The hotel's location is unique nice. Especially have all rooms view of the sea, also for traveling alone. The employees and people are so nice and friendly concerned the guests a pleasant stay to ready. I was with sister and brother-in-law because, alone it would have been however then again too quiet, unless you are really in need of relaxation. Perhaps it is in the peak season different. read more

Wonderful location in a wonderful bay with its own beach. That was it but also already. The food was, except for the grill evenings one time per week at the monday, everything but enjoyable. We stayed in the 2. Week convenient to the dinner and in the tavern in istro dining. As it was however very tasty and good value for money. For breakfast found also no variation instead of. From day to day the same scrambled eggs, the same two sorts sausage and cheese, after nothing at all tasted. No fresh juice. Coffee cold and thin. The hotel management ... should urgently a other chef effort. The Island of Crete is beautiful. There is many beautiful corners with the best rental car to explore. read more

The hotel is located in beautiful bay with clean sand/gravel beach. The view of the rooms is simply paradisiac and you will enjoy a wonderful peace. The rooms (we have locally the superior room against an extra charge taken), older classic furniture, very big, approximately 20 meters² large terrace, very good mattresses and on the patio too nice seating, beach chairs and umbrella. Absolutely great! The room would be cleaned daily. The audience was international, few children., between 20 to 75. thank god no chairs on the beach dauerbelegt, there were always some free. Breakfast was it was ok for ... greek standards, and for the stars of the hotel. Dinner we did every day the beach restaurant were eaten. Wide selection of salads and warm starters, all delicious were. With main course and dessert, you could under 3 different dishes and tasted very good! read more

    Very nice large in superior room with a wonderful terrace, air conditioning system available, but never used it, since in the evening the sun behind the mountains sets at the end of september mini fridge and safe. This hotel there is probably already 30 years, but the marble bathroom toilets etc. Replaced and everything very clean.

    One must be already good on foot are, for various stages to the beach and back up to manage. The airport is 2,5 hours with the coach. Excursions could be the local buses, stop up on the road in front of the hotel, make, as these several times daily back and forth go. Agios nikalaos is half an hour away, some cruise ships call and there were very nice restaurants, tavernas and shops. Kritsa, a mountain village, 15 minutes volt at, also for a short break recommendable. Ierapetra has no beautiful beach and did not offer very much. The Golden Beach in the next bay from the hotel is also a descent value. Gorgeous water, as in Karibik!

The hotel lies at a very nice Bay and is almost 'constructed in the mountain'. The view over the sea to to Agios Nikolaos is simply nicer. The small beach in front of the hotel fits well in the bay. There is a direct hotel entrance. We stayed in a bungalow, the sufficiently large and well equipped was. However gnawed everywhere the tooth the time. In particular the bathroom needs to be renovated. The pool ( sea water) was nice and big, but also in need of renovation. However the water is clean. However the complex looks after the apparently ... many Nutzungsjahren run-down. Disappointing we have the food felt. As tenant a bungalows give you the permission, in the restaurant ' Meltimi ' to food. Tenant the 'normal' room dishes in the main restaurant, in the also the breakfast served. Optically the restaurants very attractive. The kitchen was however always a disappointment. Although the food was always matter of taste. Our taste however a whole week long not been taken, was disappointing. There is a starters buffet and then a Menüwauswahl as a main entrance. The dishes were bad seasoned and partly not enjoyable. The excessive use of bold came erschwerden oppositionally. It is veilful us, that the kitchen ( according to travel guide) once a star will have. Altogether is the hotel complex quite successful and optically attractive. There is however a clearly identifiable Instandhaltungsrückstand. We had the impression, that you this hotel really could do, if it initially once and a complete makeover through would. Furthermore should the kitchen be improved. It would be the hotel for us a recommendation. In the current condition and with this kitchen we would not recommend it. read more

The hotel is approximately 30 years old and a family-run hotel with so many heart! We felt very good! The director was even for the food sometimes in the restaurant and spoke with the guests. There were sämtiche nationalities in the hotel, over German, russians, English, israelis, greeks, italians... The average age lay about in 40 years. Also many families with children were in the hotel. read more

    The rooms are rather small, however as a couple more than enough. The balcony whereas is huge! The great: every room has view of the see! The furnishing of the rooms is rather old-fashioned, but everything was very clean. In the room there was a safe, a small fridge, air conditioning, telephone and a small tv.

    There are two restaurants, where you dinner can. The main restaurant and the beach restaurant. The latter is outside and for guests the superior -room free of charge. You want this restaurant as a guest a standard room use, costs of this 10 Euro extra. At the monday always find a barbecue evening in the beach restaurant for all of the guest instead of. Here the food completely as a buffet offered. A live band completes the whole. We enjoyed the evening really great! Thursday is always buffet-day, there is the food for all of the guest in the beach restaurant offered. Selection of the meals was really great and diverse. For any taste there was always something for everyone!. We found it to be generally very good, that the main course always served. Merely the soup, warm and cold appetizers and the dessert ( with us only in the first week) daily as a buffet offered. By the served main course there was a beautiful peace and altogether a great atmosphere with a view of the sea. The only negative in our eyes were the soups (rather lackadaisical/was not much) and the pasta. But good-we were not in Greece, around pasta (always much too long cooked) to eat, but greek and we could! Particularly the sheep cheese is recommendable!

