Five star hotel for massentouristen, the a vacation at a 'branch' with was extra filled up with beach prefer. High material at the buffets. Lousy service. Wait for a Cappuccino in the morning 20 minutes. On a glass of wine in the evening 20 minutes. The relaxation. Buffet is also fish offered, but then from the staff are served. Only... Unfortunately, we only stayed for 3 days in this hotel. Actually, there was nothing to fault except for the traffic of nearby bridge.     the staff were friendly, but you had the impression, that the policy of the hotel on it aims, as much money as possible from the customers to win. We arrived on 25. December at, had half board. But at the front desk they told us, that we not walk on Christmas Eve restaurants the hotel could, unless we would extra money pay, because it is a special buffet was. This was also true for the new year's Eve. After the third day I noticed by chance (by the in-house system) that all dinner of our room had been booked. At the front desk after calling, they told me, that it is a mistake was, and that the dinner would be deleted from the bill. The hotel is really very nice Oriental palace as laid out. The disadvantage of this architecture should be noted, that for the most part, very, very long way must, because the Hotel very far from the river/Meerarm along is spread. The room, we had was far away from the front desk, but very nice. Not very large-unfortunately not with space, two suitcases open, still the facilities and appropriate designe five stars. Many restaurants, but all very expensive, but great quality! The hotel opened sea, then the even one star more. A problem that we are just in the hotel bill ... will get. We booked this hotel through a tour operator and paid for. We got from the tour operator a vouchers and presented in the hotel. So far no problem. For restaurant, mini bar, and so on, we have a credit card, with the departure the additional services have been paid. After we were at home, we got an email from the hotel, the tour operator a payment for the night and was therefore received my credit card with the total amount been charged. The last sentence there was also, that they me/us again soon to be able to welcome as guests. There remains a first appetite. We have set ourselves with the tour operator contacted this could clarify the issue. Also I got the information from the tour operator, that have left my credit card again, but the hotel I have nothing more heard. In my opinion, a ridiculous, so I can only advise anyone to leave at the Shangri la Abu Dhabi its right. Fortunately there are other trendy hotels as the Shangri la chain. read more

I think the construction from the hotel super nice. There is no block, but well distributed. Great garden area, very interesting also the waterway to the souk. Next to beautiful beach, with dreamlike view. The whole hotel were in orintalischen whisht with asian elements. read more

    The hotel lies not directly in the Abu Dhabi, you need about 20 minutes to the center, what but also was ok, and even nice, if you don't directly in the center want to be.     the location of the hotel is Prospect surely known. Near to the airport (15 minutes) but also 15 to 20 minutes into town. Us it didn't matter because we had a rental car (with the moderate prices definitely recommendable). The hotel lies, as most of the hotels in the UAE not on open sea. Since in September still astronomical temperatures(45 degrees) prevail, but better in the chilled pools (three very nice, one somewhat remotely in the SPA). The sometimes criticized noise from the planes the Militärflughafens holds itself very within limits, but gets you all evening to sunset a irrwitzig loud show PS-strong jet skis offered. Many Emiratis are just rights machos, their motorized toys to water and street loudly demonstrating needs. as usual in the Emirates has one also from the Shangri la a view of a construction site( in the meantime this also applies for the Emirates Palace, probably wanted to the first house on the block regarding that not in the back is possible). A dream from a 1001 night-this hotel is very close. Up to the beach at the 'river' could we find nothing to complain about, on the contrary, we were pleasantly surprised. We were there during Ramadan and my concerns were not confirmed, except, that on the smoke, drink and food at the pool had to be eliminated. But room service was excellent and the breakfast and evening buffet was an absolute treat! We were then in three other Fünfsternehotels in Abu Dhabi and Thailand, but none could the Shangri-la the quality. read more

    Best air conditioning unit we have come across. Normally I am getting up in the middle of the night to turn the air con. off as I cannot sleep with the noise or if i have turned it off prior to bed getting up to switch it on because its too hot. No such problem here air con. set and left on at a constant temperrature throughout our stay, slept like a baby. We have holidayed in Dubai previously and although another fantastic holiday, certain little things make a difference and the difference here being tea & coffee making facilities in your room, I know its not a big thing but you know what us Brits are like for our cuppa

