This was the most amazing holiday ever, The hotel manager Antonio runs a fantastic hotel,his staff are all friendly and helpful I fact they all went out of there way to make our holiday the best ever. The bathrooms do need some upgrading but are adequate Even the gardeners are happy smiley people,each day I had coconut water fresh from the tree and a beautiful flower. The restaurant staff were fantastic so helpful and attentive especially the staff on the right side of the restaurant,beautiful people The excursions were all fantastic,except the Trinidad trip which was ... a disappointment,it would of been nice to stay in Trinidad town not a motel 15 minutes out this spoilt the excursion the guide also was not the best. Thank you to everyone at sol we had a wonderful time,fantastic memories to treasure read hotel review

We had the highest room class included vip package for 4 days. After we entered the room it was clear, that it is not what we had booked and from vip no trace. So the reception: the staff behind fact, as he would have noticed, that we bottle the room and that the booked vip package from the tour operator was below average. A room, which the class was no longer freely and the vip package on sunday (15 hours) not more can be organised. The hotel was good the four times per night as our other accommodations which were ... always perfectly clean, there was no confusion in the rooms and no waiting periods. The beginning of your stay in Sol cayo guillermo would not be worse After a beautiful holiday across Cuba should these strandtage a relaxing end to his. But of relaxation only no trace. The employees showed little willingness to solve the problem and wanted to charge us off on the next day. With only 4 days this is an unimaginably bad solution. Only on my insistence on the first day a better room to get it was then find and could he offered, which was not the booked room was but still was better than the first. The vip package could not be arranged, but directly on the next morning delivered to our room. Day 2: Once again to the reception. Rooms only from afternoon free. Vip package will be in the new room, so not from morning available. In the afternoon the new rooms looked at:on the first view in order, on the 2. nose but unfortunately not. It smelled of urine and not in the bathroom as you might suspect would, but in the proximity of the bed. Of vip package also nothing to see. So, back to the front desk. To this day there was only this free room in our category. Since we in no case in a room to sleep to want in the urine smells, we are in our courtesy room we could have stayed longer. Vip package should then later in the afternoon on the courtesy room are supplied. Indeed, a small part of the package in the early night. Day 3: Back to the front desk. Now we have the courtesy room of them (including short distance to the beach) and there we no desire for the other 2 days the bags and unpacking. The was luckily possible. Demand vip package: now, for the first time, said, that some of them (for example, bathrobes) is currently not in the area are available. Up to this time there was also the welcome-dink not (i need not necessarily, but in sum, for many things money paid and only a fraction of that). The remaining missing things should then in the course of the day in the room arrived. A part of which came in the afternoon, it was still something missing, but i was suffering so much time of my stay at the front desk and there were as welcome drink no essential things. It annoyed it still. Occasionally gets the manager to phone rings but if you apart you can hear anyone talking, so a joke, but the phone is ringing up further before itself. After a minute it is then quiet. Since i want to know, why i called will go back to the front desk. I have been asked, whether the restaurant reservation has arrived. Yes, it was. Felt was now more to help us. Until there is only something happens, when i (several times) inquired and then often only unsatisfactory. On demand, whether the telephone a permanent or temporary disruption has, i was told, that it a few months ago a storm and so the phones not go. As i wonder, why i called shall, if it does not go. Day 4: Telephone rings around 7:50 a. m. Come back to the same technical problem. I hear anyone and if i auflege rings it further. At this early time i think, as what bad perhaps for the family Germany happened, that i so early called will. So once again to the reception. There is nothing bad happened. Okay, relief. The reason of call: whether now everything is to our satisfaction. I just think, that is not their austere. I am to stay and may want to sleep in and i will then on a telephone call what does not work? A bit stunned i go back to the hotel room and prefer telefonstecker. The efforts of the staff a relaxing holiday are a bit strange. Day 5: Departure. We had late check-out (15 hours) booked, since we only in the afternoon further wanted travel. Already at 11 o'clock we not more into the room. The way i know already recite - to the front desk. Short description to service, staff, food, location, beach. Staff: in another review i have 'tip-cool' read. This is quite good. If the service was good, i would like to give tips, but here you have something to give benefit from good service to come. The i knew and i was therefore very strange. So i was so carelessly and secondary service. I would probably 20 Euro per day many different staff must invest for better service to get. It concerned all areas: bar, reception, restaurant, cleaning. Due to the zimmerproblematik i was on this subject then not easy to speak and i just continue as a person 2. great treat. The warmth and joie de vivre of the people of Cuba, i then met, was in this hotel, unfortunately not to feel. Food: there was a lot and plentiful. But i would the mark 2 give, for a 1 variety was not adequate and the last refinement was missing. Beach and sea: the main reason why i on this island drove. The nature was not disappointed. It was really fantastic. But the management and the staff of the hotel no happy chicken. The beach chairs (which it enough gave) were sometimes in the dunes or kreuz and across the beach spread. With very little effort could have been a staff that once a day (in the morning) really toilet requisites. It had partly a very unkempt impression. Seaweed on the beach were scraped together very good! But then again, a big mistake: the seaweed were on the dunes tilted. A kind of dune compost heaps between beach and hotel. It is not nice, worse but the who are ensnared sand fleas or mosquitoes a very steep tracktieren can. Room amenities: the best years had the room, we saw definitely behind it. • balcony door which barely opened/closed since everything was rusted is • large water stain on on the wall • broken drawer in the closet • mould in the shower • lack of stones in the floor covering in the shower • tray in the shower was just before fall off • missing cover the showering lining • cleanliness - oh well, a good-intentioned 4 • sheets has stains of various kinds and color (what it was i don't know) Overall i was very much disappointed of the hotel and the nature very impressed. Despite many indications, that in Cuba not always everything smoothly or time worked, was in hindsight i amazed how well everything before the stay worked well. In a spanish hotel chain (melia) to the Sol cayo guillermo with 4 stars, the abovementioned points not happen. Especially, if the price think. The private apartments worked well and it's just a fraction of cost. Conclusion Cuba is definitely worth a visit, this hotel is not. read hotel review

