Very good value for money, beautiful, flowering garden with palms, pool business excellent included bar and Snackbetrieb. Best beaches however approximately 15 to 30 minutes away-minute drive. Transfer time from Heraklion 90 minutes (shared taxi recommendable). Southernmost city Europe's. Good entertained hotel infrastructure. Ev. On the downside: cafeteria, self-service. ( however varied offer with good selection and combinations ) drinks included ( red/white wine) Recommendable included Tagesvollpension. read more

The hotel from outside looks very nice, the garden and surroundings around the pool are well kept. However, the service, rooms and food do not meet the standards of a 4star hotel with all inclusive. Very bad surprise was the strong wind which started after first 2 calm days and lasted for next 5 days - it was impossible to swim in the sea on the beach under the hotel, sometimes it was difficult to walk from the hotel entrance to the car, all our clothes on the balcony were blown away during the night. The wind was also on ... other places, but not so strong like on the hill where hotel is located. read more

    We had a 3 bed room + 1 extra bed for child and it was quite small - when u put there 4 suitcases you have a problem to cross the room... The bathroom equipment and cleanliness was quite poor - no shower just old bath tub, towels exchanged only every 2nd day, ours were exchanged for the first time on the 3rd day after arrival after complaining at the reception (the receptionist even didnt believe our complaint and we had to argue! - at 4-star hotel they should appreciate their guests more), toilet not cleaned properly, one day our trashbin was not even cleaned (and imagine to stay 2 days with a full trashbin of dirty toilet papers as in the all Crete u cannot put the toilet paper into the toilet because of narrow canalization tubes)

    We had the all inclusive stay (but their idea of all inclusive was much different from our). The food very good (they were changing the part of the dishes every day for lunch and dinner, different types of meat, pasta, vegetables, very good salads, though there was just little fruits and tasteless icecream) The breakfast is from 7 to 9,30, lunch from 12,30 to 14, dinner from 19 to 21 served asa buffet. Apart from these there is not any real food available for the guests (chips and cookies and the pool bar dont count in my opinion). The worst shock for me was that the waiters are starting to take away the food from the buffets even 5 minutes before the end of the dinner time and if you come 5 minutes after the end (e.g. 21,05) there will be no food left and they will just leave you hungry!!! (absolutely not acceptable at 4-star hotel where there no other dining possibilities in and around the hotel). Drinks at the hotel are another story - during, breakfest, lunch and dinner there are juices (mixed with water I would say), some weird lemonades, wine and strangely smelling beer. The machines with drinks are being locked outside the breakfest, lunch dinner hours! So your only possibility to get drink is the pool bar which however open at 11 in the morning and closes already at 23. Important to mention that if you want a better cocktail like Mojito or a better coffee (frappe) you have to pay for it. It happened to me once that I ordered a drink in this bar at 22,55, the waiter was waiting until 23,00 and serving another drinks to other people and than telling me he will not give me the drink as it is too late already! There is also the possiblity to buy water at the reception - costs 1 euro for the bottle which costs 30 cents in supermarket. If you wanna make a whole day trip they are not willing to pack you any lunch for free (although in many other hotels they do it when you have all inclusive) - you have to pay 2 euro for 2 sendwiches and water and you have to tell them in advance - the evening before until 20,00 otherwise they are not able to prepare it for you!

    Our impression was that the hotel personnel doesnt care and doesnt make any effort to make you satisfied and your stay enjoyable. At least they speak English (basic but you can understand), however they seem quite bothered at the reception when you dare to complain about something. I stayed already in many hotels in different countries in Europe (mostly with less stars!) but such attitude to the guests I have never experienced.

    The swimming pool was very nice, deep from 1,00 to cca 1,50m - very good for smaller children - beds and sun umbrellas for free around the pool. Their so called fittness inside the hotel is one small room with 2 or 3 exercise machines. Noone would get me inside their "jacuzzi" alive (it was one small dirty massage bathing tube). There is no entertainment at the hotel (I dont count the music at the pool bar as entertainment) - no program, no animators, nothing. The nearest entertainment possiblities are in Ierapetra - if u wanna go there in the night you have to go by foot 30 mins there and back.

    Hotel is 10-15 mins of walk away from the beach located on the hill. However in this beach there are quite big stones when entering the sea so its not a good place for swimming - definitely not a good beach for children. The nearest beach good for swimming was at the Ierapetra city - another 10 mins of walking. There was a free shuttle bus to Ierapetra city and back 3 times per day (at 10, 12 and 16) - if you want to stay in the city longer than 16 you have to walk 30 mins by foot back to the hotel. I will never understand the thinking of hotel manager which puts the last bus back to the hotel at 16 when there is absolutely no entertainment at the hotel or around the hotel. Just for your better imagination the bus was a small van with 10-12 places so when more people want to go to the city, you have to wait until it comes back with the first round of people...

