I was to second time in this hotel and was very impressed. Very friendly friendly and accommodating staff. Most understood German very well, if not, you got along with English very well. Two pools, in the back part the hotel with fresh water, the 'main pool' has sea water. Pleasant animation. The food was very good. I have especially after the greek food seized.-) a very small beach directly in front of the hotel, but if you to the left is, 5 minutes, a large and fantastic beach. Nationality of the guests is mixed: Germany, Switzerland, England, Poland and ... France. read more

Since we end of October - beginning November there were in the area unfortunately already lots of shops and taverns closed. The hotel itself we liked. The staff were always friendly and accommodating, It only bothered us a bit, the you during the day drinks only at the bar get could. Food and drinks Of the all inclusive hotels were varied and good, there was something there for every taste. The rooms were clean and spacious, with flatscreen tv, small fridge, air-conditioning and telephone equipped. Furniture and bathroom were in good Condition ( end of the season not always usual). ... Animation was offered, is however not our thing, therefore no review. Outdoor area and pools were clean and after a storm was immediately cleaned again. read more

    we were in the annex the room was spotless. the bed linen and towels were changed regularly. air conditioning and tv were included at no extra charge there was a balcony with two chairs and a small table. plenty of storage space. there was a phone. lighting in the bathroom and bedroon good. beds comfortable.

    there was one restaurant and a pool bar which served afternoon tea - ice cream cornets, cakes and tea or coffee for such a large hotel the quality of the food was excellent. at each meal there was always plenty of choice and plenty of food. all the drinks were good - hot, cold and alcoholic. traditional greek. good salar bar. fresh fruit and lovely deserts. dining areas spotless. tipping is up to you we tipped for good service. friendly atmosphere.

    the staff were very friendly and most of them could speak two or more languages. the head waiter "giannis " was superb and kept his staff on their toes in an unobtrusive way. he remembered us from 2 years revious. there was a laundry service.& safe boxes at an extra charge. a doctor attended the hotel daily. there was an a 4 sheet in the room which gave lots of information about medical and other matters. also a note of how to use the phone internally and for foreign calls.

    3 pool areas with safe areas for children. The pool were clean and the areas around them. There were various activities for all ages during the day and in the evening by a dedicated group of foreign students. Boules, beach vollyball, exercising in the pool and games. A show each night in the theatre and one night a greek dance troupe - very good. There is a gym, sauna, internet access, kids activities. Sunbeds and loungers free and a shower when you come from the beach.

    20 minutes by taxi from the airport. beach across a narrow quiet roadway with umbrellas and loungers - these were charged as an extra. shallow walk in access to the sea. pleasant walks along the sea front with taverna s and a few shops. hotel beach bar free to bracelet holders and charged for others. there is a village a few minutes walk from the hotel with shops, restaurants and bars. there is a shop on site with a card phone.

We moved to this hotel the day after arriving in Gouves and were most delighted as we have actually been put in Hells Bells holiday camp just down the road. People do not go anywhere near the Kalia Beach hotel - it's disgusting. Book Aprhodite for an excellent experience. read more

    Our room was on the first floor overlooking the outside dining area which was absolutely fine as we had a wonderful sea view. We had a fridge was a bonus for the obligatory bottle of water as the weather was very warm for the time of year. And in the bathroom was a proper shower cubicle - ace! Usually it's just a shower tray (if you're lucky) and curtain. The cleanliness as I've said before was spot on, those cleaners do so much.

    The hotel has two bars - one at the main pool which also serves the lounge area and the other at the quiet pool which is very picturesque. Thank you Helena for the drinks at that bar! As far as the food goes, we were all inclusive and my waistline certainly knows about it. The food was hot, plenty of choice and delicious. No-one in their right mind could complain about the choice, there was always something for everybody. The chef on the show cooking stand was very good and the chinese one night was just what we needed, never have I had such good spring rolls.