    The staff were always very friendly, wether at the front desk or in the restaurant. Most employees were also consistently positive mood, so that a great mood was. The rooms were always thoroughly cleaned. There is extra towels for the beach ( free of charge!) , these could after demand changed every day.

    The pool is very nice, even with salt water! He was cleaned daily. But since we didn't the pool-bader are, we were always at the sea. Once a week there was beach volleyball, which we however didn't use it. Also found once a week a bingo evening and once a quizaend at the cocktail bar instead of. Also a greek-course, as well as a greek dance lessons were offered. However there was no further evening -animation with shows etc. At the beach is a diving school and a boat rental (pedal boats, canoeing, Banana-boat).

    The location is absolutely wonderful! On the way from the airport to the hotel we drove by many cities, there we would not have have a vacation want. Approximately -hour bus ride to the hotel is worthwhile always! The small hotel-bay, the bay of the 'gold beach' directly next to it ( on foot about minutes away) and the other surroundings of the hotel are characterised by so many nature, sea, peace... Istron is a very small place with a few taverns and supermarkets. More you can however not undertake, for that one would by bus ( a toutr 1.60 Euro per person ) to Agios Nikolaos go. It takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes. On wednesdays there is always market. The hotel beach is unfortunately a bit rocky and the water is quite deep very quickly. It is crystal clear and you can also outside easy to see the ground and all fish to see! Chairs and sunscreens are included, which we really great found. Also the bay in the morning always with a small boat was cleaned. The bay next door has an extensive sandy beach, here is really a bit Karibik-feeling. Here must however for sun screen and two loungers 7 Euro be paid (which to current times really is okay!).

    The leisure offer is very soft! What we thought was great! Evenings have the children beach volleyball and once again we by The children banana boat dangers. The pebbles we all didn't bother us!

The hotel Istron Bay is distinguished by one absolutely one-time location, wonderful view of the sea by all rooms, very attentive, friendly and competent staff and very good cuisine. The garden is beautifully, with old trees and very big, the pool approximately 30 meters long. The beach is wonderful! The fact that when you every stay under the guests known from earlier years-so also Regular customers - speaks for itself. Can only be recommended for a quiet, relaxing vacation! read more

We were not for the first time in the hotel and very satisfied as ever, over small faults, there is no new hotel, We look away. We like the large garden, where one always a ruheplätzchen finds. Praise is the very friendly staff. Recommendable also the car rental istron top Cars in the hotel. Very well maintained Vehicles, reliable delivery at the airport and good information for excursions. read more

Had a great vacation, very good food and varied. The location is a dream. Suitable for people the peace and quiet search. Rented car would be of advantage. We can the hotel recommend at any time. the stay in the hotel was a disaster. It was the last week before the end of the season, but for a four star hotel can they not such a breakfast and food. It was awful. The statement of the staff it is the air, which weren't acceptable. Then you will need to close just a week earlier, if the cook has no real desire to work we complained to management. The problem in this hotel are the rooms. They range from really nice until awful. I have three times the room change to the room my category to get. 1. room dark hole 2. the rooms brighter, keinh view of the sea probably bugged 3, room (junior suite ) wonderful, a delightful view of the sea, clean and peaceful read more

Us the hotel has for our excursions in the eastern part the island pleased. The hotel is very peaceful, no annoying entertainment. The hotel is, for children, also well suitably, because the sea from the beach only slowly deeper. A car you should already have, nearby the hotel, there is nothing, to istro you need on foot about 20 minutes the shopping facilities are enough. In the hotel shop you can also cheap buy water. Per: Proximity to the beautiful beach, balcony and view of the sea from the same. Front desk staff was friendly and spoke good English or German. Cons: -Localization 'in the middle of nowhere', to the next larger town of Agios Nikolaos, with the bus connections rather bad, at night you have to take a taxi back (20 €). -Half kilometer away next tavern about. Food (we had half board) in particular in the evening often inedible; the vegetarian dishes were always with a sauce of tomatoes 'Mediterranean ' basis, or whether Pita apetizer. The fish was always around tropical fish ... cheap, pangasius or Dornhai. Local fish were only for a fee to have. The staff in the restaurant was, at best, neutral (friendly) voted, in front of the grimmigen view of a certain waiter could get only in security, if you don't put in his area. Air conditioning was absolutely insufficient, atmosphere in the room a bit dusty. Conclusion: we paid for seven nights, but after the fifth night 'fled'. They asked us not to the 'why'. read more

The hotel of an older year of construction corresponded completely to our conceptions. The staff was always a high level of cleanliness in the room, the pool and the beach, as well as in the whole hotel area made an effort. The breakfast was adequate and the snack bars reasonably priced. Price/performance ratio very good! The hotel's leisure activities left to be desired from time to time, but the hotel convinced with theme buffets and barbeque. Sport and leisure facilities were available, had ordered and paid for. On the beach there is a small school with a very nice and entertaining places, called Tassos. He is very experienced and has a lot of interesting things to say! He speaks very good English and also understood German. The equipment was not so extensive, therefor, but still in good condition. Furthermore, he has a 200 HP dinghy, which provides a interesting spots brings diving (for example cave diving). The rooms are spacious, well equipped and clean. However, we are, so at night some bugs came to light. Rental car is a must to interesting places to see on the ... island! read more
