We were too third (with our 17-year-old son) and booked a room with park view-excellent!
The hotel has no special extras and no animation, only a small gym. But everything, what a successful city break in New York is important - especially a amazing location, south of the Central Park. Many important sights and stadtprägende objectives are within walking distance. A subway station is directly next to the hotel. Nevertheless it is quiet. The rooms are spacious and all have a view of the park or city view. We booked without catering, therefore no comment. read more

The view of the Central Park was terrific, unfortunately was the carpet in the room very dirty and the bathroom very small. The beds were good. The breakfast was a joke. There was just sweet, bread and butter! That was everything! Everything else you could extra it must order, which of course extra costs. This means sweet, like cakes, bread and butter cost as breakfast 30$! But you can in the area with a better value for money breakfast. read more

Ideal for New York-Travelers. Central park opposite, metro around the corner. All important easy to reach on foot. Good service (for us a pack of packaged and with ups shipped ). Internet and mini bar very expensive, but small ice-cold fridge in the bathroom. Built-in cupboard with a safe, large dresser. Bathrobe and slippers. Rooms are large, bright and clean. read more

An overpriced hotel with basic flaws :
Luggage service: help yourself
Call: strangled and with a table- or Reservierungsanrufbeantworter connected, incredible
Rooms: no internet( no help on helpline), no glasses, no free water
Streets-and construction noise disturbs sleep, bad isolation the window
Lobby: no internet spots
Bottle of water 10 $plus tax and tip
Never again Helmsley! read more

the hotel is getting a bit old as the staff.
but the location and the views make up for the age of the hotel again.
everything is easily accessible easy to reach on foot (the Empire, entenfeller the rock, Grand central, 5 Eve. And so on ). Options for shopping and restaurant nearby.
breakfast not recommendable. (only sweet Paste, no cold cuts and fruit, vegetables). read more

Initially it looks like a great hotel. But on closer inspection you quickly noticed, that it is not a lot of importance on cleanliness and friendliness was. But this should be a five-star hotel actually be provided. In our bathroom were already at arrival to find some hair from the previous guest, which improved in the next few days. After a girl at the front desk was friendly to the point, this was very unfriendly and it changed nothing at all. In the room itself was clearly visible, probably rather rare that a vacuum is used. Generally very unfriendly staff ..., except for one or two.
Conclusion: great location, but it makes up for the lack in no way! read more

The hotel is in a perfect location for a city break to Ny! The central park, fifth avenue the, Rockefeller center are just around the corner. Furthermore, Times square, crysler building, Empire Statebuilding etc. we have achieved within walking distance. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, but nearby there are good coffee shops and Starbucks or breakfast in the restaurant from Rockefeller center. The only negative thing about the room was the heating, the total noisy clattered. We have therefore in a night always turned off and it was therefore corresponding fresh in the morning ☺ NY is the ... greatest city on earth, I would highly recommend! Viieell Spaassss! PS: view from Rockefeller center is much eindrücklicher, than from the Empire Statebuilding. read more

The hotel is located directly on the Central Park, near the Plaza hotel. All main tourist attractions are easily accessible on foot. A metro station is next to the hotel, so that you could use it at any time for longer distances. The room booked was very large. There were 3 of us and had enough space. Towels were changed every day. Room service was offered, but we didn't use it. Nationalities were mixed and guests in different age groups were there. read more

We have a city trip in this hotel. Arrival check in top. Had problem at the airport and our lost night was thoroughly without surcharge refunded. The room was very nice at first glance. The bathroom was a bit small and not very clean. We had good view (Central park). It was a good night's sleep in the US is not often the case. It was relatively quiet at night even though it is on a busy street. We have no hesitation in recommending this guesthouse. The shopping area, as well as the transport to the sights * perfect * ... The cozy invites you to walk the Central Park where you may get lucky has squirrels to see. We had ordered a NYC pass of the internet (pick-up at the Planet Hollywood) just great, we saved so much money. A hop-on-off tour was also there as well as a night tour of Brooklyn. We did a lot of exploring on foot is just nice you will see far more, but the feet they appreciate it a in the evening-). The breakfast in the hotel is highly recommended the view was really great, but it is also a bit more expensive, but we always worth this is it. Behind the hotel is the Garden Café also very nice and really competitive prices (Alternative to the breakfast in the hotel). The staff at the hotel are very friendly and very helpful which made our stay very pleasant. We would love to return sometime. read more

The hotel seemed quite plain on the exterior. But if you walk into the lobby looks the whole different. All in marble and decorated with huge chandeliers. The check-in and check-out was easy and the staff was also very nice and helpful. Certainly you could see the age (in some places about 40 Years of age) on. But for New York standards makes it better hotels. read more

Hotel. Very good location, directly on the Central Park South, 5th Avenue and Broadway are not that far. Room 3006. furniture worn-Chrakter - for example the Goldfarbe the Sessellehnen has you when touched clothing and the hands, abgesessene upholstery, on the cupboards partly already missing paint, drawers made the impression as if you move in fall apart and are heavy - everything is probably as old as the antique style, the safe seemed/is rather uncertain, which means, was simply not built in closet, fridge in the bathroom! Bathroom rickety and rather battered hardback copy taps - without thermostat, so you ... need to turn back and forth inconvenient to the correct temperature, not positionierbarer free baumelnder shower head, dingy depicting bathtub with shower curtain - everything savory ancient! a plug would only cumbersome set up so that the shower water did not drain properly ! Showers were so rather unpleasant! The tile grouting and silicon joints provide for gross looking (brown deposits) in the corners. Overall this room is absolutely in need of renovation and (looked) wasn't very well kept and the price for that definitely unfairly high. read more

A place to relax and recreation: Despite the large number of rooms (nearly 600) had the feeling at no time, just "room number". The front desk and check-in was quick but warm, sweet surprises in the room (and the each cleaning) are standard. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The amenities in lobby and rooms is old fashioned, but it is great stylish, comfortable, seemed very European and not American. Top! read more
