Hotel ILLA d'or the like a relic from the past time. The decor dignified, lots of pictures and furniture on the hallways and in the lobby exude comfort. In accordance with this hotel also the guests: mainly British 60 + the generation, the gentlemen jacket and tie to appear with dinner, you can discover the ladies in the almost forgotten side stole. Also some Germans seem to appreciate the quiet and nostalgic atmosphere of the hotel. The evening entertainment is on this clientele aligned: classic, a jazz duo, light dance music. The food is-in our opinion-and with care together, in ... addition, very good taste. Terrace and sunbathing areas directly at the sea offers a wonderful view on the bay, very attentive Außenbewirtung. In November were the most shops, cafes etc. ring to the hotel already fall in winter, also the apartments and holiday homes were mostly empty, what but with a walk along the waterfront constituted a special charm. The hotel has a very special charm. The time seems somewhat quiet to-in a positive sense. The guests consisted mainly of older, high-level British regulars, many of which are familiar with each other, as they already had been there for years on holiday. According to family is the atmosphere. You actually comes to the whole time as in a old Agatha Christie film before-only without murder and large showdown in the library. The staff is very friendly and attentive, speaks very good english and partly also German. After only a few days were the room key, without that you had ... to call the room number, and the waiter knew exactly, if preferred what drinks. The breakfast buffet was OK, wants to be called: not great, but good. Also here is clear, that the target is in first line British. The dinner was great every time and consisted of three courses, the were served at the table. You could choose between several alternative. All meals were excellent and just only tasty! The room are clean and tidy. Positive emphasis is the free safe on each room. However, the windows in some bathrooms rather on summer Temparturen and very close not correctly, so bitterly cold february you in. A heating was unfortunately not it in the bathroom. Unfortunately it was only three German speaking tv program (an Austrian), I would have wished myself something more. The gym is small, was but for my needs perfectly adequate. The indoor pool was relatively small and very strongly with chlorinated. 'Splash' pool and jacuzzi were adequate. Furthermore, it has two saunas, a for men and women respectively. The town center you must walk a few minutes, what good is, if you were good on foot is. Handicapped and/or elderly guests will do something so difficult. Basically it is quite in a fix without a car, it's worth it so, at least for a few days to rent a car. Conclusion: if you are looking for the special condition and it has, is here correct. I would recommend a car but for occasional day trips. read more
