The Intercontinental is a great place where to relax and have fun at once. There is a great atmosphere there. The beach is a peaceful place with a great terrasse on the ocean from where you can observe the best sunsets ever!! A great thank to jean Pierre and his animation team (Oliver, LLyod, Ravi, Preethee) who made our stay even more pleasant. Animation is decent never too pushy and there is always an activity to take part to, if you want. The food and the service in the restaurants (you can chose between different kind of food/environment within the ... hotel) is excellent The hotel is well situated and not far away from Grand Bay, a nice village with good restaurants, bars and shopping possibilities. Also Port Luis and other "touristic" places are easy to be reached from there. We got a big, very clean room, which was cleaned every day with lots of love for details by Jay, who I kindly thank for his "animal figures" on the bed-) A very special thank to Mr Kevin Ritoo, who made possible the upgade to this wonderful room!! He also helped us with the booking of the the catamaran and gave us all the time valuable advices. His nice manners and professionality made the stay even more valuable-)-) The fitness center and the Spa are professionally organized and very well managed. I can really advice you to book this hotel if you want to experience a memorable holiday!! read hotel review

Just came back from honeymoon week at InterContinental Mauritius. Have been scared to read bad reviews from last year, but have to say that I guess management changed as that was my dream stay. read hotel review

I was with my wife since, originally we had wanted to 10 days, but after 2 days: The quality of the food was very bad, the kitchen is apparently dreadful. Cats under the table with the meal and birds knappern on bread at the buffet, the staff did nothing. The beach is very roughly and without shoes not recommendable, also the hotel is very isolated and you always have to take a taxi, if you want to real sand experience. Therefore not for bathing suitably. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are also very nice, it help unfortunately not ..., if the rest not so great is. read hotel review

Conclusion! Disappointing! Dream vacation looks for me completely different -unfortunately the beach not be the one under a 'dream beach!' In any white my expectations. This is discouraged if you a great beach vacation - without additional taxi-which are expensive to purchase would like to take. The employees are partly motivated-show but also often lack of interest. The hotel shows in some corners already some larger and smaller lack of beauty on (bathroom with mold) or lack of fittings. Unfortunately no 5 star hotel. read hotel review

