Somehow a shame, that from this' staatshotel' no more made. The renovated deluxe -rooms are small, dark and uninviting. Compared to other german ' grandhotel ' rather disappointing. The service is really hard. Some areas of the hotel exude the charm of the 60. until 80. against! If you like it. Somehow it was much broken: elevator to the pool (so in the bathrobe 5 floors through the house.), coffee maker in the hotel bar, tv remote. All in all, little attention to detail. No small attentions, like hotels of similar category, food in the food area boring, breakfast ... with orange juice from the bottle of (for 5 stars rather unusual). read more

The rooms of the hotel (we had suites) had a great view. The suites are very spacious and in relation to facilities in my opinion nothing to be desired. The wellness area is very recommendable with a big pool and sauna, steam room etc. The equipment of the gym seemed ' nagelneu'zu are. The food in the restaurant was for us in taste satisfactory, we found the soups unfortunately somewhat bland. The service in the restaurant (dinner) was a bit too firm and found not always the otherwise very courteous and friendly tone, we in the hotel experienced. Very positive ... emphasis are the attentions (sparkling wine in the room, birthday cake) on the occasion of the 70. birthday of my mother! Such a thing one finds not in every hotel! Altogether was the night in the hotel to us a very nice experience. We can wes for family celebrations very recommend! read more

A great hotel to be comfortable and relax, with a very good cuisine despite small drawbacks in the wellness area: Sauna is way too small and a put is not possible, had only 70 degrees on friday night. Steam bath was the ventilation dirty and altogether a filthy overall impression ; besides only with 20 minutes lead time usable, as not advised. The wellness area is besides no nude area, although the access to the sauna is fluent! Underground car park is in the outdoor area and only over stairs reachable. Parking spaces further away. read more

Passing through we have this hotel reception in this historic place late visited. Warm welcome, the lady at the reception despite hoarseness and cold a top -service offered. The team spirit of the hotel team noticeable. Here nobody 'sick'. Suite excellent clean and tastefully decorated. The late-night visit of the restaurant was a wonderful experience - had a bit of a french grand hotels. Also the wine recommendation of sommeliers-a hit. Very good value for money. My recommendation. read more

We were at a birthday at hotel and restaurant. At location and interior of the hotel there is nothing to complain about. The in the restaurant offered services were out of the question. The wine (Bordeaux) with the pouring out of the waiter about the whole table cloth spread, the espresso came in coffee cups. After asking the reply came' we do not have enough clean (!) Expresso cups. ' the main course came with wärmehaube, sometimes without. On further inquiry told us the lady of the service with: 'she could not all plates with wärmehaube -since it would ... have been again (!)'. The main meals were luke warm at best. The served duck breast tasted rather tough and was with two dry croissants garnishes. Conclusion to the restaurant: on this level absolutely impossible - never again. In the hotel then the to the room ordered champagne and despite demand not more delivered. The complaint concerning this the next morning at the front desk was just dismissed with a shrug. Conclusion: absolutely not acceptable and very unprofessional. read more

The location of the hotel looks for in Germany their peers. The furnishing is not very up-to-date, but elegant, tasteful and well maintained. The various public premises show mostly to Rhein and are extremely spacious. The service at the reception is unobtrusive, but perfect. The dinner was reasonable, the breakfast excellent.     All the staff were exceedingly friendly. A small downer : as a smoker i asked, whether it in the hotel also a 'warm' possibility to smoke there (it was november, circa -1 ° c). Also on demand the answer was' no ', just outside - in the bar you could of course smoking.

