The Amination Team were entertaining, Friendly and good at their jobs. Gemma and Suzanna were friendly and extremely helpful. We would return. This is our second visit and we would return. The food is excellent and the omelette Chef was extremely welcoming. The rooms were spacious and clean. Our view of the Red Sea was stunning from the 7th floor. read more

Smaller hotel resort than some, one of the few that does not allow children under 14. Compact with no long walks to restaurants. Small pool but heated in winter so lovely and warm all year. Fantastic food. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. I can not praise it enough. read more

    Can not fault it. If you give small tips (say £1 coin or 10 Egyptian pounds) you are likely to get amazing towel sculptures each day....we had an elephant, a monkey (hanging!) and swans.

    This was my first trip but my Mum's 4th to same hotel. She felt the food had been improved. It is high quality with lots of choices served in 4 different restaurants. Chef Ashraf works hard to keep the clientele happy and seems, somehow to be in all the restaurants at the same time! There are various themed nights. There is always plenty of fresh salad and fruit but you can also get chips and beef burgers if you so desire. The Arabian restaurant is particularly good. The beach restaurant serves really good kebabs...far superior to the UK versions.

    Can not fault it. Cleaners, waiters and hospitality staff all do their jobs well. Hotel evening entertainment could be improved but apparently new team in place. Lots of daytime activities...stretching, water gym, belly dancing. People will try to sell you extras such as spa treatments, dive trips, quad biking etc but this is usually only on the first day, if you don't want them, say no and they won't hassle you further.

    Heated pool which is excellent. Smallish for size of hotel but never crowded. I swam in early evening and was often only pool user. No kids splashing about of course. The manmade lagoon is also nice for swimming. There is actually some really nice sea life just outside the lagoon for snorkelers. Coral has colonized the metal structure supporting the "beach", there are some lovely fishes there as well. You can swim with great shoals of silver fish, I don't know what they are but they seem to have little fear of humans! Great for people new to snorkeling as you can get your confidence in the lagoon before venturing on a boat trip. There is a dive centre offering the usual dive/ snorkeling trips to the sort of amazing dive sites you expect from Red Sea.

    10-15 walk to marina (depending on how many shops you're dragged into on the way!) Little of interest (apart from good souvenir shop across the road) in immediate surroundings. Hurghada feels a little "edgy" at night but I think is basically fairly safe, particularly if you stick to main roads. The marina is very nice, very clean, western feeling but you need to be in the main town and sit at a typical Egyptian coffee shop to properly experience Egyptian life. Be open to the change in culture and you could have a really magical experience and meet some really interesting people. If you're less adventurous get a hotel limousine to the Marina but do venture out of hotel..it is well worth it. Obviously in the shops bartering is expected, never pay full price for anything!

I travelled with my sister, mum and dad. We relaxed most of the week on the beach, didn't join in with any animation activities but became good friends with Tito and Gemma. The service was very good in the restaurants and on the beach. read more

We visited the hotel for the 8th time. Every time the staff gives us the feeling of coming home again and that's no theatre, the realy mean it! The quality of the food increases even every visit. Perhaps serve a better red wine. Maybe it's an idea to warm the plates before using, to hold the temperature from the food a little bit longer. The excursions with the boat leaving from the hotel are very reccomandable. General conclusion: we surely return to this wonderfull hotel, our second home. read more

The Hotel is a very well positioned for Hurghada, if you fancy a walk or a short drive in. Most of the staff are very friendly and the standard of the communal areas is very high. They work very hard to keep it all clean and t shows. We thought the cleanliness was excellent - our rooms were cleaned every day and we were left lovely towel designs by our cleaner. We did change rooms after the first night as we were aware of the Cabaret and as we were here for a relaxing holiday but also had two early ... starts for trips, we wanted the best nights sleep possible. Our second room was excellent - very spacious and we started to relax immediately. We had a lovely balcony which overlooked the Sea, pool bar and Garden. We would definitely stay here again. Our stay was based on 'All Inclusive' and the food was outstanding. So much choice and fresh food. We never dined at the Beach Cafe so I couldn't comment on that but the choice was extensive. On the Sunday, they organised a Sunday Roast and I have to say it was lovely - they also made the best tomato soup I've ever tasted! The Beer was good but after tasting the red wine and spirits, they weren't really for us. However we did have a lovely bottle of sparkling wine on our last night - delicious. There was a wide range of nationalities staying and there was a older clientèle. This didn't bother us as we were there to relax and it was nice not to have kids running around! read more

    Our second room was lovely and spacious. A few minor maintanance issue with the first room but mainly due to noise for the Cabaret for us. I'm sure other people would be fine with it. Everything worked well in the second room and the condition was good and it was kept clean.

