We had a bungalow. This was equipped with a double bed, two single beds, Fan and a small bathroom with hair dryer equipped. There was no safe, no fridge and no air conditioning. But at night it is from the temperature was pleasant for sleeping, so that an airco definitely not was necessary. Before one window was also a Fliegergitter, so fresh air. The Höherpunkt is the small terrace on the doorstep with a view of the sea and hammock. Electrical outlets are us standard inclusive earthing. The bungalows are purely from wood and a bit sparsely furnished. Hardly possibilities ... for storage space and hang up possibilities for clothes and the bathroom. In the wall there are also the one or the other Gap, however therefor it is also a lodge and no hotel. Very comfortable and we felt at ease.
The complex is super nice. There is a lake, a horse meadow and a variety of nature trails close to the hotel. The lodge is situated off the beaten track and there is nothing around, but one drives only because of the rincon de la vieja and to relax there. Also a small pool is with lawn and horses can ausleihen.
At night we slept very well, because the toads were so loud. Beware, there is toads, the feel secrete a white toxic slime, if they feel threatened. So better not touching (for people not life threatening, but nevertheless painful ).
The breakfast and dinner were in the hotel prices and was on a buffet serves. Both the dinner, as also the breakfast were sufficient and the waiters very friendly and efficient. The breakfast was a little sparse, but OK. There was fresh orange juice, delicious coffee, Fruits, Gallo Pinto (= rice with black beans), bread, jams, sausages and scrambled eggs ( more watery ). The dinner was diverse, delicious and always with salad, main course and dessert.
A bar with TV and delicious drinks is also on the complex available.
There is no fitness corner. read more

Since our planned stay in the riconcito lodge unfortunately because of the construction in the lodge into the water fell, we were decided in the ricon de la Vieja mountain lodge was commentated requarter. Before there was a couple more really great tips from the nice front desk staff. In addition we got the same rate, but the property anyway still too expensive was, even though the hotel supposedly better should be. But we were lucky in disguise, as the mountain lodge much closer to the national park and the hot springs Rio negro is. The lodge is a general ... in the western style, with a huge paddock. The rooms with a double bed and a bunk bed and a small bath very pleasant decorated, but also already quite worn. In front of the room there was then a bank and a hammock. However, since the hammocks strung end to end and some rooms forgive were, it was evening but very noisy. The breakfast is very to the tastes of the amis and you will find little 'healthy' or local. Free wi-fi was only at the bar. In the afternoon, the trip to the hot springs of Rio negro, a beautiful small, not overcrowded lido with about 8 pools (35-60° c!). Further recommends the exploration of ricon de la Vieja national parks. One does not have much time, you should at least the small tour (duration 3-4 hours) along the fumaroles, the bubble mudholes and make. read more

A wonderful area with very well-kept garden, many horses, hiking trails. The staff is always very helpful and friendly, one can communicate in Spanish or English. There are several tours were offered (canopy tour, etc. rides). To rincon de la vieja national park, there are only three kilometer drive. The meals in the restaurant are good, but not very much choice. Where appropriate, that was also, at a time that I was there, where there were hardly any guests arrived. The bungalows are by low-energy bulbs very dark. I have another bungalow, at least at the beds as lamps had. ... The furniture is simple. The pool is small, very clean and well maintained. I felt comfortable there and two days there. read more

The lodge is the ultimate lodge in front of the entrance to the national park. From Liberia from turn of the main street right on a gravel road on the about 1 hour uphill drives. In this street a few hotels are all very close to the package looked. Since we do not at this street want to go back, so we decided to go on this lodge. There are standard rooms and small Holzhäusschen, the group of the busy. The standard room is very poor. Bed, tiled floor and a very old-fashioned bathroom. In the afternoon, they cut off ... the electricity, only to fall back on it! Since we were nearly the only tourists were, there was only one buffet and we had a fairly high rate for this buffet pay. The pool was very small and was being renovated when we arrived. The National park is very worth seeing and the location of the hotel is really perfect for a visit but that was the only positive Aspects. Unfortunately we have in this area costa Rica no nice Lodges for individual travellers found. We were really glad after 2 nights again. read more

Rincon de la vieja lodge the is located at the street the National park of Liberia 'rincon de la vieja' leads, about a quarter of an hour from the park entrance.
A bit out of Liberia you'll from the main street to bad, dusty, bumpy crushed, on the you get a good hour to the lodge needs. 4 WD recommended.
the park-like area very nicely laid out and makes a maintained impression. There are also a small pool beach chairs on the lawn.
the standard rooms are in bungalows accommodated, and are very simply furnished.
it was the worst room ... in our tour. Except for the 2 beds, the ceiling fan and one small Chest of drawers, there was nothing else in the room.
the bathroom was not nice, small shower, toilet, and washbasin, everything was old and shabby.
there are also better rooms at the individual bungalows pond around.
the food in the restaurant however was very good, breakfast and dinner in buffet form, rich and tasty.
after you eat, you can drink in the bar at the pool, was very nice.
free internet in the front desk. It different hikes, Horses, and mountain bike tours are being made.
in short - lovely area, bad standard room, good food, tortuous journey. Good starting point to the National park explore. read more
