Hotel and room rather simple, in sardinian style. , however everything necessary available. Daily cleaning the room, with change of towels. We booked half board. Was pleasant the feast tischzuordnung, thus forth the seats. The restaurant is clean with material table covers and material napkins. From the restaurant you have a wonderful view direction sea. In the hotel were very lots of German guests from 40 upwards, rather couple as families, for children less suitable. Good on foot you should be ( hotel lies on the mountain and in the hotel there is no lift). read more

We had a standard room without a balcony / terrace with a view of the mountains. Were satisfied, since we almost were out every day. If you spend most of your time in the hotel is, you should a room with a terrace or balcony rent. In the room is everything you need, double bed, small tv, mini bar, desk, chest of drawers, built-in cupboard with curtain, air conditioning and a safe. In the bathroom there are shower, washbasin, toilet and bidet.

There is a beautiful restaurant, a bar in the hotel and a bar by the pool. What breakfast was for Italian standards good. There were 2-3 types of sausage, a sort of cheese, scrambled egg, muesli, rolls and bread, as well as fruits and sweet pastry, juice and two great espresso machines. The dinner menu was for breakfast ( menu with several choices) selected. It was a four course -menu and salad buffet and always very tasty, we were pleasantly surprised. Every thursday there is a sardinian evening, the beautiful weather in the open take place, with music, red wine and suckling pig on open fire grill. The beverage prices are moderate (1 bottle of S. pellegrino 2,50 Euro, 1 bottle of wine 10.- Euro in the whole complex). It is all about the room usage, if you tip like you extra do.

    5.0

At the front desk there is a lot of effort and some speak German, but with English one gets ahead. In the restaurant is almost exclusively Italian spoken ( a few words in German or English were understood). The restaurant manager can German (and you have the feeling it is everywhere at the same time). The waiters is young and accommodating, the order was a breeze. With complaints definitely ensure, that because of the language barrier also be properly understood, otherwise it can take a long time (it is polite smile or nodded, but not understand what you want). A broken hair dryer was immediately repaired, while the repair of a broken toilet flush a day took (that was probably due to the communication).

The small pool is very nice located between rocks and olive trees, there are enough sunbeds, tables and umbrella available, large pool towels you get by the pool. The pool was clean however the water was fresh. Nearby the pools there was a ping pong table and a Kicker ( free of charge ), otherwise are on the hotel two tennis courts. At the bathing beach Rena Bianca ( to the shuttle bus drives) can chairs and umbrellas rent. There is also the possibility free sun screen in the hotel to borrow.

The hotel lies rather lonely on a mountain in a well-kept complex. The beach is about kilometers away and very nice (white sand and crystal-clear water). There is a free shuttle bus several times a day to the beach. A rental car is recommendable if you Costa Smeralda want to discover. Almost all hotel guests travel by car and there were enough free parking spaces at the hotel. The weekly market on thursday In sant pantaleo is recommendable ( crafts and products from in the area). You can go shopping in several supermarkets in arzachena about kilometers away. It is in the hotel a daytrip by boat were offered to the maddalenen islands with beach holiday in two beaches. This is very recommendable ( per person 30.- Euro)

Very sardisch decorated. Individually painted picture opposite from the bed and otherwise many beautiful details. Bath getting a bit old, relatively small, but as everywhere in Italy with bidet. Standard room also nothing special large. Before, we were in a three-star hotel. There were bathroom and room bigger. Review of room land side without balcony or terrace

Here in our opinion within a year some of the negatives. In September we were 2011 and now in September 2012 each 4 days there. The staff has been completely replaced. The coffee is for breakfast in self-service from the wmf machines, almost always was from two automats a not to use: time was missing milk, time coffee, times water, then error messages and only belatedly reacted, what to lines at the machine led. Also the fruit juices were no good quality. We booked half board. For breakfast you had to select and tick, what you evenings wanted to eat. The dinner was served, the salad respectively antipasti was in selbstbediendung. We can say, that the quality of the dishes within a year but clearly neglected has, presumably through new people in the kitchen. The desserts were often not enjoyable. Tiramisu ordered, frozen braided cream get.

