The hotel is 5 star, we however not can confirm. We have often in 5 star hotels vacation spend, therefore we do not know, why this hotel the 5 stars is. Okay, it is a matter of taste and it is many beautiful antique furniture and items available. But that was already everything. The rooms are partly very dark, which surely brighter could be organised. We had breakfast booked, which was daily ready and the delicious parma ham has unfortunately missing, as well as other goodies. A 5 star house mind (salmon, sparkling wine, whole wheat bread.) But the ... italians have breakfast unfortunately no that, as we europeans \u263a Violendy we found, that one for an extra soft boiled egg then per egg reencounter 4 €pay (2 times) these were specially on the bill listed. An isolence, because the breakfast itself anyway 28 €already cost! Incredible. read more

What we missed, were the mosquito nets on the windows. Also in september/october there is the mosquitoes here and we had every night several in the room to visit and they have delicious to us fed. Unfortunately helped the anti-mosquito means not much. With a star hotel if this investment in it, because the nets costs yes really not a lot. The rooms are all very dark decor and furnished with antique furniture. For those who prefer modern things like, are looking for another hotel on the right island located opposite, it is not immediately on the Markusplatz.

  • Gastronomy
    3.0

Breakfast already mentioned above. So could be a little more varied, all eggs should please in the breakfast included and not an extra charge for soft eggs or fried eggs still pay extra. Furthermore, italian specialities such as raw ham also on the table, with such a breakfast and not only 1 sort salami, breaded, 1 times cut cheese and cheese at the piece. Jam gives it also, yogurts, juice and fruit. The dinner please contact outside of the hotel a. For us was the dinner here a letdown and ridiculously expensive. For the wine accompaniment to the menu come again 100 €per person, and one has to us then also still wiene poured out, the over were... Such a thing may not happen, no matter in which hotel. The menus around the 150.-, but also 170 € p. person. It tasted us not really. For example stockfish looked like once ate and the polenta was completely tasteless. The portions were off course very small and where the kitchen the Michelin-star rating, is a mystery for us.

  • Service
    3.0

The staff members were very friendly and tried hard, but the us then also not more happy to be able to vote. We thought 1-2 ladies at the breakfast, although they here and there the order to have forgotten.

The hotel's location is good, one is fast at the Markusplatz and can almost for the door with the taxi, boat... Everywhere. Drive with the taxi from and to the airport ever 110 Euro per way. With the Vaporetto there and back 27 Euro, but takes longer, since several stops on the route.

For our four days in Venedig the ideal location. Vaparetto station almost on the doorstep, the Markusplatz around the corner. Our room was for Venedig-conditions certainly right spacious. Especially however clean and peaceful. The laundry, also the bed linen changed daily. Who more wants to spend money on in this hotel should a room with view of the lagoon book. We were however with the lateral overlooking a canal completely satisfied. In Venedig there are a lot of to lots to see, to in the room to sit. The staff are very friendly, both at reception, as even at breakfast ... in the restaurant. The two restaurants of the hotel we didn't visit. However the breakfast is sufficient and good, with 28,00 Euro however somewhat too expensive. We had it included in the price. You can the day with this breakfast lovely quiet in the garden start. read more

The hotel is very central close to the Markusplatz. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was lateral to a small canal. Of course, with a, much more expensive, room with view of the lagoon the better view, however therefor the hustle and bustle of the masses exactly in front of the room. And in the summer you could use the room in Venedig actually only for sleeping. This was only a with air-conditioning possible, which was very quiet and it didn't bother us. Also the windows and the doors keep the noise very good back, so a ... undisturbed sleep is possible. Our room was opposite the elevator, we are not even heard. The towels daily, mostly even twice a day changed. Also the bed for each night changed. Great, that the breakfast in the garden could be eaten, but also in the air-conditioned restaurant. Wether the breakfast buffet but really 28,00 Euro per person value is, everybody has to decide for themselves. If you only little in the morning food, should perhaps try in a small lane a Panini and a coffee to buy. Best it should be, the hotel on a tour operator with breakfast to book. The furnishing is opulent and historic. Perhaps for the a or other a bit too dark. But it fits definitely to Venedig. The location of the hotel could not have been better. The Vaparettostation is in front of the house, the Markusplatz is around the corner. read more

5 very nice days in a absolutely recommendable hotel. Direct location ( approximately 200 meters from the Markusplatz), very good service, dream breakfast, very romantic atmosphere. The restaurant ( Oriental bar ) is very good, however not cheap. In the 'MET' we didn't eat there. Very refined atmosphere in the whole hotel with great Antiques from various Zeitepochen. The site, with its photos the hotel not fair! We talk about Venice, thus generally astronomical prices, but we love it nevertheless ☺ For a romantic weekends-dream. Great Establishment, bed, bathroom-everything was great. Free Wi-Fi, free shuttle bus after Murano & back (per trip 60 euros,-) Breakfast -Italian good and friendly. Dinner the mead-Michelin- restaurant was somewhat disappointing. The traditional dishes you get in small restaurants better and the 'co-temporary' dishes could have been found to be good. Reasonably priced but very reasonable if you consider, that you are in Venice in a' normal' restaurant fast times 250 euros ...,-lot. All together totalized the weekend quite, but it was absolutely worth. read more

We were ready with our two year old children 17, a five star hotel to visit, the us seventh 000,00 euro for 1 double room and a suite. we were very disappointed since this room and the suite relatively small, dusty and it was an unpleasant odor. at the reception had to be on the computer we help to confirm our flight, and they told us with the you have something never seen. the recommendations of restaurants were unfortunately also. all in all were we disappointed but the restaurant can, the cafe garden and the exhibitions in the lobby ... highly recommend it. read more

Rooms can be awful or great. Had an awful room the first night, when we complained we were moved to a much better room. Depends on the room! They don't turn on the A/C until summer so if you don't have cross-ventilation in your room it can be very hot!
