Huge nice hotel( 500 room) within the Riu-complex of three hotels (all so large ), clean and tidy. All-inclusive, use all three hotels possible, wlan daily 90 minutes in the lobby, super slow, otherwise very expensive! The guests were mostly (about 90%) very loud and trinkfeste canadians, the hardly from the pool moving (in accordance with the quality of the water!) And also during dinner times no dress code scherten. Management took that no influence. There were a few europeans and on the weekends you wealthy dominicans, which didn't bother us. Absolutely no Riu-standard for a 5 star hotel (level ..., dining, especially the wine!). This is not true for the excellent service the complete staff (waiters, bar crews, maids, gardeners etc.)! read more

    Rooms and balcony clean and tidy, with appropriate furniture and furnishings, flatscreen tv with two german channels, mini-bar, alcohol dispenser etc. Clean bathroom, from time to time but falls the water from.

Very good freshly squeezed juices for breakfast, and various egg dishes, decent cheese, bread basket and from time to time smoked salmon. Beer drinkable, but absolutely undue wine. Steak house not recommendable: soup and appetizers in self-service as in the normal restaurant, meat of our main course tough and everything was carelessly served. The same bad wine! Then the italian restaurant declined.

    Absolute great service the complete staff see above. , efficient, friendly and helpful! Fremdsprachenkenntnisse acceptable, at the bars and the front desk good. Room cleaning very good, daily changing, also daily beautiful decoration. With a little tip and sweets everything worked even better!

    Very dedicated entertainment team for all, those that likes, also much for children. By the pool always very noisy, evening shows very tidy. Loungers by the pool always very early occupied, the few lie is at the beach. Chairs well. Karibik-beach feeling is not. Showers also at the beach available, as well as toilets, clean, but unfortunately too little.

    Shuttle 45 minutes, depending on the room right close to the not very nice, rocky beach, ocean by corals and rocks very difficult, without shoes hardly possible. If you like in the sea swims, has enormous difficulties. Who beaches in Punta Cana knows, is absolutely disappointed. Excursions through tour operator in the hotel very expensive, better already Germany with extra tours book! Shopping in the hotel and the caribbean street overpriced, with the dealers left and right of the hotel at the beach the same were to act considerably cheaper. We had a Riu-sparreise and locally we experienced, that we in the Bachata to stay. The hotel is near the small town of maimon directly at the beach. The nature in this region is really great, all perfect green, hilly and beautiful plants. Also the garden of the hotel is beautifully planted and maintained. One may during the day the facilities of the Merengue garden and Merengue village use, only the dinner in the booked hotel. The types of people are mixed, the largest portion, (at least during our travels) canadians and americans have been. Many were due to the ... Spring Break there, so it at the pool bar often quite loud was. In the lobby there were a few seats, the free internet (wireless) is very slow and the room extension on the day of departure worked also not. It is then only a shower available, in which you almost everything was flooded and constantly other people in front of the door. read more

    Nice size of the room, clothes line on the balcony, flat screen tv with 2 german programs, minibar (with alcohol), safety deposit box in the closet, large bed, air conditioning and fan. The maids decorate partially beautiful, for us they were a bit poor, although we have tipped. However pick for the decoration was everywhere the blooms and you hardly found still blooming plants on the hotel.

    The food was of the quality and quantity good, always hot, was always very fast refilled and it was very clean. There are 2-3 theme nights per week (asian, mexican...) The breakfast was wonderful, the marble cake was delicious and of course the great fresh juice/milkshakes. Unfortunately come for breakfast/lunch very lots of guests of the other hotels in Bachata, what entails, the places on the terrace almost always are full. This can be avoided, if you have between 7 and 8 o'clock for breakfast is, as we on vacation always early risers, we had also no problem. The selection at lunch is available in the Bachata also significantly larger as in the Merengue, there we were only on one day eat. The steakhouse has us well tasted and it is perhaps also important, what you ordered. We were last year in another Riu-hotel and the food, we thought it was in the Bachata better, only the dessert was for me personally way too sweet and the consistency was partly strange-for the pudding.