    Excellent staff - they can't do enough for you. The rooms are clean and airy. We had fresh towels every day and sheets changed three times a week. Our cleaner was lovely and we showed our appreciation by way of a tip. The bar staff and waiters were also great, in particular Giannis the Maitre D in the restaurant was really nice to chat to. He's a very knowledgeable man and we had a very good chat with him one evening. Thank you Giannis!!

    I have to say we didn't join in any sport or entertainment by the main pool, we prefer to watch rather than participate but we missed most of it as we much prefer the beach. There are tons of sunbeds so no need to do the old towel trick although there were a few sticklers. However the top pool was our afternoon haven as most days it was just too hot on the beach! The beach I have to say is pure white sand and really safe and shallow into the water. As soon as you walk in there are loads of little fish who come and swim round your feet :)

    This hotel is situated on the corner overlooking the sea with an elevated pool area, however the best pool is at the other side and much quieter. The main shopping area is just across the road and has everything you could need plus the usual souvineers. The bus stop is at the top of this street where buses are quite regular. You can go either way to Heraklion or Hersonissos or Malia. Check out Malia if you haven't already done so and a walk down the strip is a must. Even though the season is coming to an end It's an eyeopener!

The essensuswahl and the drinks were max 2a 3-stars. A reasonable menu composition was by the monotony of noodles not possible. The beverages had after staff another flavor. The ' bar in the pool' was from the staff only as abstelfläche use, therefore it was for guests closed. The rooms were nice, newly renovated, with the mattress like a steinunterlage felt, what to insomnias led. The hotel was the interior is clean, needs however a kommplet new außenrenovierung. read more

Returned from a 1 week all-inclusive holiday at the Aphrodite Hotel, Gouves (first visit to Crete). A great hotel situated close to the beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable. All staff were friendly and worked hard to make our stay most enjoyable. Especially the restaurant staff, who worked extremely hard, managed by a very competent Giannis. The food was varied and good. The entertainment staff put on some excellent shows at night and kept everyone happy during the day. Overall a great holiday and excellent value for money. read more

Animation and pool area top food poor and monotonous the hotel is partly in need of renovation, I myself would only the entertainment and the pool area visit this hotel again with the back pool there is a bar in which you in the pool can sit but unfortunately you could not to use whatever reason read more

We have a family room in the renovated outbuilding occupied, the decor was rather of a youth hostel reminded us (hard mattresses), but ultimately for a beach vacation was very convenient ( tiles). The service was absolutely satisfactory. The buffets the early-lunch and dinner in the classic food also some Greek specialties and were good quality. All inclusive guests should the bars for alcoholic drinks on the house wines and beer restrict, since the cocktails the all inclusive map tasted at least needed getting used to. For a set from a sun screen and two loungers must at the beach ... bar for one day 5 €fee, despite all inclusive! read more

To a relaxed vacation to spend the hotel is recommendable. No 4 stars just like in Turkey or Egypt but nevertheless ok. Food was good and very tasty. Because of the Reisezeitraums were almost no children in the hotel and therefore also very quiet. It were too many Russian and English guests since, however are the Russian guests not with Russian guests from Egypt comparable. It was very quiet and relaxed. read more

- the hotel is good condition and consists of several buildings. - we were in the main building building, where all rooms renovated. The rooms are nicely equipped. The towels were changed daily, however was not too thoroughly cleaned. - the food was average. The selection of dishes held itself within limits. Very disappointed we were the cleanliness the plates and the cutlery. There were partly leftovers to find. - there was 3 pools. A covered, one large with entertainment program at the main building, as well as a further with the side building, if you your peace to have ... wanted. - the staff were very friendly and accommodating. - overall the hotel is good, but very good, a large piece away. read more

We were 4 girls and had no large expectations in this price, there was also especially the fun in the foreground! But we were really completely contented! We had a new room in the seemingly new building of the hotel! It was really very clean ( also the toilets, the were out of the room). Of course, the food after 4. days a bit monotonous, but you have to always keep in mind, what you would expect, if you only 500, -for a 4 star all inclusive hotel paid! I found the food actually completely reasonable! Not super -spectacular, but ... also not disgusting. ( as a tip: who really wants to eat well, should be in the tavern Avli in Ano gouves go, about 3 kilometers away! Really very recommendable!) For a relatively cheap vacation so really recommendable! Thumbs up! read more

