Small cosy hotel offering everything needed to stay. Leaded by the owner and his wife who live in the same house creating a private atmosphere. Situated right in the middle between the "adventure"area of Matten (young international outdoor freaks) and downtown Interlaken with it`s wide range of restaurants and shops, partly exclusive ones.
Best Price/Offer-Ratio, nothing missing - as long as you don`t expect a high class hotel with extraordinairy breakfast buffet, lounge, sauna, tennis court etc and instead just want to stay in a clean and calm comfortable room.
By the way, it was the second time we used ... this hotel - it was recommended by our son who is stuff in an other hotel in Matten.any questions? read more

Because of a wedding we were only one night at derby and can so only the stay for a very short time rate. For a vacation we could imagine, several nights to stay, with the room price for friday 260.00 ink. Breakfast rather at the upper level is. Because the hotel as a garni run, is not with much noise to be expected, this night in any case was quiet. read more

For the cold and wet it would be a good year carpet at the door in the room to have, so that the beautiful floor must not dirty. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. read more

For a short get away absolutely recommendable hotel in a family atmosphere. Very modern equipped for a small middle class hotel. Competent and friendly advice on tourist attractions and Frezeitaktivitäten. Free entrance into the bathroom Interlaken, as well as free use of public transportation (bus) Interlaken. We were already for the third time in Hotel Derby to guest. We have felt ourselves very well and were always greeted and accommodating. The rooms are very comfortable and perfectly clean. We stayed at the Jungfrau Marathon in Interlaken. The Derby hotel is located therefor very good. We were welcomed in a very friendly and enjoyed the beautiful garden in the sunlight. Very good service, clean rooms, I would highly recommend this hotel. read more

We have felt ourselves, for the second time, very comfortable in this hotel.
It is central but quiet location and is surrounded by a wonderful garden, the linger.
The owners are very welcoming and helpful.
The family rooms are simple, but very convenient equipped. Children sleep in the beds happiness.

I stayed in Hotel Derby with friends during a short holiday in Switzerland. It suited our needs perfectly - all areas were very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful but not overbearing. The rooms have coffee makers rather than kettles, which (unfortunately for me) seems to be the trend in Switzerland, but when we asked for teabags instead we were offered a vast selection from the breakfast room. Peaceful nights' sleep and plenty of continental breakfast set us up well for exploring the surrounding area. read more

I stayed at the Hotel Derby recently with three friends. If you're looking for a base that's clean, affordable, within walking distance to the town centre and railway station and with knowledgeable, friendly staff then you can't go wrong with the Hotel Derby.
The staff are helpful and welcoming and speak good English. You are provided with a pass that allows you to travel free on public transport around the local area. The hotel is peaceful and very clean. Although part of the building dates back to the late 1800s it has a modern feel to it. There are little ... touches that add a homely feel-fairy lights, paintings of local scenes dotted around the hotel, traditional ornaments, to name a few. I can't fault the place-the room was warm, the shower was good, you're provided with extra blankets, there's hot drink facilities in the room etc. We were on the ground floor, which meant we had a balcony and access to the garden; a bit cold to utilise in January but I'm sure this would be something to take advantage of in the high season.

For the number of stars it is virtually nothing negative to say. We were three years ago already times there. Over this period, it has been renovated a lot, in particular the breakfast room. This in light and friendly tone. The rooms with flat screen tv and are decorated in pleasant and warm tones.
A stay, be it in winter or in the summer, can only be recommended. read more

It is conveniently located, also for patronage. It is quiet, comfortable and the hosts were very accommodating is. There was a lot of time taken for the guests. We can only recommend it and we will consider with the next highest in the corner. Every day there were fresh towels in the bathroom. read more

The hotel has been completely renovated. The rooms are technically up to date (LCD tv, Wi-Fi, etc.). exceptionally friendly dealing with guests, they make you feel very welcome. The room service ensures perfect cleanliness. read more

The welcome was helpful and warm without being overwhelming. Our many questions were answered with good clear information that was accurate and helpful. The host lived up to his title - and made us feel at home. It proved a more than comfortable base from which to see the area, and was within easy reach of both Interlaken Ost and West. The room was clean, comfortable and warm. The facilities were immaculate - including a goodly sized en-suite. read more
