The Trinidad Inn is a small cozy motel. It has two or three building with 3 to 4 rooms each. It is a good money for value motel for this region - I paid USD 75 per night. The room was clean. I did not see any other guests but only a car in front of one of the rooms. You can park your car directly in front of your room. read more

The room was nicely decorated. It had a comfortable queen size bed, an arm chair, a desk with a chair. The bathroom was small but had everything you need including a shower and a hair dryer. It seems that the owner likes floral designs because the fabrics of the bed and curtains were printed with flowers. The only drawback was that the bathroom had no heater. I guess that is usual in the US because all three hotels/apartments I stayed so far during my travel at the west coast had no heater in the bathroom.

The owner was very friendly. However, I just saw her when I arrived. I came in without a reservation and it was no problem to get a room. She also recommended me where to go which turned out to be good options. She also offered me that when I stay two nights that I could get a larger room with a kitchen for the same price as the smaller studio without the kitchen. I chose the studio (which I just have seen and liked). However, next time I would choose the larger room because of the kitchen. There is almost nothing in Trinidad. They once knocked on my door at about 11 when I wasn't ready yet. They did not come back and when I came back in my room in the evening - it wasn't cleaned. However, I did not care because I was there only for two nights.

The Trinidad Inn is located on a small street near Trinidad. For getting there, you should take the Trinidad exit at Freeway 101 and first left and at just before the gas station you should turn right. Then, it takes about another 5 minutes by car to get to the Trinidad Inn. On the way are more motels, RV sites and camp grounds. Trinidad is a good hop of place for the redwoods that are 20 miles north.