    As previously stated the food and restaurant choices were excellent - I think even if I was staying for two weeks. The quality and quantity of the food was excellent - couldn't be bettered. The drinks were a little different but the beer was fine but we noticed the spirits all came out of one bottle depending on what you had! Generally though everything was a high standard and the atmosphere certainly made up for the spirits. Nothing was too much trouble for most of the staff and we really did start to relax by day two. We did visit the Jungle Disco for one nights entertainment 'Comedy Show'. I wondered how the team would manage with so many different nationalities. Generally everyone seemed to enjoy it but as an Singer myself, I thought the singer in the bar wasn't great. I'd be happy to come back as the singer!

    On the whole the staff were very friendly and very helpful. People worth a mention are our room cleaner (sorry I can't remember his name) we were staying in 540 though. He was lovely and when my room key didn't work he came to help me during his lunch break|! Also all of the waiters were lovely, but especially Afwan in the Arabian nights restaurant and Aladdin in the Aida and Mediterranean Restaurant. We did generally tip throughout the holiday but not every day - we preferred to tip when we received good service.

    Excellent facilities. The pool was cleaned every evening and even the sand was raked every evening! The beach was lovely and well maintained as well as the gardens and the the day we left, men were cleaning the windbreakers/screens. The sea is so clear as well - you can see all the fish even if you're paddling!

    The Hotel had the perfect location. Only 15 minutes drive from the Airport and a short walk into Hurghada and about 15 mins to the Marina. The surrounding areas are typical for Egypt and don't be afraid to say 'no' to the street vendors but on the whole it all adds to the experience. Our Hotel Rep ( Thomas Cook) was excellent at advising us on how to deal with things and also the best places to go to. The hotel itself has a few shops as well and we bought most of our souvenirs from here. Martin in the convenience store was very friendly and helpful as was Mani in the perfume store. The Cafe du Jour is separately run but you can get wifi - if you want it for the price of a coffee or a good vodka! We had already booked our excursions previously but the choice offered seemed good and Hurghada is an excellent location for the majority of the sights. We travelled to Cairo and Luxor and although they were long days - it was excellent.

Although the hotel is huge and has many rooms, within a couple of days we found our way around very easily, as there are signs everywhere and helpful people all over the place! It was ALWAYS clean and tidy, wherever we went within the hotel and every member of staff we encountered were very friendly and informative. We were all inclusive and never went hungry or thirsty! There were a whole range of guests, predominantly from UK and Germany and I would say around 70% of them were 50+. read more

    We had everything we needed in our twin room, the beds were comfortable (although the pillows were a little lumpy!), great TV (the Fox movies channel kept us entertained later on in the evening) hairdryer in the bathroom, walk in shower (no dreaded curtain!) fridge, a free safe and the room was the perfect size for 2 people to be comfortable. They were clean and we had bottled water every day (it did say we should get soft drinks too, but we didn't see them, but this didn't bother us as you could get them anywhere else within the hotel).

    The food here is fantastic!! There are 3 main restaurants, all very good and our favourite was the Arabian one on the 3rd floor. A whole different variety of food (hot and cold) every night and they even did a Sunday Roast, which I would definitely recommend, (the beef wellington, Yorkshire puddings and gravy were all AMAZINGLY delicious!). There is a smaller restaurant, Aida, near the pool which was great and a bar/food place near the beach, which did fantastic burgers and fresh pizzas (very delicious!). The dining areas were always very clean too.

    Every member of staff was friendly and helpful, I really can't fault them at all and most of the staff were bi-lingual, so communication was never a problem. Room cleaning was pretty standard. There was one day where they turned up at 5.15pm, but we'd just come back from the beach and wanted to rest, so turned them away, but if you are a stickler for having a clean room EVERY day, then just mention it at reception and I can guarantee that a cleaner will be there within 10 minutes! The only negative feedback (it wasn't really a complaint) was when we tried the a la carte Mediterranean restaurant. My friend had a chicken kiev but it was very dry and my 'fillet' steak was very thin and bland, but we mentioned it the chef and asked us to come and try it again. Unfortunately we were at the end of our holiday so had a last nights booked up, so the chef offered to cook a chicken kiev especially for my friend that night, which was really good of him! We loved the buffet restaurant food, so thanked him and said it wouldn't be necessary, but really appreciated the efforts they go too when something isn't right.

