We booked a short trip to Vienna with Binoli. The hotel is with 5 stars one star too good classified, but nevertheless very beautiful. Absolutely great location, everything is within walking distance, breakfast of the finest quality. We booked a standard room, size and facilities were very good (for 4 stars). Although it is noisy with the window open, but you should know that as a city traveler and it is perfectly fine.
This hotel has a great Viennese charm and is not your typical 5 star hotel, and that's a good thing. Really recommendable.
The only small drawback was ... that I could not check into my flight at the front desk because of a computer problem and I was sent to the lobby computer and had to pay €2,45 Euro. That for such a nice hotel really was not necessary. Really recommendable! read more

Already unfortunately somewhat shabby smaller double room. I had luckily or bad luck a room to the street. This is also at night very, very loud. And since the air conditioning also was very loud and strange noises, you had the agony of the choice! We had the half board, but unfortunately repeated the appetizers. Exactly boring is the breakfast. Was completely terrible the coffee. And the country the kaffeekultur! bluemchenkaffee is still too strong for this terrible drinks. The breakfast pastries: teiglinge the yet not even properly aufgebacken will. Louder mushy stuff. So no crunchy kaisersemmeln and kornspitze, as ... well as crescent. For a short break in the Austrian capital I can strongly recommend this hotel! In a few minutes you reach the Stefansplatz and the Hofburg from here on foot, as well as the Vienna Prater or Schönbrunn Palace with the subway. The furnishing of the rooms is good, but nothing special. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet is varied and there is plenty. read more

The hotel is centrally located at a subway train / tram station and is situated in a renovated building. It is fitted with antiques, but very lovelessly. The rooms to the inner courtyard are not recommendable, as the windows are blinded with foil because of the ugly outlook. The TV is small and prehistoric. Breakfast is boring, always the same cold cuts, partly dried out, the fruit was old and bad. The coffee cups were dirty. Despite complaints on the first and second day, nothing changed. read more

A wonderful, friendly and elegant hotel, the city center and the first district of Vienna is on foot easy to reach, tram and subway 2 minutes within walking distance. Delicious and varied breakfast buffet, large and quiet, clean room. Also ideal for conferences and congresses suitable!

Value for money 250 € for 2 nights in february paid: for 5 stars hotel in Wien cheap, for our extremely small room but expensive. read more

The hotel has the best years back itself. Staff are very friendly, but no choice competent impression. Price performance ratio is disastrous:
for example 1 small (0.25) still mineral and a small Flask beer from the minibar in the room 8.40 euros!
the double room was extremely small( bed and all around a meter. About). The window had a view of a tight mountain range wall of the house ( maybe 3 meters distant) and onto a Vent hose (Belüftungsschlauch) and by the blower was loud.-I have never stayed in a hotel, already not at all in ... a five star hotel, so had a view.
the carpet in the whole hotel looked somewhat worn out. read more

We spent New Year's Eve 2011/12 in this hotel.
The furnishing of the hotel in general and that of the rooms is really fine.
Unfortunately, we found on the first night when we wanted to go to bed, long red hair under the covers.
While the room service did this right, we treated ourselves to a complimentary cocktail at the bar.
But that was the only negative experience, so we would go there again and again.
The staff is very attentive and personable.
The frontdesk employees reserved us every evening a nice table in a typical Viennese restaurant and supported ... us also in other activities. read more

We felt very comfortable in the hotel de France. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The junior suite was very nice, unusual with two TVs, it was on the sixth floor, with a view over the roofs of Vienna. A bit steep stairs lead to the bedroom, there was still another small toilet, as well as an output, on the roof of the hotel led. The breakfast was good, only the coffee was extremely good. If you didn't have a room booked with breakfast, the price was 26 euros per person rather too high. Therefor you could eat ... lunch for two people delicious. We had booked a junior suite with free breakfast, since that was price performance ratio. Great is, of course, the location of the hotel. A few steps and one was in the city center area, with many sights and more shops and restaurants. Wonderful Christmas market! read more

