We were a weekend as a couple there. This hotel is so familiar, friendly, clean, bright, new and we slept good, like in this hotel \u263a With us everything fit, very recommendable, we are very much looking forward to go back and are our son also take (very suitable for children). During the winter months the hotel has only a limited operation the swimming pool and the restaurant are not open. Great hotel an outstanding location, partly newly renovated, extremely friendly staff. Mattress rather hard, nothing for soft -loungers-Familiar (the new rooms are possibly decorated differently?). The breakfast and the dinner were great, the atmosphere in the dining room pleasant and modern. Peacefully located, however sound-proofed. With small children, the night restless are, ( the other guests sake ) definitely not suitable (in the 'old' part; Neuanbau we cannot judge) Ascona is easy to reach on foot, by bus or car. Room ( see to earlier Entry - opinion of the customer) Missing here clearly the air conditioning, which already earlier guests criticized. Around 35 °C it was simply not sleep, the sauna feeling is relentless a, which surely also by the sweat -Hygiene - the bed linen, mattresses etc. This torture participate. -> but it was 1 air conditioning in the attic room, probably without this measure over 40° heated would have been. We can not understand, why one also in the new building at the air conditioning relinquished! If you do not feel comfortable ( included sleep well); is ... the value for money immediately not more all judged objectively. We stayed 2 nights at the collinetta and hand because of the 100% recommendation when HolidayCheck booked and on the other hand, because it is a Swiss Wochenendführer as a secret tip recommended. After we then the reviews just studied, we learned, that the hotel no climate had. Since we had however already booked and hoped, that it was not so hot it would be. Positive is the location, because it is located above and a wonderful views of the lake and the mountains offers. The staff members were all very friendly and are equipped with good German language skills. ... They were then but also the pluses. For our stay it was very hot (32 degrees) and at night was not at all think. It was unbearably hot and humid in the room despite open window. It came naturally also mosquitoes, the US in addition awake held. Also the room general, especially the bathroom, needs a renovation. But the US not at all bother us, as it is only a three star hotel is. But an air conditioner in this region, should be definitely in addition belong. The breakfast was not brilliant, exactly like the dinner. Some of our previous reviewer had said, that both the food, as well as the collinetta itself, even 4 * level could, what we absolutely not understand. Another downside is, that the breakfast time starting from 7:30 A. M. is. Since we there on business and on the first day early had an appointment, we could perforce not have breakfast and had with empty stomach go. In short: persons, the earlier than 7:30 A. The collinetta is a three star hotel at great location with great view. The staff are very friendly and the food is very good. It is quiet and comfortable. The three star hotel is very nice on the Lake Maggiore about two kilometer of Ascona location. The panoramic view from our mini suite on the first floor was very unique. However, our stays was some construction noise due to affect the roof terrace. The hotel restaurant is very recommendable, the evening four course menu was offered with one exception really delicious. The mini suite declared modern double room is for equipment and size rather than double room superior to classify. Overall the price level is more like a four stars hotel, all the amenities but only three stars. The ... hotel is recommended for older travelers, about 80% of the guests were from the generation 50 +. read more

Summer vacation with our three year old son: we had the suite with fanastischem view over the lake, it was great food, no child care expected, but that was not necessary, therefor kids preferred service (for example, the choice of food in the evening), the hotel was just renovated from scratch with a new building with first class guest rooms and architecture the new restaurant, this first-class location directly above the lake and a view of the lake and the mountains-great! read more
