Depends on what you want: The unique lake Louise there is 2 minutes, Lake Louise village is about 15 car minutes away, but only has about a few souvenir shops and a restaurant.

The deer lodge in Lake Louise is located in the second row behind the famous Chateau Lake Louise, the old, traditiosnsreichen luxury hotel in Banff National park, whether you to confirm this, is certainly a matter of opinion. The stylish and cozy lodge fits the reviewers better in the breathtaking scenery around the lake Louise as the chateau. The nature Hotel links up to the time of the Wild West, the time of the first white Kundschaftler and, in this area and vorstießen settled. The hotel is in spite of the lack of seeblick-a real feel-good hotel. And the Lake ... View has one after a few steps of the fresh, mostly cool air of the Canadian Rockies. The deer lodge is the only Canadian collection Hotel in my Canadian hotels, which is also suitable for a longer stay. Also, there is the lake Louise as starting point for excursions and hikes in the best way suitably. I can think of no better place between Jasper and Banff present, with the surrounding national parks to erkuden, by car or on one of the many hiking trails. Here but, as with many old hotels with different rooms, that the election of a beautiful room is crucial. This time we had a better deal as 2010, where this hotel and was positive. So is only a short addition. The service is friendly, the breakfast was the best of our two Kanadaaufenthalte and the restaurant is still very good. Where else is out there is such a wide range of steaks (Moose, caribou, deer, Bisson, Alberta-beef). The deer lodge is subject to the conditions I rated the hotel to my Topfavoriten-I am not looking for a luxury hotel but with so called international flair. read more

Very nice kuschliges hotel in a fantastic location, walking distance to only three minutes walk to the lake louise. The rooms are very recommendable to heritage, wonderful combination of old and modern. By the age of the hotel difficult is it for the handicapped, as there are no elevators. Wonderful charm, a lodge where you forget the time, absolute well feeling crazily. We have really enjoyed our stay. read more

The Deer lodge in the second row on the beautiful Lake Louise fits through their North American Lodge style very good in the mountains of the Canadian Rockies. The hotel is small and unobtrusive next to the right on the lake, grand hotel The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, whose location without a doubt is spectacular. The hotel is clean, especially the bathrooms, although a lot could have been carefully renovated, not been updated, in particular the carpets. The hotel has u. A. A nice lounge. Here you can get Bed & Breakfast-atmosphere. Breakfast (up to 19 CAN $), lunch and ... dinner (main course up to 40 CAN $) you can at the very good restaurant and is charged separately. read more

Our first through Expedia prebooked on the internet room was small and significantly more expensive than the room for the spontaneous second night. During our stay (June) you could have been anywhere still room, we never used a sign "no vacancies" seen. The hotel features both rooms two beds (either two queen-size or a queen sized bed and a king size) with good mattresses. The furniture is a bit well worn but perfectly acceptable. Modern furniture would also be careful not to lodge-character. The bathroom of our first room was small, the second extremely big, but ended up with the same equipment -- except for a convenient small table for the storage of bath amenities. Except for the dryer wasn't miss anything. The hotel has free wireless internet, but only in the salon work.

  • Gastronomy

The highlight of the Deer lodge is without doubt their restaurant. The buffet breakfast is almost the European layout but upscale hotels. Beside the usual heavy American breakfast the Pioniertage there is cereals, cereals, even different hams, Rostbeef, different cheeses, lots of fruit and acceptable bread and pastries. The breakfast was the best on our trip. The restaurant offers various steaks for dinner from the Elk (Wapiti), Caribou (reindeer) and by the specific bovine ALBERTA's, everything very delicious. There are a few good wines (from Canada, USA and Australia or, New Zealand) as well as good Canadian beer in several kinds of. You will enjoy the restaurant nice views of the surrounding mountain Giants.

  • Service
    6.0

At the hotel, the staff was friendly, even in the attached restaurant extremely friendly. All in all, you can not complain about the service for this category of hotel. Foreign language skills (except maybe french) you will not expect in Western Canada. You could without any English skills. E. North America only in a group travel.

  • Sport & Entertainment

The hotel also features a sauna, sun deck with jacuzzi. The near Lake invites you to canoeing a, but could be for swimming for most people always be too cold; well, he is the half-year icy! A Gletschersee! Apart from that the region as paradise for hikers -- and Bärengebiet. For anicipation hiking is so no shortage; but most busy paths were from bears avoided. We stayed on our hike to the Plain of the six Glacör Lookout no see a bear -- luckily. But near Icefields Parkway several Schwarzbären and even a Grizzly, about what a rarity is protected by the car or in a supposedly safe away.

In few minutes walk you can easily walk to the Lake Louise, the most photographed lake in the Rocky Mountains, The hotel is an ideal starting point for hikes. The crackling open is nothing short of spectacular (14km, 400 meters altitude, 5 -6 hours) for Plain of six Glacier Lockout with a nearby view of the Viktoria glacier. This is done by taking a separate Travel Tip set. In the town Lake Louise itself (approx. 4 km) is a, among other things, a smaller supermarket and more hotels, their location but distinct disadvantage.
