good location. great for shopping, catching a bus, etc. reception if very nice, friendly. cookies are great and warm. concierge service was very accommodating. maid service was tip top. rooms could use a little sprucing up, and the heating system a bit of an adjustment. bed was terrific, and really a king size number. lobby was regrettably cold, and noisy with tv and overhead music making concentration difficult. einstein bagels is conveniently close. have stayed here before and will stay here again. read hotel review

Decent, but Better Last Time

DoubleTrees have a reputation, or at least they used to, of being clean, a bit better than average, and solid on the basics. We found this a bit wanting the last trip. The windows leaked water from rain from the outside, plus a bit of cold air. The room-heater was either too hot or too cold, and getting it right was really difficult. The bathroom, while functional, was in need of some repairs and sprucing up; we didn't feel like it was really, really clean. We recommend this hotel, IF they get the above fixed. We've stayed there before, and ... know it's been around for a while--but that's no excuse not to get the little things taken care of. read hotel review

We were surprised by the great pool on the deck in the 5th floor. Great for relaxing after sightseeing, museum etc. On a hot summer day. Comfortable loungers, fluffy towels and skyscraper around us. The children wanted not any more since way, although otherwise all attractions easy to reach on foot were. Perfect location! read hotel review

Desi-level staff of the patent, not the on complaints received. 1 king size bed was booked, but it was given a room with two queen beds saggy. On demand meant it only, that the hotel was fully booked, and a room change is not possible is. Email questions unanswered the holiday. All in all, you could get the same quality at a Hilton garden inn for a cheaper price. read hotel review

A lovely hotel, right in the middle of chicago! We had a room above with the best view of the hancock tower and the lake Michigan! Especially in the evening i was regularly from the cottages! I could spend hours in this typical american bank in front of the window sit. The bathroom was quite large, somewhat small as usual. The two beds were huge and very comfortable. Great tv... Only annoying : long waiting periods before the elevators! Nor this year i come back! read hotel review

The metro is about 10 minutes to walk, but you can also great with the taxi, called the hotel right in front. Just returned from the airport and the airport we suggest taxi from (except Blue Line Grand (8 dollar which saves having to the change in the Red Line (cost $2.25 ). Several bus lines on the other way Michigan Avenue, two blocks away. The hotel is close to everthing Navy Pier 10 minutes on foot, center/loop also about 10 minutes. If you runs through the town, you'll see far more. Shopping and there is food on every corner. There is a supermarket across the street.

AIPORT Express (28 dollar) steers hotel every half hour. Taxi to the Blue Line cost US$7 , - dollar and Blue Line to O'har costs $2.25 -> economical choice! The large fitness center that was 2 years ago, it was replaced by a functional wellness center. Unfortunately there are no sauna more. There is free wireless internet access in the lobby. To the foot of the Navy Pier (10 min), the pool (15 min) and the Millennium Park (15 minutes). A little less favorable connections to the Tube: about 8 minutes from the stop "Grand" the Red Line.