On cayo guillermo are only 4 hotels: Hotel cayo guillermo sol +:beach, location, on-site gourmet restaurant -:buffet (atmosphere as concourse ), from the reception too few info on vip package, that we had booked, on the island can only everyone (no choice of other restaurants, bars, etc.) Conclusion: since it was only 4 hotels on the island returns, and cayo guillermo super for swimming is, we would recommend the hotel. Otherwise not really. read hotel review

Very beautiful hotel at very nice beach. Karibik relaxation with palm trees in the white sand and turkisem water. The boat trip around the corner an absolute must. The food was very good and with a lot of variation. Always freshly and no waiting (except when it lobster all-you-can-eat for all was, but that is normal). Very friendly waiter, not on tip are. Great garden and beach. Price is unfortunately in comparison to other toured hotels in Cuba bit too high. read hotel review

    Very large and huge beds. Well furnished, great bathroom, air conditioning, TV, nice terrace, minibar filled with water, safe at no extra charge, telephone. Newly renovated in 2009 and very clean. The maids also build some funny animals from the beach towels.

    There is a main restaurant (breakfast, lunch, dinner) which has three types of meals, i.e. something grilled, some fresh pasta dishes or pizzas. The food was wonderful. Then there are two speciality restaurants - here you can also eat lobster (for little money - as it's not planned in AI). Food was great. 2 bars - there are all kinds of drinks and small snacks for lunch, such as hot dogs or burgers etc.

    Staff were extremely friendly. As a German you were rather exotic, as the hotel is mainly booked by Canadians, Argentinians and English. Nevertheless, staff adjusted to us a little bit more every day and spoke some more German which was delightful.

This could be a few years ago a good hotel. Everything was very worn. Especially the drains should be renewed. For many vacationers did smell in the bathroom for days so, that you had to hurry but very ☹ Food: Quantity: Yes. Quality: No. Everything seemed very lackluster-from the decor to the service Dealing with complaints-a small anecdote: Our remote control for the air conditioner didn't work, no batteries because it were. In the recipe. you told me, it would be the same one which (I should go to our room). After two hours I went back to the recipe. ... I asked, if he does not give the batteries just could. This would be it, but he did not have any batteries since. The need from a wing in/out privileges. You would not forget, it would be right over. After two hours I was once again the front-it rained for four hours easy and we were in our room almost melted away from heat. This time I was a bit nervous. The declaration, why no one was, were: it would then drizzle, there would be nobody out. (But I am already, or what does it mean?) as I said, that at the moment I am sick and his boss speak (-I've ever made), he drew a drawer on suddenly, in which about 40 batteries were in and gave me second Mist and tell a lie at the front desk associated with a four-star hotel, this is really the height! read hotel review

Very mixed nationalitys south americans prominant and canadiansenglish germans and spanish.The hotel does not presume to be the hilton and therefore you dont pay hilton rates so dont expect hilton standards.The rooms are large and most have two queen size beds.The staff work unending at keeping this hotel clean and do an excelent job.Fom the uk the hotel is all inclusive. read hotel review

    The room size is larger than most spanish hotel rooms thy are well equipt with fridge,tv with satilite ,table and chairs inside and on balcony or terrace,safe with electronic code which you set your self.As befor the are kept clean to a very high standard the furniture and fittings are finished to look very rustic.

