Had a great stay for my honeymoon, I was upgraded to a jacuzzi room 1725 with a nice view. The cleanliness of the room was remarkable with a beautiful decoration made by the housekeeping staff. I must say that the service in general was on top and we would recommend this resort to everyone. A special thanks to Sachin from housekeeping department, jean pierre, the concierge team very helpful and Kevin R. who made it memorable. read hotel review

The best start for your perfect days is to stay in InterContinental Hotel ! Close your eyes.and dream of to wake up by the sound of the waves just outside your hotel room. The red, 'cardinal" birds will welcome you with their song while you step out on the balcony, with a lovely view over the Ocean and the exotic garden. Time for breakfast! As I chosed the big, buffet breakfast with everything you need (and even more!) yesterday, I'll take the breakfast today in the calm and more intim one, close to the sea. The activites are waiting. ...! snorkeling? cayaking? swimming in the sea, or in the pool? or maybe some gym with aircondition ? It's hard to chose in Intercontinental Hotel.! an Excursion to explore the beautiful island of Mauritius, just in time for some relaxing time near the pool, before the aperitif and dinner in one of the five restaurants. I loved the Indian one! And also the chic Noble House! The charming and helpful staff made their very best so we could have our Perfect Days in Mauritius.a big thanks! to everybody, you made the difference! I stayed here for my honeymoon and found it perfect.To start with the check in quite quick and being a IHG club member I was given priority. As I entered the hotel and informed them abt my membership they escorted us to ihg club lounge and served us complimentary snacks drinks juices. by that time they complete check in formalities.Our room was well set and had a garden/ocean view. I opened towards garden. Toilets were clean. We were given complimentary fruit basket and a bottle of wine. The room was quite, well lit. Room service staff were helpful. ... We had included breakfast and dinner in our package. The food spread for vegetarians in buffet was quite OK but the taste was little average. This was quite expected. The hotel has three restaurant also which u can opt for with prior booking.The hotel has various complimentary activity for its guests like snorkeling glass bottom boat ride, golf tennis and many more. The best part of the hotel was its private beach. It was simply awesome. Its perfect for a romantic walk in evening with ur partner. It was never crowded. U can get ur privacy. And enjoy the beach / ocean view with ur partner. This I found to be the best part of this property. Hotel use to organize theme based party every evening. Once it was Arabian night. Other day it was belly dancing. Indian night. Hotel had two swimming pools. Pools were clean and tidy. I had stayed one day in a jarcuzzi room. But found it little too pricy. We had asked for late check but the hotel staff politely expressed their inability to prove the same as they had booking which was quite OK.Overall I was highly satisfied with hotel property and service. A good choice for anyone planning honeymoon in Mauritius. Room Tip: select room on ground floor near reception area. It will open towards garden and will have proximity to buffet area, pool, beach and restaurants. read hotel review

This was my 15th stay at Mauritius and my 2nd at Intercontinental Mauritius. Again, my holidays at Intercontinental have been to my full expectations and I hope to return in 2016. The resort ist impressive because of a beautiful location, a tasteful and unique ambiance, an international atmosphere and a large and quiet beach with well spaced (for me very important) beach umbrellas. The rooms are tastefully designed, the furnishing is well thought through. For me it´s just perfect. The Boothouse is one of the most important institution for me and I am happy that (again) my wishes for a ... daily memorable snorkeling experience were fulfilled. 4 restaurants bring culinary variety and offer good food. Service is warm and friendly. I enjoyed the rich breakfast buffet in the main restaurant, my favorite restaurant for dining (fish and seafood) is Segala. However, the principal reason why I feel most comfortable at Intercontinental is the friendliness and the heartfelt hospitality of so many motivated stuff members. The individual service in all areas which is tailored to suit my wishes and needs make me feel very welcome and happy. This is the Mauritian hospitality to be found under good working conditions which is, of course, a result of good management. Recently stayed at the hotel for a 2 week break with my wife. The hotel was great for both of us, lots of dining options, both in the hotel and also close by. You have to take a taxi to get to Grand Baie in the North, but it is close. The staff were really amazing with us, they made you feel so comfortable. The beach was really nice and quite big. The hotel was split into 3 sections from what I can see. Waters ports were free for us everyday. Will defiantly go back if we go to Mauritius ... again. read hotel review