The five stars hotel 'de France' is very centrally located in a noble and beautiful links avenue of Vienna. The entrance area of the hotel is very well equipped and becomes, as the rest of the hotel decor, the five star flair. The rooms are very nice, the beds very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely both, all-white, as well as extremely functional equipped. The de France is unfortunately to complain, they are, with a few exceptions, unfriendly service forces. A 'good evening' division one, and as a guest you felt sometimes more like an inconvenience. The service forces in ... the breakfast room could have almost no powers, be it insufficient training, it is out of ignorance of neat manner, or only, because the team of almost new and very young ' trainers 'stock. All in all the stay was not unpleasant, but in order to justify the price, the staff at the hotel could ensnare their guests. read more

Oh, yes: it sounds like other reviews on: five stars are not. Maybe some other tourists gather dust from Vienna's upper class, but otherwise not. 'EBay winner' course of a voucher in the rear notes shipped (no view of light), of course, there is the 'eBay' coupon for the food, the waiters and the difference it was bored. Yes, and clear: the hotel is old and it shows.
Positive, but: the young people, they are set as manager, are well trained (mostly HAK school).
The hotel is charming, that all stratifications meeting: from eBay scroungers (in this case we as ... a family) to the Chinese bus (where the?), to the surreal Vienna topping. Everything was there.
In sum: many young staff, nice people, but old hotel. With eBay light OK (not more than 200, -please!) and you have the feeling of 'layer' (if one the waiter survives, seeking the 'eBay' coupon for taking the menu).
The young people at the front desk are the real capital of the house.

It was a nice hotel with a great room, unfortunately the inner courtyard, but very spacious. Two bathrooms with a large type dressing room. The mini bar was free. Everything was very clean and most of the staff very nice. The front desk was mostly friendly and you get the feeling, Oh as work. They had a good day out the torment and a AUFWIEDERSEHEN did not give it at all. Very unfriendly secured, whereby the doormen were very polite and helpful. The bar was occupied, but the waiters more rushed, It. irgendw the the whole time running back and ... forth. The breakfast was very expensive, 26 Euro per person and beverage choices were astonishing. Unfortunately, we arrived a little late, so we only half an hour today, therefor 52 were, -EURO it very much. The staff was very nice. In general, it was a nice stay, but at the front desk really need geabeitet. You are the first person of the hotel and the kind staff really makes a good impression. read more

very nice and helpful staff, comfortable furniture of the lobby, bar, hallways and rooms. We had a large room minutes 20qm. Bathroom and toilet separately, both of which are a little on the small side, but clean. Room had a/c and view of the 'ring'. Beds very comfortable, had a good night sleep. No noise from the street. Had two of eBay coupons in a row. We had been given the 'eBay package' (strawberries, juice, chocolates, and credit) twice. On the first and third day. The bar is cozy. The cocktails at the bar keeper was very good, at the ... other was not at all! the location is perfect! About30m to metro and about 50m to the trams. Opposite the hotel 'entrance' to the old town. read more

Everything was very good except that despite smoking throughout the hotel, someone in 'my' room previously smoked. It was very smelly. I would have expected, this is at the clean and thoroughly aired the room (I couldn't open the Windows) and freshly made-before you just ' rents 'further. read more

Of a five stars hotel I expect a lot more, that is the reason for my severe criticism. If you have a five stars hotel and also on 300 Euros for a Superior room, this may not happen.
But first of all, the positives:
1. Very good location of the hotel, right next to the underground and the tram.
2. Free Minibar which was filled every day (small selection of drinks)
third in the room there was a kettle for tea and coffee for free.
Now the negative:
1. The rooms are very small, in accordance with the front desk ... but in Vienna apparently normal. Our room was about 16 m2 small (without bathroom and hallway).
2. There were hardly any storage space for clothes and suitcases in order to provide.
third, the sound insulation was more than poor. We heard throughout the day the engine of the lift, as well as the road, since the windows were badly insulated.
fourth, the room maids do their work not as well as they should, we had the feeling, that after each day more hairs in the bathroom than before.
the fifth is only superficially cleaned it. The coffee and tar in the cups are transportation wave Chen just a little bit.
sixth, the bed sheets were not changed during our whole stay six days never.
the seventh is not a Spa hotel, a sauna or pool.
absolutely overpriced breakfast for eight ten 26 Euro per person.
I booked this hotel based on the reviews on holidaycheck, but unfortunately not share my enthusiasm. Perhaps we had also only bad luck or we got the worst room, since I am a very cheap deal directly at the hotel. read more