    There are 3 resturants on site .The beach resturant and bar which opens at launch time and the at night becomes an italian style resturant.The al a carte resturant is the perfect place for a special meal [birthday aniversary etc]. Both these resturants have to be booked in advance there is no charge for this.The main resturant caters for every ones taste they have a very varied hot food servery ,salad bar,pasta counter ,grill to order bar and pitza bar .The only reason for marking good was not every thing is to your taste but in saying that the varity more than makes up for that.

    Staff at this hotel are kind efficiant and very friendly where posible they try to talk to every one in theyer own language though predominant langauge is spanish.The rooms are cleaned to an excelent standard there is a laundry service child care center and doctor avaliable but cant coment on these as have never used them as regards complaints have never had any.

    Can not speak for sporting activities but the pool is kept clean and well maintained and is quite safe as at its deapest is only about 4 feet.Entertainment is all home grown but is still very good.Cant speak for kids club no kids.The disco is on a small island in the mangrove adjoining the hotelhave used it and found it fine.There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool and at the beach there is also plenty of shelter.There is internet access but have never used it.

    Shopping is restricted to the four hotels on the island or by visiting the hotels on cayo coco.Cuba is a country where most souvineers are home grown with a lot of inginuity and skill .The hotel is right on the beach so even people with restricted walking abilitys should not find to many dificulties.The first major city is Moron and is about 2hours away on the mainland.The main airport for the islands is on Cayo Coco about 20 mins away.There are many excursions avaliable and all are reasonably priced.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. the rooms were basic but comfortable and the surroundings were beautiful but most of all you have the beach on your doorstep and it was AMAZING. All in all we had an excellent holiday and cant wait to go back. read hotel review

The hotel was a good size. Not too big and not too small. The services at reception when I arrived after my long journey were great. The plane had been delayed so we arrived several hours late. The staff on the desk bent over backwards to get us to our rooms so we could all get refreshed and get in that holiday mood. The hotel was going to be closed from may to refirb and some blocks had already been shut off to begin work. The hotel defintely needed refirb as it's a long time since it had any work ... done. The hotel was clean and the rooms are a great size. The services included towels that could be collected from the pool. This saves on heavy towels taking up room in luggege and it's a great service. The food was good despite what it says on some of the reviews on here. Yes it's basic but it's Cuba not mcdonnalds or burger king. It's fresh food and the chefs around the edge of the main restaurant are well with a go. The fresh calamari was supurb. When I read reviews it said singles shouldn't bother going to this hotel but I thought that it's perfect. The staff are great and the fantastic Cubanito bar near the beach and it's round shape is perfect for mixing with other guests. I arrived on my own and left with many friends who are all meeting up again in march next year. read hotel review

    the room was of a good size but the toilet didn't always flush. The rooms were really clean though. The location of some rooms further away from the center are darker as they lack the lighting around the main resort. These rooms are nice and quiet though.

The staff on the desk bent over backwards to get us to our rooms so we could all get refreshed and get in that holiday mood. The hotel was going to be closed from may to refirb and some blocks had already been shut off to begin work. The hotel defintely needed refirb as it's a long time since it had any work done. The hotel was clean and the rooms are a great size. The services included towels that could be collected from the pool. This saves on heavy towels taking up room in luggege and it's a great service. The food was good despite what it says on some of the reviews on here. Yes it's basic but it's Cuba not mcdonnalds or burger king. It's fresh food and the chefs around the edge of the main restaurant are well with a go. The fresh calamari was supurb. When I read reviews it said singles shouldn't bother going to this hotel but I thought that it's perfect. The staff are great and the fantastic Cubanito bar near the beach and it's round shape is perfect for mixing with other guests. I arrived on my own and left with many friends who are all meeting up again in march next year.

    This is really for people who enjoy the beach and the sea. There isn't anything else around except other hotels that share the strip. There is good entertainment at the hotel and bowling at the hotel next door. Taxis are cheap.
