The rooms are large and very clean. The room was 1 times cleaned daily and in the evening was once again asked, whether something is needed-great value-. The all-inclusive offer was perfect. There were tourists from different nationalities.

The hotel is already a bit older and also assigns renovation nece on. Our room, 333, was very nice, with separate bathroom and a separate shower, unfortunately there was a sheet on the roof, which depending on the wind direction tons of noise. The four and a half stars are a bit high in relation to the food always in relation to the loungers/umbrellas in the garden (beach chairs & umbrellas you can by the pool crew and daily tip well), it is no three stars hotel. Unfortunately the staff in the restaurant except a few exceptions very inefficient. Probably, because the english language not are capable of. An ashtray or a missing cover can one every now and then to infinity wait. (very inattentive staff). The beach loves a right in front of the hotel, but through a fence from the hotel separately. You can easily go out, but for chairs on the beach or the day at the beach spend, is this hotel unfortunately not. Next to the hotel is the beach not well-kept (very dirty). For a 5 star hotel it offers unfortunately very ... little service and friendliness (as mentioned, a few waiters, shall ensure, that something good), it was during our travels - the beginning of the season-the baustele in the hotel not ready. read more

Very beautiful hotel next to indian ocean. Very clean, big room. The staff are very accommodating and very friendly without being intrusive. The dishes in the restaurant are with a lot of love and creativity prepared. Every evening under a other motto, there is also a large selection for vegetarians and people a certain diet.
Shops are in the immediate vicinity, these shops are but purely on the vacationers coordinated. It is worthwhile with the train or with the bus into the inland to drive or on the markets. Pure adventure and you get to know the amazing friendliness the ... people know there. We have in the morning a Ayurveda treatment made, in a private establishment, the relatively new. Known as' sethravan Ayurveda health resort '.
It is with the small trains approximately 10 minutes out. It is located wonderful in the middle of by rice fields and is really recommendable.

The hotel is unfortunately apparently ageing and if you are one of the old room shall, you will feast, that the expectations a 4 (, 5) stars -hotel not be met. If you don't the whole time in the hotel anyway, for the hotel is very good. All inclusive not necessary!
Evening -entertainment was a bit meager, pool animation is passive-we found pleasant.
Children have neither an animation and also the food could use a small child corner brook!
Staff are friendly and makes every effort, but unfortunately is the whole system obsolete, despite the latest technikmöglichkeiten in Sri Lanka. ( management asked) read more

Very nice hotel with sophisticated equipment and great service!
You are looking for a quiet hotel with guarantee for relaxation you are in the right place here.
Ideal location at the beach.
Catering and evening events always offered and diverse.
Extremely friendly staff.
Only drawback, at the check-in and check out rather inflexible what the, check out times are concerned, you get then at least juices during the waiting time free but apart from that it is not understandable 2 hours to be room to wait.
Overall a great hotel with beautiful flair and excellent pool. read more

A really recommendable hotel with minor flaws. The structure is because of the age quite taken but meticulous and self-sacrificing improved.
The staff are always in order to achieve all responds hard, prods however when human understaffing from time to time to their limits.
Big praise to the cooking. A varied offer. Regional cuisine, themed buffet or vegetarian meals every taste comes at its expense.
Unfortunately somewhat little sun screens by the pool, however you will find in the extensive garden always a shady spot.
For us they didn't get in any case a second attendance are worth. read more

The hotel are really very nice and the staff very concerned especially if it give a tip. The rooms were 5 to 10 times per day cleaned (exaggerated!) unfortunately has never the bed linen changed, and as it was damp in the rooms was ( the water stood on mirror and on the floor) were also the textiles damp and musty our bedspread smelled rots and damp also at the walls was already mold. That is what we in the monsoon were there, was also the beach not to use. The waves are Meters high and not even a walk ... at the banks was possible, because one with the feet einsank, if the water came, and so deep, that you had to get out. Unfortunately were at this time ( low season) no excursions offered, therefore limited our vacation on pool, pool and pool! Quite monotonous and bland. read more

We had a freshly renovated room ( number 120). This rooms are very nice, particularly the bathroom with walk-in shower speaks for itself. Our friend had an older room ( with bath tub) also reasonable, but already 15-years-old.
The hotel is very beautiful, 3 restaurants ( Japanese, Orien, buffet). The selection is very good and also the beverage prices are reasonable ( Tin Cola 2,00 Euro, Mojito 5,00 Euro, Caipirinha 7,00 Euro, Bottle of wine 20,00 Euro). All inclusive worth it definitely not, since the good cocktails also it must be paid. Dinner in the buffet ... restaurant 20,00 Euro, Japanese rather 10,00 Euro, Orient 10 to 15 Euro. We would not half board from at home book, as always buffet also a bit boring and Japanese and orient extra charge demand, even though they actually cheaper!
Next to the hotels a few small stalls, recommendable is paradise, older lady cooks very well and to order there is also a large fish.
We found the hotel to isolated, since kalutara city nothing has to offer. In comparison to Thailand the beach too expensive!
You have a limit of 40000 rupees per room ( about 250 €), then asked the Rchnung to pay! In the evening before departure is the mini bar shut up!
Breakfast is in night as well at 3:00 o'clock serves (very nice), but the waiter waiting on the doorstep and 15 minutes before departure he will pick you up everything, since probably much stolen would? I think, German guests steal no mugs and plates, and on the round trip the minibar always open. For 5 stars this is a rather poor service. The hotel is OK, but the next time we would probably nevertheless rather after bentota/ Beruweila drive (Lanka Princess) or better Thailand. read more

We were the 1st time on Sri Lanka. This is a tropical paradise on Indian ocean. No matter wether you beach vacation, go on excursions or Ayurveda to know learn would like, here one comes on its costs. The people are very nice and sociable. We came mainly for Ayurveda ( the old Indian Heillehre ) here. Here it is exactly authentic like in India practiced. You can and should also for massages from the hotels herausgen, as are the massages often much reasonably priced as in the hotels. When you with the car or small trains in other places ..., one could see much. There are some interesting temples, which should not be missed.

Enough big room with everything that you need. Breakfast and dinner good and varied, all inclusive definitely not necessary. We were in the morning at 8 o'clock already there and could not have breakfast. The same on the day of departure. Although the hotel not even was half full, we had to our room lunch rooms, but were only at 23 o'clock picked up. Despite repeated Ask at the front desk there was no mercy. The sea was 2 weeks long quite anxious ( every day red Flag ). The beach is rather garbage, like the whole island. We were ... four days long in national parks, Kandy etc. Was very interesting, but the long driving is a real horror. For 100 kilometer you have to at least 3 hours calculate. Mentioned, one was constantly occupied and everywhere, this is pure annoying thing. Sri Lanka is worth a trip, a second time but we would not go back. read more