    There are Five restaurants plus the lobby lounge all of which are kept to the highest standards of clenliness. If I had to say one thing negative it would be that smoking is still allowed in public bars and restaurants. Having said this the only place it probably really bothered us was having drinks in the lobby lounge. We dined at the Vietnamese, Chinese and buffet restaurants for all our meals, the food was a gastronimic delight on all occaisions. There is also a French restaurant and a sea food restaurant.

    probably the most friendliest, helpfful staff we have met, from the moment we arrived we were welcomed by Kopella & Aldo who were fantastic throughout our stay and were more than happy too assist us with any questions or queries . Other staff (Thant, Menion) who would make our breakfast a pleasant experience constantly anticipating our needs,recreation staff (Gigi) who also could not have done anymore to ensure we were comfortable. These are just a few of the staff we would like to thank, but could not fault anyone

    thers are two main pool areas, the infinity pool next to the pool bar and a more quieter one, both pools are cleaned daily and the area surrounding kept very clean. There are sufficient sunbeds for all with beach towels provided and placed on your bed by staff. Majority of sunbeds also have there own umbrella to provide shade

    Hotel located on beutiful beach, only drawback construction was underway across the streetch of water, this however did not cause any disturbance. This hotel has a sister hotel, a short walk away or transport was provided either via a boogie or a boat along the canalway that linked the two hotels both worth a ride.

The hotel is perfect, whether for a short beach holiday, as for a business trip. It is well located (15 minutes airport), there are restaurants in the hotel, and also in the souk next door. The service is excellent, to even Your Glasses by the pool! read more

Nothing for typical german beach tourists, the more research before should regarding the actual topography abu dhabi's. Better in the summer never. German bathing better to Dubai! read more

prompt Check-in with accompaniment to the room 238. spacious rooms with a view of the small pool, with dressing room, bathroom, shower and toilet, all in arab style. by the pool you get chilled Water in a small cooler, the water of the pool was pleasantly warm. Next to the hotel is the Spa wing with massages, fitness room, on the roof of the third pool, sauna and steam room, can be anything from guests of the hotel the shangri-la be used free of charge. Very large breakfast buffet including a large chocolate fountain, hot, cold meats, bread etc. many. ... Right next to the hotel is the souk with quite a lot of Arab shops, a small market and several restaurants. The restaurants are partially very run down chilled (The meat & co.) you should better hot food wear. I recommend the noodle shop would still. With the taxi or the shuttle bus are large malls within easy reach of abu dhabi, abu dhabi mall dhs 30 by taxi, yas island dhs 50 by taxi (ferrari world). Complimentary internet access in the whole building and a pool. To/from the airport about 90 minutes with dubai hotel limo. read more

I've had a appartment this time and it was really a pleasure. Balcony to the beach; small but fine kitchen, neat room - only a little bit small bathroom For having breakfast you have to go to Shangri La Hotel, but you can take one of the golf carts. Great buffet, as well breakfast as diner. read more

We stayed for a couple of days shangri la hotel and loved it. The hotel is in oriental style, with great attention to detail built. The staff was super friendly and anticipates your every washed off. At the Breakfast is the furnishings (great for the children), in addition, long buffets. If you stay here nothing find something to eat, should stay at home. From the hotel you can in the so-called 'Souk' walk. There are small shops, restaurants, a sort of mini-market and an american basque robbins Eiscremeshop. Otherwise one drives in abu dhabi taxi for little money, so that ... you can do on the bus actually (about 8 euro for across the city, for example by the emirates palace hotel). Very nice hotel, annexed Souk with shops and restaurants, reachable boats with electric. Every evening À la venice we had fresh flowers in the room. Bathrobe and slippers channel, as well as the bed were made. The bathroom tidy. Location a bit outside of abu dhabi between the two bridges. Right across the street from a large mosque. The nearby lying airport did not bother us, since only helicopter transport. Very recommendable was a buffet evening Thursday lobster crab, Oysters, Peking Duck Suhsi and everything else was good and tasty. Swimming in the creek in front of the hotel but ... not very edifying. Very warm and many seaweeds. read more