    Every day there was something to do for all ages from volley ball, aqua gym/aerobics, stretching exercises, French bowls and belly dancing! The private beach was fantastic and clean and the sea is beautiful and clear. One thing to bear in mind is you have to get up pretty early (7/7.30am) to grab sun beds with shade, but that’s pretty standard wherever you go in the world! The evening entertainment didn't really float our boat. The disco music was predominantly R&B and hip hop, not really our kind of music (but it was funny watching the older generation bopping along!), and the Jungle bar was a bit dark and dingy, but you could smoke in there! I am a big karaoke fan but unfortunately karaoke night was the day I flew home, so I was a bit gutted, but you can sit around the hotel and people watch (which we loved doing!) and have your drinks brought to you!

    Although the hotel is huge and has many rooms, within a couple of days we found our way around very easily, as there are signs everywhere and helpful people all over the place! It was ALWAYS clean and tidy, wherever we went within the hotel and every member of staff we encountered were very friendly and informative. We were all inclusive and never went hungry or thirsty! There were a whole range of guests, predominantly from UK and Germany and I would say around 70% of them were 50+.

    The flight from Gatwick took 4.5 hours on the way out and 5.5 hours on the way back. The hotel is only 15 minutes away from Hurghada airport which is a brilliant transfer time, especially when you just want to get out into the sun! The Sunrise Hotel has its own private beach, so you quite literally leave the hotel and you are on the beach. Usually I'm not a fan of the beach, but I really loved it, plus I got a brilliant tan and it's literally a minute walk to get food/drinks or even pop to the loo! There are a number of shops within the hotel, so you can get pretty much anything from shoes, to perfume to spices! There is also a great health spa where I had a sauna and steam, then a full body massage (definitely recommend this if you're looking to chill out on holiday!) and a fantastic salon where I had a brilliant facial (they do thread (removing all your hair with a piece of cotton - it's very clever!) your whole face though which was a little bit of a shock, but totally worth it ;0) There are a number of excursions on offer, but we were not interested in doing anything, but I would recommend going to the Welcome meeting as Mohammad (Thomas Cook Rep) certainly knows his stuff and will recommend the best, most cost effective ones to do!

Just come back from the best 10 days out there ever, I was a little apprehensive about going to Egypt but after arriving all that disappeared. The place was so welcoming, the staff couldn't have been more attentive, and the hotel was completely spotless, I was forever seeing staff going around cleaning, not something I'm used to at all, so it was a pleasant change and surprise. It's a no children hotel, which made a lovely change from the screaming ones you get everywhere else, sounds awful but not being splashed 24/7 around the pool was just lovely. read more

    The room was a little small, but then what sort of size do you really need? You only use it for getting ready and sleeping really, the rest you're out by the pool or on a day trip. But our room was kept so clean, everyday our cleaning came in with fresh sheets and towels, even had some towel art which was brilliant, how they can make swans out of towels is beyond me! We had a small problem with our fridge on the first day, we reported it and by the time we got back to our room it had been fixed, we had shaving points, hair dryer, tv and kettle with all the bits and pieces, not that we used much of it, we were too busy having fun!

    I'm a very fussy eater, and not once did I have trouble trying to find something to eat, the choice was brilliant, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, they also cooked food fresh for you like grilled fish, steak and koftas, which were amazing. There was also a salad chef in the El Sol restaurant that would make you fresh salads containing whatever you wanted. There were 4 restaurants in total excluding the beach bar. The one on the beach was only open for breakfast and lunch, but it had air con, so it was really refreshing to go down there, there was El Sol and the Mediterranean on the 2nd and 3rd floor, both buffet service with a brilliant choice of food, and there was also an Al A Carte restaurant on the 1st floor, but you had to book, but again, the food was brilliant and cooked to perfection. Waiters were brilliant, making sure you had enough to drink, and that your dining experience was up to scratch and the standard it should be. Every restaurant I went in was spotless, waiters were quick to clean up after someone had left, and there was never a dirty plate left on your table for long either.

    The staff couldn't have helped us anymore if they'd tried, we had one waiter called Mustafa who became our personal waiter, remembered our drinks order from the first night and the table that we sat at, I've never had that anywhere else before! The staff were just brilliant, always a smile to be had and making sure that you were okay throughout the day too. Our room was cleaned everyday, even had some towel art as well, so I was very excited about that! We had a problem with our fridge when we arrived, we told the staff on the reception, and when we came back in later that day, it had been fixed, brilliant complaint control! And ours wasn't even really a complaint.