We stayed with 2 kids. The hotel staff is very friendly, professional. Various food in the main restaurant for breakfast and dinner buffet (international, Indian,Chinese). Delicious and very stylish food in Segala restaurant. Very good sea entertainment center "Boat house" with possibilities for water sport activities, good diving equipment, snorkeling offers. The only disadvantage (or a big advantage) is that the hotel is located quite far away from shopping areas and local settlements. Taxi fares are not cheap, would be more convenient to have a shuttle bus to the nearest village Grande Baie or to the city of Port ... Louis. The family is very happy with the vacation in such a nice place and such a nice service. read hotel review

Spend a week of dream, the jacuzzi terrace room was amazing. Very nice cocktails at the pool bar during the day though it has been raining some days, the cleanlinesss of the room remarkable good job. Some veryvfriendly staff who went far to extend their hospitality, davin chinese guide, premita, aman, ravi and the chief concierge kevin. Thank you for your effort. read hotel review

Very nice and relaxing location and friendly staff. The rooms are very spacious and overlooking the sea, the food and service in the senso restaurant not too recomenndable though but the rest are very good. If you need any information on the island kevin the concierge is the man !! Milan thr barman in the lobby makes the best cocktail ever. In general i would recommend this hotel. read hotel review

The hotel and rooms are fantastic and the service was worthy of praise. A special mention to the DIrector of Guest Services - Shaun as well as the manager Kunal as their service and responsiveness to handle any situation was noteworthy. In addition Harsh the indian chef for break fast, Kooshal and Arun at reception and concierge were also very friendly and helpful. It was wonderfully relaxing and unwinding experience which i will look forward for coming back to soon. read hotel review

Thank you for a very pleasant stay. It was a very refreshing experience. Unfortunately we had one or two difficulties. I believe the hotel could have been more helpful to us. The taps in the batroom were broken and even though One light in the bathroom did not work. This caused us much difficulty. An attempt madeto solve the problem but without success. This kind of attention to problems does not speak well about the intercontinental hotel. The food was excellent and all the members staff are outstanding people. We wish to come back again as it was perfect. The third visit to Mauritius but Intercontinental is the best. Segala restaurant best one. Especial thanks to Segala Team Savina, Luc,christopher, Adiilah and Herve of Senso. All staff were very good reception, towel cabana , bar overall very good. The staff was very friendly and cooperative and helpful. We were upgraded to a larger room because we are club members for a long time. There is a varity of restaurants available on the hotel area. We had an excellent dinner at the indian restaurant. read hotel review

The hotel is modern and very beautiful. The staff and the service they deliver is exceptional. Everyone is extreamly friendly and no request is to much. The food is amazing with a great deal of both choice and variation from day to day. The hotel has extreamly high standards and the cleanliness and attention to detail with the daily servicing of the room is beyond 5 star. I will definitely come back here and will ask all my friends and family to come and stay here. The staff very friendly and helpful the food is excellent variety of restaurants is excellent entertainment excellent. The spa treatment was outstanding, at reception i got fantastic service from Adiilah the Resort Assistant Manager, Karin spa therapist was very good, Raja Reservation manager very accommodating,Herve Restaurant Manager ,kitty hostess in Senso very hospitable. read hotel review