    All of the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. We have absolutely no criticism, the foreign language skills are not all just good, but somehow a communication always worked. You should the staff again and again some tip send, because they worked really hard and deserve relatively little, to ensure a then hands.

    To the pool we can't say much, but it was always very busy. At the beach were always free beach chairs available, but they are partly very saggy. There is at the beach unfortunately too few toilets or one must very far run. Is good the service, that staff at the bars again and again at the beach come by and ask, what you wanted to drink. They then to liege. The animation is good, not intrusive and the evening shows are tänzerisch put really great. Free pedal boats and kayaking and so another view on the beach. Snorkelling doesn't really pay off, there are only a few fish to see.

    From the airport circa 35-40 minutes away. The beach is of the buildings in just a few minutes to reach, it is not a typical Karibik beach, but we knew that and we enjoyed it much. There are many palm trees and trees, unfortunately there are in the water many stones, corals and sea urchins. In the direction of the Merengue will the beach clearly wider and you could also without beach shoes into the sea go. The beach is absolutely not with the beach in Punta Cana comparable, however therefor we found the area a charming and you can many great go on excursions (see tips). In the Bachata there is a side still another small, beautiful beach, in the no chairs and one in the evening a great sunset experience.

The hotel is one of the 3 Riu houses - Bachata, merenghe and villages-. On arrival stayed most of the german vacationers in the village and merenghe from the bus, only 2 vacationers with us in Bachata. While we were there, there were about 98 percent of americans (canadians ) in the hotel and that's why it was in the first week very lively, but also amusing. We have our wunschzimmer, which we 7 years ago already once had inhabited, get back. It was spacious and the cleanliness left nothing to be ürbig. Wlan was in the room use, was ... however liable to pay the costs. read more

    Rooms were spacious and very clean. The mini bar was filled with soft drinks. We have in the beds great sleep. Air conditioning system functioned also perfectly and quietly. The bathroom was large enough and clean.

    The entire staff was extremely friendly; but without english knowledge (except at the front desk and a entertainers ) was nothing to do. On the complex and toilets were always cleaned. In the restaurants was always immediately after leaving the table cleaned and the soil is cleaned. In the room there were daily new kunstfiguren from towels manufactured.

    What the entertainment is concerned, i have no hotel experienced, which so an offer at play. Whether Boccia, horseshoe, ping pong, crazy games, pool games, so, i have never experienced something like that. The animatreure were always fully in use. If one peace to have wanted, it was simply in the village. Annoying was the morning liegestuhlbelegung. The sun shades were so big, that even when it rains all drying remained. Friedrich, the deputy manager, was every day by the complex and asked for the well-being. Had any request, they were promptly.

    As this hotel in a bay, was shopping of course problematic. There was a shopping street, but overpriced. Thus you had to to Puerto Plata go. Excursions we had, except for a catamaran drive, have not been taken and that we would have liked in our opinion can save.

Very nice hotel, very clean and tidy. Food was also good, wide choice. Entertainment was partly very pushy. Beach is also very clean but nothing for those who like even little further out swimming, because you couldn't walk very far out due to many stones, seaweed and sea urchins. We also have a lionfish seen. So be careful and not too far out. In some places at the beach was bad into the water due to the many stones. The unfortunately wasn't like that great and under a sandy beach in the Karibik i imagine something else for. But apart ... from that very nice and recommendable. Only drawback was the day of departure no room the showers provided to have gotten. We had in public showers for the home ready, since we only in the evening in/out privileges. And if you wanted your room then extend the per hour 10 Dollar cost. So the rather expensive. read more

    The red wine was undrinkable; a wine list existed and w. not. The guests (us eingeschloßen ) behalfen thus, red wine external shopping unddiesen then for dinner to bring-the in my opinion no solution for a 5 star hotel his, the same thing on the kapverden also happened, Riu must respond. Coffee was also marginal. Positive was the fresh squeezed juices in the morning and the richness of the buffets and theme nights.