We have just returned from two weeks at this hotel and found the hotel to be good considering how much we paid. The room was nice, clean and tidy. Pools were clean and well maintained, staff at this hotel were very good - Gianny and his wife really make a difference, all staff work very hard and are friendly, food and drink good and the weather fab, local pub called the Anfield, Thomas and his wife very friendly. Overall good hotel for the money and would recommend. We would go back - Paul & Jules. read more

Very nice well-kept, large hotel. There were different room categories. Best price rooms are partly renovated, that means the bathrooms are newly built, the carpets in the rooms are large tiles disappeared. The furniture is already somewhat older, the tv also. Not a problem for us, when we sleep, is the color of the furniture no matter. In every room there is a small fridge and an airco, worked both very good! We had booked all inclusive. In the hotel besides German also many british people, french and russians. From the age everything was nicely mixed. Of very small. To ... very old, everything was there! Something for everyone, or someone!-) Unfortunately left straight during dinner the looks some tourist to be desired. So were the men evenings asked, to wear long trousers, what unfortunately not all has been done. It would have been nice, if the restaurant manager insisting on. Alternatively, this requirement should from the hotel rules be deleted. Either all, or none! read more

    As already described above, we were very satisfied, after we the room change there could. Safe does not exist in the rooms, the are entrance hall, in addition, secure from the reception! ;-) 15.- Euro the week, without deposit!

    In the hotel there are three bars, a the sea water pool, a quiet fresh water pool and down to the hotel's bay. Unfortunately was the offered drinks at the fresh water pool this year really bad. There was of alcoholic drinks only beer, wine and Raki. The last few years you could also, as at the other bars cocktails order. Therefore I also only stars for the service. Such a delicious tequila sunrise by the pool belonged for me on vacation stop it. To eat you have to main building, there, there are a large restaurant. I liked the food, particularly the vegetables, very good. It was at the buffet not very varied, however therefor there was at the show cooking every evening something else. Very wide selection of desserts!

    Very friendly permanent staff. In the service work lots of young seasonal workers various nationalities. English can all very good. We were in the restaurant always very friendly welcomes. At the front desk is also very well speak German. Communication general not a problem. If you need something is good cared! So we got to 3 days on demand a different room ( view of the sea), had a 2. Room key and could on the day of departure the room to evenings keep. The rooms were cleaned daily, towels were changed. Every second day the beds changed.

    The indoor pool and the salt water pool we didn't use. The sea water pool is the entertainment instead, we wanted as rather our peace and at the somewhat remote fresh water pool gone. What the offered drinks there regards, rather bad, see above

    Hotel lies at first beach- respectively features of the bay. To the hotel has a small bay with sun screens and loungers. We have however we didn't use it, were rather by the pool. Over a small street is the blue bar, the from 10° open in the mornings is. Close to the hotel there is a small and neatly arranged shopping street, there, there are also small bars and restaurants. Over excursions I cannot say anything, we have always on your own excursions made. Cars you can very cheap and hassle free rent. So cost our trip to spinalonga (on TUI 56,- Euro per person) us only 10.- Euro. The car we have 30.- Euro rented and on the day also other sights looked at.

Abroad book I never a hotel under 4 stars a reasonably good hotel but the Aphrodite beach has by far not deserved. The stray cats & dogs leave everywhere your business, in the garden area of the hotel and nobody seems to these to remove-very disgusting! read more

