Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotels we stayed in during our Australia tour. The hotel is getting old. We had a window in the room, but it was only other exterior of the hotel. As a result, we felt like in a cupboard. There was also the condition of the small bathroom. Our conclusion: never again read more

Mercure welcome Melbourne Verdi ennt hotel at the most two stars! Except for the very friendly staff and very good location, there is nothing good to say about this hotel. The rooms are small and dark. The passing on the ceiling pipes are covered with dust. If you want a cheap hotel in the heart of Melbourne searches, it is 1-2 nights bear safe, but not necessarily feel comfortable. read more

The Mercure shares with the Swanston Hotel a front desk. It is a high rise with 12 floors and 2 elevators. The hotel made a nice impression, everything was clean. However you already at the beginning of a problem when coming by car. There is no parking, except for valet parking for 35 $ per day. In front of the hotel there is a loading zone, the but constantly from coaches blocked. Of course there are other offered by the hotel parking for 15 $ a day. However this parking garage is about 10 minute walk away, with bags, right ... through the city center is not an easy task. We have 80 Euro per night incl. breakfast for a double room. read more

Unfortunately, the rooms are the worst we have ever seen in a Mercure. The only great thing was the bed, which is very cozy. The carpet is not really moved around the edges, so you on the dirt and can see the concrete. The bathroom was moldy in the corners of the tub. The tubes of the toilet was not cleaned. The other furniture was ok: desk, bedside tables, open closet, TV, refrigerator, air conditioning. I would next time a bit more money and stay somewhere else.

We used the restaurant for breakfast only. The breakfast was buffet style and very good. There was everything you need: toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, hash browns, baked tomatoes, muesli, cornflakes, lots of fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juices, jam, peanut butter. Sometimes the hotel staff came with the clearing of the tables not afterwards. Cheese and meat platters are not common in Australia.

The service was okay. The staff is very nice, the staff at the front desk, as well as the room cleaning. We were in need of a little print what the reception immediately taken over for us. A prepaid breakfast was handed us than breakfast bag (I am sorry that this only a small packet of orange juice, a small packet of cereal and milk, a Plastikschale and a plastic spoons and a mini-riegel: a bit boring for 18 AUD per person). For us kindly reception booked shuttle bus to the airport. Unfortunately this was never, which meant that we finally had to take an expensive taxi. The guest laundry costs 4 AUD per load and 2 AUD for detergent.

The location is great! It is in the middle of the city center. Across the road to the start Chinatown, a small supermarket is also only across the street.