We have our stay very much enjoyed. We have a room with view on the rhine arranged And had a really wonderful view of the Rheintal. Than attention of the hotel We have upon our arrival a bottle of sparkling wine, a fruit plates and truffles get. In the morning and evenings There was in each case a bottle of water. The breakfast buffet was very diverse and the 3-course menu In the evening very nice and tasty. The service in the whole hotel was friendly and Accommodating. For a Grandhotel the gastronomische range simply only embarrassing. It tastes after finished soups, billigster mozzarella used and the orange juice is disgusting cheap concentrate. The white bread and rolls are bought or lousy prebaked bakery items. The breakfast room is the color what the ' art ' on the walls is an impertinence. This does not for this otherwise wonderful located hotel. read more

The hotel creates unfortunately in the general impression is four stars, since managementmängel in the restaurant (sous chef and service boss showed unfortunately considerable technical faults) the otherwise good impression impair. The staff are generally very friendly, whereas reception and room service could have been better. The breakfast crew was also very good, in the evening were the waitresses friendly. Unfortunately, you get on the mountain a little the restaurant directed, whereby one should think, that half-board Steigenberger ok should be (with starwood and marriot is such so far never happens). The room was in very good condition and the ... views over the Rheintal really unique. read more

    No restrictions, the view on the rhine with a small balcony (60. room) was really very nice (if not just mist was). A large bottle of water from the room to the greeting, minibar, tv, safe available. Large bathroom (shower), generally very bright room with large windows. Everything was tidy and the cleaning of the rooms thorough.

    There is the ehrenpunkt for the breakfast crew, the very attentive and service-supervisor run was. The waiters in the evening was friendly. Unfortunately, then but the sous-chef and waiter at one of our evenings (6.10) the bankruptcy as k. o.-criterion: The guest with the half-board a three-course meal served (no selection 2-3 options as one might expect). Unfortunately matched the main course (roast beef ) not at all and the question, whether because the kitchen not with fish familiar, they answered, that fish in the menu untypical is. The waitress confirmed then, that the sous chef a fish selected could have been... Then came only once a wrong main course (sadly also only on lift the cover on). The sous chef had salmon dialed, but apparently for the first time tried (this fish was now a crust, but the rest of the fish was unfortunately also somewhat long in the heat remained... Well, which one cannot, you should only time without guest practice... It came but also no apology, therefore, i assume, that the kitchen the best is, what with fish was - just a pity, that the sous chef then a simpler fish or a simpler preparation cxxxvi). The service-boss topped the still, since he the ordersystem after 4 days not operate and then forgot the dessert, and so on; after nearly two hours and 20 minutes of waiting for the dessert ended this culinary odyssey with clear criticism... Now values i still positive, the service-boss a error clearly acknowledged (is however the question, whether the hotel manager its staff not adequate trains, before this lead apply?) , the sous-chef a total failure was (maybe the yes also only a avartar \u263a - that isn't on at all and sufficient maximally for three stars standard. In fairness, i should mention, that the waiter after rejection of all the offered additional drinks from the aperitif and the water of the bill took. Actually were also enough waiters available, but that has not led to a rapid and exemplary service (in the evening was it but it was still ok, since the waiting periods as a part of were-but generally attentive service something different ) - the problem seems the management in the kitchen and service are... This evening is after me many years intensive travel in international hotel that had never happened.

    Specifically closes the gastronomy from... The reception was very friendly and competent, the cleaning of the rooms including turn down service worked without any problem in the background, than in the pool no towels were, they were immediately. The staff were very attentive - well, for a 5 star house fulfilled the expectations.

    There is a pool (manageable ), a few sports equipment (stepper, laufand, bike, but always one ), a sauna and a steam bath. This is generally, but already once tight, if more like 8. people in the area are (since only 6 lounge chairs). It also appears once on the day after the area looked to be, as we once in the evening towels had to request, as on arrival all shelves were empty (the service but it worked).

    The panorama is great and the 'isolation' very close to the former capital is interesting. Bonn now seems increasingly on culture to sit, which certainly interesting. The exposed location on the mountain of course the disadvantage, that you were in the evening rather in the hotel remains. In the surrounding area there are in Bonn or Brühl, but also the siebengebirge a lot to be seen.