    The size of the room is perfectly ok the first impression the room was perfect with beautiful view of the sea but everything else unfortunately not. We had our room the exhaust air of the kitchen, so we with the opening window always the kitchen smells in our room had. So was in the morning and evenings of air around a bit cool, fresh air into the room to not to think. The air conditioning was totally dirty, the filter black. At floors and walls remains of beaten mosquitoes, dust on the headboard from the bed, mold and dirt in the shower. The mini bar was not in the planned closet in the desk with ventilation slits, but in one part from the closet. Without any air circulation, so that the fridge at the start not at all really cold-here we were then forced the cupboard door always a piece of open allow, afterwards worked also the fridge tidy. The balcony door had unfortunately broken and not always close properly, we had the trick sometime, the cleaning lady unfortunately not, so that we sometimes into the room came back and the balcony door was open. In the room there is no safe, only down in the lobby. In a extra spatial ( during the day unlocked) is possible a few very old lockers with drawers you lock-it wasn't very vertrauenerweckend, so we always everything with us lugged or in the luggages in the room included. These seemed safer than the' safe' in the entrance area.

    There's a restaurant, 2 bars and a pool bar The meals were too many bad, tasted a catastrophe, partially dry as papier-mache, the noodles way too soft. The one now nothing at all could find something tasty, I would not say, one evening there was Gyros the for example was very good. But despite all inclusive we have 4 of 7 days ate out-I think this alone speaks for itself. The atmosphere is more like a cafeteria than a restaurant and cleanliness - well. The tablecloths looked sometimes than would have the guests before to eat no plates used, the skirtings of the buffet were are jahren about not more changed and if I then mitbekomme as a staff of the kitchen with the filling up of the buffet across the desserts coughs - I am sorry then passes me finally appetite.

    The lady at the reception spoke good German, but except a 'hello, your travel documents and passes please' was at the check-in not much friendliness to expect. After we had explained where our room is, we got the key and a note into your hand with the words' here is the key and on the note, you will find that everything further' On the issue of our state we were given the short answer ' the there is only today afternoon back' The staff in the restaurant was a disaster. Mostly moved the staff faces than if you work pound would, some moved so slowly being shoes with the new walk sole could. Dishes, cutlery and glasses were rarely correctly cleanly, if you service staff pointed out you only mean looked at and then a greek something vorgebrummelt. Speak greek we both not, but due to the pitch I would say, that it definitely not something friendly wilmington. Only the staff at the bar was mostly-attentive and in a good mood. Here you served in a friendly manner, especially a waiter was very accommodating, friendly and guests very hard. The rooms were cleaned daily, the bed linen however not once, but the towels every day ( even if this not on the floor lay) changed. Unfortunately there was often the mat and the cleanliness the towels sometimes left a lot to be desired.

    There are 2 pools and a beach directly in front of the hotel, this we however not used. In the pool with of the pool bar is a the water only until the hip and it is terrible cold Loungers there are adequate and also at 12 was always a place. We rather the sandy beach some hundred meters away from the hotel used. 2 loungers and a sun screen costs here 6 Euro The beach falls completely flat from and the water is wonderful

    The hotel is about 20 minutes away from Heraklion airport, however also in the entry lane, but you not really and so is not disturbing. Purchase- and entertainment possibilities in gouves one next to the other. Not far behind the hotel there is the shopping in the small supermarkets, souvenir shops and bars/ restaurants concatenate. And also on the beach promenade is a restaurant ( bar) next to the other. For 4 the 7 days we had a car rented, therefore we could of gouves from the villages agios nicolaos, Malia, chersonissos and Heraklion, as well as the lasithi-plateau reach, only to Rethymnon we were more than 1 hour.

With a high expectation we joined the vacation in Kreta and were frustrated as we in the carelessly equipped hotel room arrived. The bathroom too small for two people, the bathtub moldy and the towels not clean. In bed could one each individual feather/spring feel and a house-dust allergy in such a room also, of course, very suitable! Furthermore it was actually biggest fault of the hotel the buffet. The limited selection of dishes was first already not at all Greek and secondly either too greasy or too dry and hard in the stomach ( otherwise was the orange juice ... probably rather cheap Fanta-well-behaved mixture). Also were the leisure offers within limits, because gouves is a rather small village and if one wants to see something, is the longer Running times and costs. For vacationers middle Ages perhaps appropriate, but for US inappropriate, I can't recommend this hotel! read more
