Informal hotel that is value for money archived

At first we couldn't find the hotel because the entrance is in a back street leading off the main road. When we arrived, there was no reception but our key was left on a table with our name and number of our room, so we let ourselves in. We enjoyed the informality of it and the hotel is clean and uncomplicated and is situated overlooking a small square with a 'water feature', a sculpture, flowers and bushes. It is about 5 minutes' walk from Lake Geneva, which is picturesque and you can get on a ferry to visit other parts ... of the lake. There are a couple of bars/restaurants locally and a good range of shops - Coop, chemist, etc. Some negative points are that there were no tea-making facilities in the room; the front bedrooms are noisy because of the traffic; the back bedroom we stayed in was quieter but smelt a bit of tobacco smoke; there are only two channels on the tv. However, we chose the hotel because it was one of the cheapest in the area and it was a good centre from which to visit Geneva and other towns on the lake. There is also a train station. We think that it was very good value for money and would stay there again. read more