Positive: - design the hotel - design and equipment in the rooms - beauty products - friendliness of the staff - flora and fauna - dinner in the restaurant 'noble house' - cocktails in the lobby - spa treatments - seating area at the beach (free chairs at any time of the day/ gap good) lay perhaps also at the daily and long noise through the gardening?! Negative: - who before the trip questions by mail to this hotel sends gets no response - room richen extremely musty and thus the entire interior (pillows, sheets, towels, sofa and so on. ... And after a couple of days also the own clothes) explanatory memorandum management: 'this is due to the humid climate' we at other tropenaufenthalte but not seen! - cleaning the room moderate to not at all (1 times barefoot into the bathroom = black soles) - rooms were at 17 o'clock not presented - it is possible the whole day the kramigen service before the rooms rum - room service pays more attention to the guest personal order in favour of the standards to confuse, rather than time the room to clean (was swept never) - coffee and tea is not replenished, only after asking - 1 teacup, 1 coffee cup and 1 teaspoon (per room for 2 people) - something was missing always, for example washcloths, towels or mat - only 4 hangers - no german tv channels (for those, that is important) - flooded toilet through leaky shower - for the time being no reaction to please to help, only on the penultimate day vainer abdichtungsversuch - you have really tried hard the guest real noise to bother for example by rattling service, back the heavy chairs in the rooms (there could be felt remedy), technical and renovations to the fountain ( wasserein and desist in the daily change on pump ) especially the gardening (we stayed in 2 weeks 8 motorized equipment met) understandable, the the complex maintained must, but not so, only one example, the whole lawn has been days and hours with the lawn edge tilled, instead of the time in the 1-2 hours with a lawn mower to do and if the guests for breakfast or the dinner set - the pool is a joke with maximum depth of 1.50 metres, so shallow and warm, nothing for swimming and not cooling - the musical noise by the pool is not everyone's thing - culinary in the buffet restaurant, just the indian guests the - despite daily theme change change only the büfettbezeichnungen, the food itself is for the european taste indian, monotonous and boring - the presentation of the dishes is dearless and on mass laid out, no decoration, everything sticky, stains and verpampt - the large buffet is stuffy and noisy, the soil comes dirty and has rather the charm of a snack bar-cafeteria - we then also the eating habits, mostly of the indian guests, and the dress sense many guests the dinner (flip flops and tracksuit trousers) completely abgetörnt and we are for the rest of the time the 'cafeteria style' in's noble house escaped and were very satisfied there - the breakfast with 2 types of sausage, only white bread and a very economical fruit, more than poor (more for that warm beans and currypamps ) - there was no jam glasses, no for coffee spoons, no cereal bowls and no eggcups and often no bread knife (only on request with wait) - management is complaint or wunschresistent - hotel taxis ridiculously expensive (50 €for 12 kilometer na Port Louis) Other: - water is clean, but by close surf very busy - for swimming not convenient, as rocky - lagoon a bit stale (baggersee-feeling) - snorkelling partially (if not too strong waves and high tide) possible - ocean creatures available, but in the not comparable with the diversity in Maldives - glass very pleasant to the hotel complex times seen from the water, otherwise underwater 'dead' - shopping possibilities (clothes and souvenirs) within the 3 hotel stores, otherwise nothing within walking distance - free wi-fi in the lobby and restaurants - tip the fridge cools only, if you the closet door before it leaves open. Logical-without air no cooling! Understands here but none and the door will be again and again closed. Our summary: If you are looking for a nice beach and snorkelling holiday in sophisticated, attractive luxurious surroundings to make would like, can the long flight here save. There are nicer beaches and more diverse underwater worlds in the Maldives and even in the mediterranean sea and the Canary Islands. Nice hotel area with absolutely said management in many ways. Culinarily spoiled or guests or the well maintained dining should their expectations far down screw (at least in the main restaurant and for breakfast). As first a room receive, the strong mold smell, this was in the bathroom To see (black mold). Room was below. After a long fight with the manager got We a room in the first floor. The hotel is, although fairly new just barely maintained. Broken will only temporarily replaced. The hotel itself is very nice located and would be a good potential for an experienced hotelier. But here in the indian owners of the desire to be the complex with so little effort as possible to capitalize and then off to the next resort. The most unpleasant thing is the totally inadequate service. The mostly indian staff except for few exceptions totally untrained and a bit lustered. It makes the impression, as if cheap auxiliary set, by your colleagues schnelleinweisung and then to the guests ... they should better be locked up. Purchase orders at the beach but also in the pool area take standard 30-60 minutes. As mentioned, i am not talking of exceptions, which always happen, but to the rule. Vorausgesetz it is anyone. In the various actually very nice restaurants in a great location - the same misery. Ungeschultes staff, completely overstrained, although only every 3. table occupied 'sorry, it's so busy'. Having been in the InterContinental Resort Mauritius for one week I have to commend the resort for outstanding aspects concerning my stay there: an attentive reception, a wonderful room (where admittedly it probably helps to be a long time member of the group's free customer relations program called Priority Club) and a perfect resort with, believe it or not, 4 different theme restaurants in which the half board packages are mostly credited in a very generous way unknown to me from other places. The main breakfast and buffet diner hall could be a touch brighter and/or with more attractive interior ... design but, again, very good buffet food and a dedicated staff make you still feel comfortable. Special highlights in the resort's evening entertainment are the huge open air party buffet diners in an attractive on-the-beach atmosphere - heaps of work before and after the event for the staff. The internet (WIFI with a router in my room) worked well - different from many other expensive hotels worldwide where the rates are sometimes ridiculous and sadly the WIFI reception is, too. Management is always present, attentive, charming and thus also provides a good host and hospitality model to their staff. So alltogether a very nice place run with much professionalism and dedication from everybody involved, where you feel appreciated and all that in a wonderful resort ambience. read hotel review

Never ever 5 stars I don't know as you a really bad hotel so ok, there are perhaps 2 hotels with the same name? Travel agency at home said that the good reviews from the hotel be made. We had the first time christmas in the 'south' spent. It was simply dreamlike. As we already arrived, the lobby, the view of the see etc. The service the intercontinental was terrific and simply not to exceed. The buffet for breakfast in the main restaurant left nothing to be desired. Senso restaurant we have really enjoyed, as you here completely relaxed and in all peace breakfast. Especially but the varied evening buffet enthusiastic. The food was heavenly. Especially the fish and the seafood, the indian and asian offer, the desserts. Just about everything was perfect. The very friendly staff was ... sensational. She were all very friendly, accommodating and very helpful, which one in Germany often very much missed. Especially arnaud, Kevin and Kathrin (catherin ) at the front desk and Sam and arvin at the cocosbar at the beach have cared for us cared. Also the other staff were always very accommodating and friendly (gardener, housekeepers etc.) The rooms were very lovingly with flowers. Every day we found other artwork on our beds. We felt like we were 'king'  Although the complex was fully booked, we found always vacant chairs at the beach or by the pool. It was everything is so spread out, that one not at all the feeling had, that the hotel was fully booked. The location of the hotel is for all recommendable, the a relaxing and quiet beach vacation prefer. All rooms had view of the sea and the hotel was directly at the beach. Especially for our kids it was a dream. You have felt very comfortable and wanted not any more home. Although the hotel a bit off the beaten path from the center is (the you know yes, before you a hotel bay) can you enough excursions undertake. Besides there are at the beach enough leisure offers, like for instance diving, water skiing etc. The vacation was so perfect.     Why there are complaints about the location? If you before booking when Google Maps over the location of the hotel informed, you know, that the next town not in walking distance is. For a relaxing beach holiday is the location great. Also enough excursions offered. Shopping on Maritius it was not on our list of priorities.

