Small and comfortable budget hotel in Kandy
- December 2012
This hotel is located on the other side of the lake from the town. It is fairly easy to get to, and is slightly up a hill. The hotel was fairly clean, though slightly dated, and the staff were friendly. The dinner buffet was excellent, offering a wide selection of Sri Lankan food. This is a good budget option.
It changed everything furious quick
- August 2012
In a informally run house and the travel guide should the kindness of the owner above average are. So was the unfortunately not at all. The owner spoke with us no word, although we even the common mother tongue German and her husband was provided helpful, as long as he sell something could respectively but commission got. There was an inconsistency in a with him booked drive from Kandy to bentota.
In the street the best quality, but expensive

- May 2012
We practically all the guest houses in the street looked at, before we reach Sharon INN arrived. On our backpacker-travel we have already experienced, but this accommodation street were partly correctly disgusting. The room when Highest view was still okay, but the German-speaking owner was so rude, that we against decided. Sharon INN clean and tidy, therefore we were ready the very, very expensive price from 5000 RS (low season!) to pay. The mattresses were although new, but so soft, that we did not night right through sleep could, because more warmed. Breakfast was good and sufficient. Which US however ... at most disturbed, was the friendliness of the owner. A German Mrs, which refuses us some tips on German to give, and we had to us on English-speaking husband turn, the but also quite taciturn was.

Clean and good location, but not a bargain more
- April 2012
The hotel the vista point travel guide 2012 as Schnäppchenpension advertised. The prices have since that however doubled (6,000 Rs = 36, -EURO, Puya day, public holiday). Next door are the Amanda hills (60 $, in a forum recommended) and the Highest view (poorer reputation ). The hotel lies at a small street on a hill the Kandy lake. Down you can on foot run, high with the small trains. Positive is the location right on the lake, so that you Kandy good explore can. Also it is clean and the rooms are tidy. The rooms have balcony, the ... bathroom is clean, the land to the file however old and broken. The soap was already used and packed again been. The bed was comfortable, however probably only 1. 80 meters long. Initially I was pleased, that the reservation was attempted, our journey of negombo with the organization (of the interlocutors called 2 times with the course, in order to inquire after the trains). Ultimately we have a other Prior to by train from Colombo elected, what our luck was, because the trains in all classes because of the public holiday were fully booked. We were traveling until Perandeniya by train and the last 9 kilometer put the small trains back. At least we were for the brother-in-law the German landlady uninteresting, after we confirmed, that we only one day and our rückfahrttickets already have. He wanted to sell us tours and us, be dinner nearby - on presentation of a guest book with positive reviews. There I found disappointing, that it afterwards no tips or similar more, for example on the travel guide -called Malwatta convent/monastery (with temples and a small, free museum!). This is located right on the street of the hotel at the foot of the mountain, at the main street, and is in my opinion after a real inside tip. To complain about is, ultimately, the then peel rudeness. The German Sue (the name is in travel guide) greeted never also only once, always a verbissenes face ripped off, even in our room burst just as we were there moved! Your brother-in-law was, as mentioned, also very stuffy. After he had said kindly need, that we in the early afternoon, to evenings he would the room not reserve, we arrived around about 13 hours. The room was not bezugsfrei. We had to wait and were given a bottle of water. This we should pay, point we said, that we thought, that an apology was for the waiting time, whereupon he replied, reference time from hotels is everywhere from 12 o'clock! Everything not very welcoming. For breakfast are not enough tables available, so we had to wait again. There was then a fruit plates. Then again waiting time. Eventually a Schlüsselchen came with jams and butter, followed by our scrambled egg, tea and 2 cold toast for everyone. Altogether it lasted over an hour, we had our trip day only at 10 o'clock start, although we have been at 8 o'clock were prepared. Nevertheless you can the guesthouse to recommend, as it is clean and peaceful was, what in Kandy not always the case is.
Good place to stay for a fair price archiviert
- February 2011
For our backpack tour clear winner of the hotels/guesthouses. The price with 3,500 rupees, the highest, however therefor we had also times cleanliness and comfort ☺. The hotel is run by someone from Germany Emigrant led, so the result nice conversations and tips for our visit we could do. As we were on our round trip again after Kandy arrived, we stayed even a second time there. The hotel has a access to the internet for its guests furnished, the rooms are large and clean and had a balcony. A laundry service is offered and the attached restaurant is ... at least once definitely recommendable. A variety of meals in buffet form, tasted great. Bit disappointing only, that our second stay exactly the same thing. However a good address, even if the climb( the hotel lies good 20 minutes from the city center from Kandy) is a bit of a hassle, as it is quite high. All together, clear recommendation!