    There is several possibilities, a jogging together; an internal anlagenumrundung amounts to about 2 kilometer (including RIU Merengue). You leave the complex, then you are on the highway, with the risk, to be run. Not comprehensible is, by the entertainment no soccer offered-the sports field is available and suitable. Positive: the number of courts; with junio and Andi from the animation team on very reasonable level are trained (8 Euro the hour). The fitness room offers free weights, weight bench, three wheels, a functioning treadmill, a multifunctional arena-everything already a bit worn. If you not to the peak is, you can fully develop.

    Puerto Plata you can take the coach (1 Euro per person) to be achieved, otherwise one is for the smaller purchases on the hoteleinkaufsstraße directed (floats 4 Euro, sandspielsachen 10 Euro, red wine Chile 15 Euro). A very nice hotel complex with big beach, always enough loungers and lots of shade for those who not always in the sun want to lie. Bathing shoe are recommendable. Loungers at the pools always occupied early, Except in merengee villas. The food is good and tasted is however very monotonous. Our room always top clean. Toilets on the complex are as well always clean however too few. read more

In maimon first of three hotel, the together The complex is not huge but you shall enter into force on the feet. The complex looks very well maintained and makes a solid impression. Al we in the january were there, were about 80% canadians and the rest of europe in the hotel. For the canadians is the hotel as for us a hotel on the Canary Islands or baleraren!-). Accordingly we also very much partying. Be careful with the pool with of the pool bar. Above purely, out below! Wifi is available but really a joke. You can every ... day 90 minutes free in of the lobby the internet but as is super slow. If you are in your room also internet must one pay and that is ridiculously expensive. 10 days=50$ and fast something else. Skype worked only with good luck. What we also did not find so good was the fact that the guests of the other two hotels the complex use Should/could. There the pools on Bachata the best are, the food better were lots of guests of the other hotel present. Actually okay, if sufficient space would be, but we were really forced beach chairs early in the morning to reserve so we ever had a place and at breakfast felt were more guests from the other hotel entrance as the guests from the Bachata. Good hotel, the one without doubts to book can. A large advantage areas in Punta Cana is, that not everything was so crowded. You have at any time of the day the possibility at the beach and at the pool place to find. For swimming in the sea one needs however in principle shoes. Some bodies of the beach there are but also without stones, there one could also without shoes into the water. Who for the hotel interested should the information to the neighboring hotel Riu merenge reputation. The hotels are in fact assembled and you could use both ... areas. Only the dinner you have booked in the area. As mentioned, everything completely reasonable. I would like to particularly emphasize the à la carte restaurant. The italian restaurant and especially the steakhouse, with the usual, german standard easily match or exceed that often. In the lobby is very slow wireless internet available free of charge. 45 days RIU Bachata in Puerto Plata/maimon It should a dream holiday will, it was a nightmare! 6 weeks vacation, everyday the same bland food. In the so-called specialty restaurant (steakhouse and italian ) you had to the register. Also there the same food everyday (3 main courses to choose from). About the food is definitely saved, at alcohol not, 24 hours all inclusive, opening hours of the bar until 7 in the morning:00 hours, of sleep no trace. 3 weeks we had no functioning air conditioning, complaints pointless!. On the complex walked the rats around, which every morning ... with giftspritzen to body have been placed. There were two pools, one with pool bar. Here was the water warmer, it was because of the fact, that guests itself the whole day not of the stools moved and their droppings inside running? Only ray of hope the staff were, from the maids to the waiter, all efficient, friendly and helpful. read more

Excellent hotel with very friendly staff. The people were always very helpful and had always a smile on the lips. The food was also great, well-balanced and diverse. Posting two restaurants (italian and steak house) was a bit unhappy, as the places very limited and the reservations only in the morning could be made. However everything else was spectacular. read more

