the time of our arrival none more available was, we were given a free upgrade to a junior suite. The we thought of course great.
This was very spacious with a sitting area, consisting of a triple couch and two Einzelsesseln, as well as a table.
The beds were a double and a single bed, we are mattresses as quite hard felt. The closet smelled a bit musty.
All together we were but with our clean rooms satisfied.
The towels were changed daily, also fresh ..., blue beach towels in the bathroom were

We have amongst others also a trip in the Asia safari elephant trekking Khao Lak with a visit of the zoo made. Running time from the hotel from about 10 minutes. The zoo was rather disappointing. Entry 400 Baht. There are a handful of monkeys, chickens, peacock, crocodiles, a kind of otter, turtles and two iguanas. Already alone the attitude of animals actually sorry.
For the elephant we had to leave for an hour 2000 Baht pay.