We are as a couple for nine nights hotel and had a really relaxing and beautiful holiday. The whole hotel area was very nice and service was good. The rooms are large and very well maintained, the bathroom know minimum mould in the corners on, but to be hurt. The view from the room is perfect. To the beach one must run about 500-1000m, not ☺ The food in the restaurant was good to very good, always on the taste. Only the selection of drinks was a bit too little and most drinks too sweet. Is highly recommended for a ... few days but a rental car, since the hotel is rather remote. The rental car was worth it! Conclusion: beautiful holiday, and the hotel is highly recommended read more

A complex is getting old. The food was repeated every third day. The quality is not true. The al-drinks at the pool bar were not edible, snacks does not exist. The shuttle to the beach or into City costs €per ride, the trips are made only three times per day. all inclusive-drinks until around 23 o'clock is too short, no night visits by Ierapetrea possible, since afterwards no bar in the hotel has open. With a little more sense could arise again a great location. Free shuttle bus to the sixth times a day, beach chairs free of charge, more ... fruits during the meal times and at the pool bar, the more you-power. Varied Food. read more

A former nice the hotel is okay to fine. The claim that you bring for four stars, is not being fulfilled. The ten minute walk on foot in about beach is not really usable, as neglected and rock plates hamper the access. The useful shuttle bus to 16 o'clock last! read more

The hotel was generally in a good condition. The food is a disaster. In 14 days we had at least six to seven times the same dishes in the same position and lower cafeteria level. We stayed in the two weeks always looking after its four stars. read more

We are regular guests in the Arion. past 9 years in a row we spend our holiday in this hotel. Fürdas next year, we already booked. Especially we liked the beautiful views, and the hotel grounds. The beaches of the south offer something. Some are equipped with tavernas, as you could really greek food (for example Galini) equipped with a rental car you always the right, tailor-made beach. read more

Don't understand why the hotel by some guests further recommended: The food on the level of not even * hotel, the shuttle bus service to the beach and 10 km away city is liable to costs, also for all inclusive guests, which is Something that is totally inacceptable. The only thing that was really compliment, is the cleanliness of the room and the housekeeping. In addition, the hotel is located at the southern corner of the islands and duration of the journey is totally unacceptable, because the bus ride from Heraklion airport takes about 1.5 hours. Once and never ... again!!! read more

We stayed at the Arion Palace a wonderfully relaxing week. A small, very well managed hotel and to relax was exactly right. A little off the beaten path, surrounded by olive trees, on a small hill, with a lovely view of the sea. The staff is very friendly, there is no lines at the buffet, the food is rather typical for the country, and very tasty. The hotel is a favorite of French probably very popular, at our time of travel there were mostly French-speaking, pleasant guests. There is no annoying entertainment, there was wrong here. We found it very ... enjoyable. So an insider tip for guests looking for some peace and Erolung, away from the Tourismusrummel. read more

It was a wonderful relaxing holiday, mainly due to the loving and friendly atmosphere of all the staff. Our special gratitude we at the "Speisenträgerin" and the "doctor" at the bar, which always a Kräuterchen for our health for example for the stomach, bereithielt. The rooms were always very clean, and the view by day and by night fantastic. If you are looking for peace and quiet and the Cretan hospitality loves travelers. If you don't always want to eat in the hotel is down on the corner of the driveway to the hotel a very reccomendable tavern.     The room was pretty big and the balcanoy with view on the sea was huge. A perfect working air condition did the rest for the good expression. The rooms were always clean and well cared about. The room had a small mini-bar and a fridge. The safe was in good shape (though we had to pay for it, but as far as i know it is normal and the price was ok too). The bath was very clean as the shower was. A hair dryer could be found aswell. Enough power access we given.

    The quality of the food was quite good as the drinks were, but in my oppinion if go to crete i expect traditional crete food and non international. Another thing was that only the poolbar was opened and not the one at the reception, and the poolbar only offered normal drinks like bear, coke, sparkling water and such, but you hadn't had the chance to get a real cocktail (like pina colada or zombie....)

    We never encountered difficulties with service. Everything we asked for or wanted have was provided as fast as possible my the employees or the management itself.

    The pool was great. It was always kept clean without the usage of tons of chlorine, also the tennis court was quite fine and the quality of the rackets and balls were too, a small billiard table in good shape also made a lot of fun. Though the table tennis and the fittness room didn't match our conceivabilities therefor we had to remove some suns.

    The hotel thrones on a little mountain comparable with an old fortress or castle towring on a higher lvl you always have beautiful on the city of Ierapetra the mountains and the sea. Cause of this location the hotel offers nearly on every room a view on the sea.
