We were there for 5 days in san francisco, the hotel has 26 floors, location is good, right around the corner with cable car start, shops, restaurants and bars are as well right nearby. If you self catering could in ' whole foods' right opposite shopping. Room was good, fridge, tv, air conditioning. Great view about sf. Hotel staff was friendly. Pool was rather small, however, heated! We can only recommend the hotel! Price-performance is okay. read more

Room number 1410. 14th Floor thus and great view to the city-).
Room by the size and furnishing completely adequate and above all clean. Hotel lies centrically in San Francisco on a large street without homeless person in front of the door!
One reaches by bus well the hippie district of San Francisco with beautiful boutiques streets: haight and ashbury!. fischermanns threw is also from there easy to reach. The marked streed is during the day quite nice for shopping. As soon as it got dark but lots of dark and homeless onto the street. When we in the ... hotel someone asked because nightlive da it was called two women who are not familiar with is rather not go back. San Francisco is in the dark so not underestimate! Fisherman's wharf is really beautiful. From here you can Alcatraz visit drive. S-Bahn costs 2 Dollar the one suitable in seem to have! The ticket the driver gets valid for 90 minutes, and can also for the bus and vice versa! read more

For a short break without car suitable, parking very high 40 $plus tax/day. The food in the restaurant was very bad, taste (any) ordered steak (medium) was through and a food not the ordered. There is also the feeling only as Durchgangstourist to be treated. ( only restaurant) in the hotel you are friendly and dealt with complaints quickly and unbürogratisch. The rooms are in good condition, to the windows in terms of done are. Rather somewhat longer in the catalog leaves and other hotel choose. read more

The hotel has many floors, whereas the lowest floors all as parking garage can be used. By the high room you have a wonderful view on San Francisco. The rooms themselves for a city hotel normal size, our bathroom against was very small, because we had a exterior room had, the right on the exit was. There was a desk, a fridge and a TV. The design of the rooms was great.
The breakfast room was very dark and oppressive, not nice for a day to start. The choice of breakfast was all right, whereas between continental and American breakfast ... a distinction has been made. We had continental breakfast and were therefore no warm food, in other words eggs etc., to take us, which in my opinion a cheek is. The absolute best is however, that a really large hotel two Zweischlitztoaster were available. As a result, a massive Snake through the anyway relatively small breakfast room made.
The hotel lies next to several small shops and banks and right next to the end of a cable-car line, with the Chinatownschnell to reach is. The location is thanks to the cable-car access so very attractive.
Overall the hotel is ( except for the inconvenience for breakfast) a good hotel around the time in San Francisco to spend. read more

Window are simply vitreous and the noise of the city purely, otherwise is in our room mold been! General the hotel makes the impression as it would be in the 70. Warp only the TV one has replaced and a Wi-Fi added.
In the comparison with its hotel in the USA this is very bad. In Las Vegas and Fresno we have with Hampton better experiences can do. The Holiday Inn in Sacramento is also not the hit, but always no mold! read more

We spend in this hotel two nights as a part of a round trip through the south-west of the USA. During this trip we stayed in 9 different hotels and this hotel belonged to better.
A terminus of the Cable Cars is located in the immediate area of the hotel. This one is very fast to the most important places/places of interest San Francisco ( for example Lombard street and Fisherman's Wharf). I recommend a day ticket to buy (14 $) you can cable car, bus and tram the whole day go. A simple travel with the cable car costs ... already 7 $. Such e day tickets can right at the hotel own souvenir shop are acquired. Directly next to the hotel is a Starbucks and a street deeper a drugstore.
The rooms are tastefully decorated and clean. The size of the rooms is different. We had unfortunately a very small room and a mini bathroom. There are two walls our room from window and the view was so much beautiful. In the 8th floor (from 26), a great view on San Francisco. Unfortunately are the windows nothing special clean. You could in any case be cleaned once. In the room was a fridge and a coffee/ tea makers. Wi-Fi was also free of charge available. A safe does not exist.
The breakfast room has not please us. There is no window and therefore seemed very dark. The breakfast was with our round trip with included. We heard the otherwise 18 $costs. I feel this is too much. There was toast, bagels, cheese ( only hotel during our round trip in the cheese gave ), jams, fruit, cakes, muffins, scrambled egg, Bacon, pancakes, coffee, orange juice. I think I would rather in the Starbucks breakfast. You can get cheaper way and must not in this dark breakfast room sit.
We can all those projects San Francisco to visit the Herzog & de Meuron Gateway recommend it. read more

The Holiday Inn Golden Gateway San Francisco is a an ageing hotel. A coat of paint and new furniture would work wonders (on the facade one is at least reinigungstechnisch just going on). It is however because of its location, directly at the lateral road of the hotel starts the california street line of the Cable Cars and a bus drives directly and at regular intervals to the fishermen's wharf. read more

Should my husband and I again to San Francisco travel, then we would in any case at the golden gateway check-in. The staff at reception and the concierge were accommodating, nice and helpful. Our request for a room with great view of the city and to the bay (25th Floor) were fulfilled. The cleaning staff was very friendly and patient. Right next door is a Wells Fargo bank in a starbucks coffee shop is; so was the first breakfast and tasty. From the hotel you can take the muni -buses and with the cable car in every direction go. Favourable ... the city pass. Short and sweet: our 10 nights in sf would not have much better can be. read more

The hotel is actually located a bit outside of the famous sights, but are these through the direct access the cable-car line easy to reach. The tickets can right at the hotel private souvenir shop are acquired. A street deeper of the hotel, could the nightlife in various bars enjoyed are. To try it, a room in a high floor. The view is not bad!-) Whereby the windows from the outside perhaps once again could be cleaned. The hotel has also a pool and various other entertainment possibilities, but from this we could us because of Lack of time ... not impression make. With the rooms itself we were very satisfied. A major disadvantage however is the parking, because the costs for hotel guests extra about 40$ the night. read more

On the whole the perfect hotel around San Francisco unsafe. In 3 minutes you are at the cable car station and the public bus isn't far.
Breakfast and meal one should however outside of the hotel since there the prices and the quality better. Mel's drive-in is a typical American Diner, that at any time of the day the perfect food offers. And it is also only 5 minutes' walk away.
Unfortunately there is no safe in the room, apart from that there was everything that you need! read more

The pool was located on an art roof terrace, where you smoke and in the morning enjoy the sun. We were however glad on one of the upper floors to, because it in the room around the pool area certainly was very loud, because also in the evening had everyone free access to of the terrace.
We had a great view over the city, and many bus stops on the doorstep. The tram was right around the corner. The pier 39 one needed approximately 10 to 15 minutes, depending on what line you used.

The room, the we had was nothing special nice. The windows are only simply vitreous, so that it especially at the weekend noisy. In the room there is no safe, he is at the front desk free of charge to rent. Nearby there is a Bad Fallingbostel and a good bio -supermarket with good sushi. Apart from that it is with the Cablebahn not far to the town (3 day pass 21$ )
The hired car we because of the bad parking spaces first on the day of departure picked up. I recommend the hotel only partly. read more

I chose this hotel as an alternative the relatively more expensive hotels in the business/conference district on the occasion of one business trip. The terminus of the cable car California-line is around the corner and so it's easy to the center; definitely Buy more days of fun (is in the hotel possible), A single is expensive. Skip onto a car in the city, parking garage in the hotel is very expensive.

bed is pleasant, bathroom sufficient large, flat screen TV with today yes standard.
A renovation would be good ..., since the carpets exterior/walls and the best time back have. The value for money but it was fine. read more