    The location of the hotel is directly at the beach, however, it is very out of the way, so a rental car is advisable. We had for the full 2 weeks a car directly from the airport. You could good excursions (botanical garden, east coast, south coast, Port Louis, 7 colored earth, waterfalls etc.) It is everything worth seeing and with your own car you can decide yourself when and where wanted to go. The distance to the airport took 1 hour drive.

    We had a deluxe room, the very nice and was spacious. The view was however not right on the beach, but may be because, that we on the ground floor were with much plants before of the terrace. Small fault have all rooms, this had but surprisingly few building defect (joints, gaps). The bathroom was massive with a roll-top bath. The shower had a huge shower head. The joints that saw but no more so nice. What astounded us was, that sometimes from the expiry foam heraufkam and not very little, probably from the guests about us. We were once around 4 waked, when someone showered, which very loud resounded.

If you are late, you had to on some days a little wait longer for the coffee. The evening buffet had every day another issue.     The entertainment was rather large, there was the whole day somewhat, from jogging at the sea over Boccia, Tennis and diving lesson...     The hotel unfortunately there is very far away of all. Apparently there is a shuttle bus to the next bus station, which we however never used. For our two trips picked us a taxi from. Times simply so shopping is so unfortunately not. The beach was on foot, but there are extensive walks not possible. At the end of the hotel start rocky beaches without ways. There are trip possibilities on the island many. We booked our two with the tour operator: guided tour to Port Louis, botanical garden and zuckermuseum, as well as the park casela. Both very recommendable!

Hi, we had a deluxe rooms with half board. At first I was skeptical, as I the reviews little fear made, but afterwards I must say, totally unfounded! The rooms were very tastefully decorated and clean! The food was very good, too good-) always fresh and various themes buffet and there were still many other restaurants to choose from. The staff are very friendly and extremely accommodating! Which I with drawbacks said: room - everything was great, just it was a light bulb burned out or a lamp depends on a bit crooked, nothing to upset, I think and ... not at all for the price! Staff: -very friendly however sometimes a bit disorganized, but what they again wet with their friendliness:-) read hotel review

    The rooms are very tastefully decorated and large. They are clean. The room to and for itself is in a good state, only in the detail it unfortunately somewhat... The floor in the bathroom a bit shabby or a lamp is wrong or a light bulb not working... But these are all things, where one disturb or not. I found it for the price super and was very positively surprised. Five star it is perhaps not, but 4 + in any case! There is a German channels, ZDF otherwise English or french, a huge screen in the living room and a in the bathroom. Coffee/ tea you can also in the room make, it is every day water provided free of charge.

    There are 4 different restaurants, all of which you can use, no matter wether only breakfast or half board or or or... The food is very tasty and fresh, the choice is crazy and the variety also. If you don't all inclusive has, one should watch out, since a lot imported, is for example wine quite expensive, beer, rum and cocktails again cheap :-) tip wasn't expected, but gladly seen, if you are, you will on the next day still treated better ;-)

    Now it depends on, what you are looking for. I prefer it quiet and unobtrusive, it was and I thought it was great! But there are various sports possibilities or extra charge, also water ski and the whole everything is there to :-) there are 2 pools, both are cleanly and very beautifully designed! There is enough chairs, sun screens and towels for everyone in the pool and sea! In the stunning lobby you have internet free and there are also several shops...

    The location is great, directly at the beach. There are 3 beach sections and you never get the feeling from mass tourism, very nice! Bathing shoe are definitely recommendable, it is a wonderful sandy beach and the water clear, but there is rock/ stonefish, therefore I would in any case bathing shoe carry forward. The hotel offers even ausflugspackete to, and at the beach there are three beach vendors (always the same) however not pushy at all, quite on the contrary! You could get along with German nowhere further, English or french a must! But if today to days not a topic, the mature generation comes with the usual flosskeln well over the rounds :-) over the whole day distributed, at 7 days the week, from morning to night a entertainment program, from table tennis, volleyball to themanbüfetts, live singing etc. Everything... At variety it does not lack. The transfer to/from to the airport takes about 1 hour.

We have 10 days - unfortunately - spent in this hotel and all only advise against! Two roaches, and spiders on a dirty room is good for a hotel the price an absolute insolence! The breakfast you could not in peace to take, without that you not to a flock of birds, has been under attack! Only the friendly staff spoke only a little bit of calm...