We had actually Riu Mambo (now RIU Merengue village) want to book, this was not buchhbar since this time was closed. Therefore (due to the high number of people who would recommend on this page), we are in the RIU Merengue establishments. We after 3 days stay and leave in the RIU Bachata moved. Our assessment for the hotel Bachata in all points in the Merengue too, with only one exception, the main restaurant RIU Merengue. Since this in our opinion definitely not more Riu standard is. It is dark, confusing divided and very cramped. The individual buffets in the ... restaurant are very far apart, so you 'long' is all buffets to reach. Our impression no einzelmeinung is, you can each breakfast and lunch in the RIU Bachata see, where not a few guests daily (on blue bracelet recognizable) in the sister hotel ate. Only for dinner this was not possible, therefore our move. From discussions with other guests we know that we no exception were. We think here Riu do something, because the staff in the two hotels are all really good, efficient, friendly and read off nearly each desire from the eyes. Before, we were already 5 times in this complex (Riu Mambo), and after these 3 beautiful weeks we are going to come again. read more

    Directly at the beach, but beach shoes recommended. It is in the cathedral. Republic but better beaches for example Punta Cana! Transfer time about 50 minutes caribbean street and disco available. Different excursions were offered, which we the a or other should do. Fishing village of maimon about 3 kilometers away. The hotel is two sides from the sea, a page the beach and the other side a beautiful bay, where Falko a house had.

A lovely vacation before the peak season with international audience. The hotel has a nicely kept hotel. In particular the possibility to eat outside borders the neighboring hotel Merengue from. ( the Merengue village was closed). The complex the neighboring hotels could shared are. Animation we didn't need, didn't bother however also not. At the beach are shady places no rarity, due to the vegetation, the Caribbean like leaves. Snorkel is a must for the baggage, the offered excursions make for variety. read more

The hotel is in good condition-but worn here and there the tooth of the time-or the damp climate. The rooms are renovated, but with old furniture. Through the humidity was my room a bit of a musty smell, also on the clothes. The cleanliness i rate as very good. At my travel time were mainly canadians, americans, british and germans present. read more

    The room was freshly painted and with a flat screen tv. It is therefore a renovated room. The furniture we were however not renewed. The condition of room and bathroom is the age appropriate alright. The air conditioning will probably centrally controlled, as they sometimes more and sometimes less cool. The mini bar is more or less regularly replenished. But you got drinks if one supplier on the way to them. I had always enough diet coke available. Of course helps also here a note with its desire and some tip. It is tidy cleaned, but i had 4 small roaches/beetles in the room. I see the climate accordingly as normal, therefore, you should here cool stay.

    Since the Riu hotels always for your dining be praised, i traveled with high demands on. For my taste i ernähre me lean and eiweissreich -there was a lot to moan. Breakfast and dinner are rich and of good quality, the lunch however a catastrophe. If you are 'normal' fed, pizza, pasta, burger like, you can surely on his taste. You are looking for high-quality, lean meat or fish, one is a little poor service. If you like i leistungssportler and his diet respects, should keep that in mind. The bars offer great service - however, fresh mixed cocktails like for instance pineapple Daiquiri, melons shake and other cocktails scarce. The cocktails about 90% from verzuckerten packaged food - the is however meanwhile almost everywhere so. The ambiance in the restaurants and bars i would as good describe. I have here and there tip, always was however right well treated. I regard this as plus, even if wages the tips loose should be. The hygiene is everywhere good as very to evaluate.

    As in the dominican republic of usual, you will mostly friendly and accommodating served. The hotel staff are mostly trouble every guest satisfied. At the front desk understands and speaks good german. The animation team is always someone who speaks german. Complaints were quickly dealt with. In my case the climate control didn't work, what within a very short time repaired. Also there 2 times by telephone reported to ask, wether everything is okay.