Shaky Start but... It got Better & Better

I had been in communication with the hotel (regarding limousine transfer, All Inclusive package & a room with an unobstructed Sea View) during the months prior to arrival for our fortnight's holiday. to ensure that everything would be perfect ready for when we arrived, as this was booked to celebrate my wife's 40th Birthday. (We stayed 4th Jan - 18th Jan 2015) Unfortunately, on arrival at the airport we had been forgotten about by the hotel & no limousine was waiting for us. Eventually (after contacting the hotel) our limousine arrived to collect us to transfer to the hotel - ... we had been left waiting for 1 hour at the arrivals hall. As a Platinum Ambassador of the IHG Rewards Programme, I was extremely disappointed with the hotel management that they could treat a loyal customer in this manner. On arrival at the hotel, we were greeted warmly by the Guest Relations staff who proceeded to check us in. When they advised that I was staying on a Room only basis, alarm bells started to ring & I had to advise them that I had been in communication with the hotel to pre-arrange the All Inclusive package. by this point, I was really not happy !!! They advised that this would be resolved and then allocated us Room 1221 (Jacuzzi Suite). We were escorted to the room and all facilities shown to us (safe, Jacuzzi etc.). The Guest Relations member of staff then left us. I then went onto the balcony to observe the view !!! There was only a view of palm leaves, we could barely see anything of the beach / ocean. Fuming, I returned immediately to reception and requested to speak to management staff in order to resolve the issues. One of the management staff came to see me almost immediately and set about rectifying the issues I had brought to his attention. We were offered a next day room change, a further upgrade to the Presidential Suite for the last few days of our holiday (as they were fully booked until then) and a Private Island Dinner. This, I agreed would be fair recompense for the problems encountered in the first few hours of our holiday. The following day, my wife & I approached the Guest Relations staff to find out what time we would be moving rooms and we were then approached by the Chief Concierge (Kevin Ritoo). Kevin took an avid interest in the issues we had had with the previous day and almost immediately our holiday experience changed. it got Better & Better !!!! Kevin personally saw to it that we were given the best "available" room with sea view (Room 1625) and arranged for V.I.P. treatment at all of the speciality restaurants for the next few days. I have to say, Kevin & his team (O'Bryan, Arun & all of the Bell Boys) were fantastic & always went out of their way to ensure everything was in place to make our holiday special. Thank You all !!!! At the Manager's "Welcome" Cocktail Party we were introduced to Shirley Emery (Guest Relations Manager) and after a couple of minutes Shirley realised who we were & expressed her apologies for the treatment we were subjected to on Day 1. From that moment on, Shirley always made sure that whenever she saw us, she always made a point of ensuring we were being looked after. (She also ensured that we were moved a day earlier than expected, to the Presidential Suite with the best view of all the rooms in the hotel - The "Pheonix" Suite - Room 1823). If you encounter any issues when visiting this hotel, ensure that you raise your concerns with either Shirley or Kevin. They will help & in fact, thrive on the opportunity to assist guests. It is pointless bottling up your problems when they are on-hand to resolve them. These guys are a credit to the IHG Brand. Despite Cyclone Bansi affecting the weather. we found that we were enjoying our Mauritian experience immensely, despite the shaky start. as almost all of the staff (from Room Attendants, Waiters, Bar Staff through to Management) were friendly & wanted to make the guest holiday experience a special one. I stay in many IHG Branded Hotels every year. the staff in this hotel are some of the friendliest I have met. Special mentions must go to the following staff, as they went over & above to ensure our holiday went smoothly: Kevin Ritoo (Chief Concierge), Shirley Emery (Guest Relations Manager), O'Bryan (Concierge), Arun (Concierge), Savina (Waitress in Palm Bar), Siham (Waiter in the Palm Bar / Beach), Jay (Room Attendant - Room 1823), Rajiv (Manager - Segala), Christophe (Waiter - Segala) & Patrick (Waiter - Veda). All in all, after the initial disappointment. everyone went out of their way to ensure the holiday experience was extra special (most other guests we spoke to also felt that the staff did their utmost to ensure the holiday experience for all guests was special). The hotel rooms are of an excellent standard for a resort hotel. (even the standard rooms are excellent), however. The Presidential Suites are just "Wow". Superb in every way !!!!!, The restaurants (speciality & the Senso buffet restaurant) all serve the most fantastic food & catered for every need, The Bar's - although the service could be slow, were all in fine settings & well tended. The grounds, Beach & Island. stunning !!!! Would we go back, given that we had initial problems??? Oh yes, without hesitation. Say no more !!!!!! read hotel review