    I don't think an animation team has had me laughing quite as much before, they're forever on the go, with a brilliant range of activities to do including yoga, beach volleyball , belly dancing, aqua gym and darts to name a few. Cancan was on the mic cracking everyone up with his comedic value, and the rest of the team were brilliant, big big big shout out to Gemma, TIto, Suzanna and Franchesco who were brilliant, always stopped to talk to you to see how the day was going, and the occasional push in the pool if you weren't on guard, of course we got them back though, it's how it works! They put on a show every night at 9:30 in the jungle disco and every night it had me in stitches, such a funny bunch of people that get along really well. At half 11, if you wanted to go out to a club, the team would take you out to a local club, it was a different one every night, discounted entry and free drinks for the women regularly. When you got tired, you mentioned it to one of the team and they brought you back to the hotel. Couldn't ask for a better team to entertain throughout the day and night. They made my holiday with the antics they got up to! There was always a sunbed available whether it be on the beach or by the pool, and both were kept absolutely spotless, staff were walking around making sure you had everything you needed, and if not they'd get it for you.

    The hotel was right in the middle of the town centre, so there was shops left and right of the complex, including some nightclubs which were great too. It was only a short walk to the marina, which I recommend you go down to, the place is unbelievable, it's so beautiful and the food down there is just amazing, go and try The Lodge with their amazing camel steak! If you don't want to walk the hotel can get you a taxi for 4 Egyptian pounds return, that's 40p there and back... The scenery from the hotel is incredible, the hotel looks out onto the Red Sea and it just goes for miles, my camera is filled with brilliant photos of it, I couldn't believe just how much it looked like paradise!

We again choose the sunrise holiday resort for our March holiday. The weather was fabulous, up to 40 degrees C just right for sunbathing and a few beers.The hotel atmosphere is laid back and relaxing, with a very attentive management team making sure the clients were looked after, and all problems resolved quickly and with as little fuss as possible. The food again is first class and with such variety there is always something for everyone. The animation team were on top form,full of energy and lots of personalities, we had lots of laughter and enjoyable times.This ... is the only hotel where the management team on a daily basis ask if you are happy and if they could do anything to make things better, how refreshing! This is the best hotel in which I have been in my entire life. We vacationed with friends in March. This hotel, in which you can go, basically, and without the company, because you're still with someone there to meet you. Wonderful service, all friendly and polite. Beautiful interior. The hotel is situated in a good location. Restaurant, beach, rooms - everything is fine. Just a great team of animators. Sveta, Francesco, Afef, Zizo, Gemma. But most important - Cancun!! He keeps the whole team. This is a real shef animator. Without it, life would be boring. All of these ... details are the main components of the hotel. It is a mostly renovated hotel (only the 6. and 7. floor not yet). The hotel is large enough, the many guests not as overwhelming experience, but not too big in order to run and to keep the overview. It has 5 restaurants (2 in buffet form with changing and 1 à la carte, 1 beach bar and 1 beach restaurant) In this hotel are no children. ... This has once again really enjoyed. read more

    This time we are in the family suite on the 6. floor experienced. The rooms have a size of about 50 square meter. A private living room and a small bar shall form an integral part of, and a 6-foot-wide balcony with privacy. The bedroom is in a separate room (with frosted glass sliding door) kept with a large bed. The furniture is ok and fully functional. Since we are still in a non-renovated rooms were we had a bathtub. The bathroom is very big. The room would be cleaned daily and the towels changed daily.

    In comparison to december 2012 is the food already better. Our advice have been put in place, which we very much appreciate. The chef ashraf was also in this holiday again mashed potatoes with spinach and fried eggs cooked. It was better than in december! Generally the selection in the restaurants alright. You have multiple side dishes to choose from, fish, meat, vegetarian. The dessert buffet was super! The buffet had daily changing dishes. Drinks were quickly slow serves. Unfortunately, there was at the breakfast buffet no real coffee. There are 2 coffee automats, the even Café Latte offer, really tasty but not. There was certainly a better deal!

    If you a few moody employees apart, is the service in this hotel good. At the front desk at least english was spoken, there is however also a (saif), the german speaks. Saif is, wherever possible, the things at the front desk to solve. The hotel itself has german urlaubsbetreuerinnen. Doris and other (new). Specially Doris we would like to express our thanks, because it has again without blinking our 'problem' competent and implemented as soon as possible. With Andrea we unfortunately had in the 14 days not much contact, but also at them you can turn and it helps.

    In this hotel are no children permitted, however if the weather allows, the entertainment outside by the pool in progress. This leads until 22 o'clock a good background noise. The hotel is situated right at the sea and still has a man-made beach, which with a man-made reef is connected to. So if you in the open sea swam out, was directly small swarms of fish at.

    In 5 minutes you are in the city center, in 15 minutes at the airport. In the city center you can tidy shopping (we recommend the cleopatra bazaar (red logo with white cleopatra head) and shops where a 'no huzzle' sign hangs. Otherwise one must unfortunately accustom the other shops to ignore. Bars, cafés and restaurants are also in the immediate area.