    I never saw any of the sports activities only the fitness center use. This is in a disastrous state. The furnishing is miserable (1 times multifunktionsgymnastik, 1 times drückbank, 3 adjustable benches, olympia sz and lh-rails, just free weights to 30 kilogram, 2 cross trainers, 1 functioning treadmill). Except for the cross trainers and treadmills the equipment loose 15-years-old. The multifunktionsgymnastik with truck trailer, beinppreise, up bench i would be perilous describe. Here must be done quickly. In all my years as traveler athletes, i have never had any kind of experience. Clear is the beach not caribbean like the beaches in bayahibe, samana and Punta Cana. However, it has its own charm. It is a shame, that to my travel time the sea very agitated. Snorkelling was therefore quite pointless. Which is a shame, is the nominal length of the bay. To hike one needs around 15 to 20 minutes. Long lonely beach walks are impossible. The cleanliness at the beach was spotless. My rating relates only to the fitness center

    The beach is all rooms, quick and easy to reach. The running trails in the hotel are generally short. After maimon you can the beach, or the road in around 15 to 20 minutes walk. There, there are a supermarket where you could buy the most necessary things. If one continued along the beach along goes, one should to think insect repellent. Puerto Plata can be easily reached by bus 'gua gua' in 10-15 minutes. There, there are the large shopping center la sirena, in the as good as you can buy everything. The bus costs per distance 25 Peso.

The RIU Bachata I can for a relaxing beach vacation definitely recommendable. End of October/ beginning November was still low season, one of the Riu hotels was still closed and the RIU Bachata and RIU Merengue not fully booked. Both beach bar, as well as pool bar the closed hotels was open. Since you all hotel facilities could use one had everywhere extremely lots of space, no matter wether on the terrace in the restaurant; at the pools or at the beach. All of the staff the hotels was extremely friendly, we were everywhere promptly served, and there were also ... at the beach drinks offered. Both in the rooms, the restaurants, the beach and the garden areas it was constantly cleaned and everything okay held. In terms of taste, the food was good even if itself the dishes often repeat. The offer is however so rich that everyone there get on should. We were for the first time in the dom. Republic and were from the hotel, the land and people there impressed and will this hotel for us again book. Also the TUI booked excursions to samana and along the north coast were great and gave us a little insight into the country and life there. read more

The entire garden plant is constantly from the morning until the evening from the gardeners alright held, which this year however, because of the bad weather, was very difficult. We had almost always 4 weeks bad weather. It was relatively cold, very often though it rained one day and was very windy. The sun days you can almost at 5 fingers enumerate. For this reason was also the swimming in the atlantic ocean relatively difficult. The beach was often underwater and was 2 ... times partially blocked off, as the strong rain which sand washed away has. Therefore, there were also some sea urchins at the beach washed ashore, so that a harmless walking already quite strenuous was. read more

However the furniture not replaced. The didn't bother us but didn't, because they are clean and ordntlich.     One step ahead to say. The hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful. At the front desk one understands german very well and smaller or larger problems, the one possibly in the room has, is helped immediately. But you had this year the impression, that you as a german regular from the side of the hotel-management not that much value is. Or should i am so wrong?

    The swimming pool, as well as the beach are kept very clean, provided that with the above described weather were at all possible. But also if the sun was shining, so were always enough chairs and cushions available. Children's entertainment was zero. The children were mostly left themselves. But that is now already all the years-and it will probably not change. The Riu-resort has its own dance troupe, the in the evening very nice shows show. I even like the Michael Jackson Show best, but the other shows like Afrika, Grease, Madonna, Riu spektacular and Riu international are also worth seeing. Shows, the in the evening the entertainers will be presented as mr.. And mrs. Bachata, 4 men against 4 women are not so my case. There must the vacationers on the stage the monkeys make.

    The transfer time from the airport to the hotel is approximately 45 minutes. Shops are in the hotel shop and in the caribbean street given, but the prices are totally overpriced. But you can certainly try to bargain, sometimes with success. Otherwise, you can in Puerto Plata when jeremiz or in the la sirena good and cheap shopping. By the pool you get many a time staff of the spa said, a totally overpriced massage anbietren want. Here a good tip: if you really a massage needs, with the small bay again. At the blue huts has Maria their 'massage parlour'. They massaged very good and cheap.
