Hotel Residence Inn by Marriott Kalamazoo East^{(3 stars)}

Large and spacious, very nicely decorated, with everything you need. A Full kitchen is available, as well as a desk with free internet access. (Cable) The rooms are air conditioned and have a Vertilator. The bathroom is also very large with bath. Moreover, there were an ironing board and iron. Of course the big TV didn't miss

The continental breakfast was a bit lacking. There was toast and bagels, and various types of cereal and a waffle station, but not sausage cheese. Don't would talk about American coffee, that is unfortunately nothing else than painted water.

The staff was very friendly in all respects and always helpful. But clearly, without English nothing! The room was cleaned well every day and there were always new towels and bring shampoo and shower gel. As a special there is a laundry, where private can be washed dry cleaning and laundry, laundry detergent are available from the hotel reception

The hotel is conveniently located close to the highway which can luckily don't hear it. The apartments are divided into several small houses, with two floors. The hotel has an ample parking, a small pool and basketball court as well as a barbecue area which is included for all guests. A small gym with free weights, treadmill, and equipment for legs. (In the whole but rather small and nothing for real Amateurs) as far as I noticed, there was only breakfast. There were mainly Americans there, little or no tourists.

In the whole area around Kalamazoo is not much around there! There are a few golf courses and beautiful lakes, as well as several dining options (fast food) and shopping. In my opinion is the whole region rather ok for the the "typical American life" once want to experience. Children would be bored. Which is well worth it is a trip to Lake Michigan, which with the place "South Haven" in around 1-1.5 hours away. Kalamazoo itself also has a small airport, with which you can arrive from Detroit good. Unfortunately the airport is very close to the hotel so you from and to hear a few airplanes taking off or landing. But not often and didn't disturb