The pool is exceptionally beautiful in the rocks. We are to the beach down. The is at the Costa Smeralda of course for sardinian standards very busy. We have ourselves after our empty beaches in the ogliastra longed for. Tennis is possible. Two tennis courts are there.

The hotel makes from afar, it is already a very impressive impression and blends perfectly into the sardinian landscape. The architectural style is the smallest detail effectively. As booked a room with a balcony and a view of the sea and got a great room with large terrace and a partial ocean view, view straight out in the lovely garden. The hotel and the room were always very clean and the cleaning staff worked very carefully. We booked half board: the breakfast was for italian standards quite appropriately. The dinner included a served at the table 4-course menu. Framed was ... the dinner by live piano music. The majority of the guests were 50 +, but that was probably also because of the travel time. The size was quite reasonable. The furnishing is in the sardischen style and quite plain. There was an airco and a ceiling fan. Felt very comfortable. Only point of criticism the small tv with only 4 channels in german.

The breakfast was very high quality and for italian standards quite extensive. It was always immediately refilled. In the evening there were landesypische cuisine. The 4-course menu was served to your table and the drinks are reasonably priced. Only point of criticism: the staff the service is probably understaffed. You are really doing their best-still there is always people, who complain if they on the next course some minutes wait. Perhaps sees the whole thing in the high season a little different.

The staff are continuous very friendly and helpful and tried always to give its best. The staff at reception and some of the waiters even spoke fluent german, the rest was english really good by. The staff at the reception was very competent and you could also umbrellas for the beach borrow. An additional plus is the own reisébetreuerin, which always questions about the area answered and plenty of tips ready. It can also inexpensive a tour desk, where you directly from the hotel pick up.

There are two bars, every evening live music and once a week a sardinian evening. The large garden with big pool is inviting to stay a while. During the day was not much going on, because most on the way are. There is a hourly shuttle to the beach - was not used by us.

The room had its best years behind itself. At the balcony door and also on the wall rieselte the plaster. Everything on the wall hung, was crooked (picture, outlet and sicherungsschrank ). The room seemed not cheerful and inviting, however rather dark and scary. When we other hotel guests from our scuffed toilet seat reported, we got the answer 'ours is torn'. The air conditioning was very cold adjusted and addressed precisely the bed.

The battle at the salad buffet loves, is right at home here. You should exactly at o'clock shows, so that you don't at: o'clock before the leftovers is (beans and chickpeas from the rifle, salatmischung -where you don't know what it is). The staff are totally overwhelmed (4 waiter for about 150 persons). There is all courses gehätzt and it is of course the friendliness on the way. Wine suggestions are zeittechnisch not included. The food even carelessly displayed and overcooked.

The friendliness leaves much to be desired. Already at the front desk you get the feeling only tolerated to be. During the meal you'have only abhetzte waiter. Arrivals was on the telephone surrounded of dust a blond hair, had from the previous one, so that we can't serve. The cleanliness of the pool... We had not entered. Foreign languages skills are available - but very limited.

The hotel is rather three stars area at home. It has a lot of Sardinian flair and less the modern hotels. It is definitely a rental car available to have, because even when the hotel a bus shuttle bus to the beach offers, as there are a plenty of on Sardinia to see, the paradise beaches and bays. And certainly if you know the name of the hotel ' Rocks' means, because just as it is. In other words rather in the mountains; not far by car one of the dream beaches but of course impossible to reach on foot. ... About 5a 12 kilometer are the various beaches away. The staff are very friendly and hard-working every desire and the stay enjoyable. Our room in the 4th floor (no lift) was of normal size, with air-conditioning and safe equipped. Less we enjoyed the counter behind a curtain, which almost as closet serves. As well as the unfortunately very small TV with only ARD, ZDF and RTL as German channels. But OK, not so bad for us. The rooms were as far as clean and always tidy. Breakfast is typically Italian but coffee Cappuccino sausage jams Yogurts cereals scrambled egg and rolls amongst others included. The dinner is à la carte from which one from some dishes can choose. First there is a buffet with antipasti the hardly change but fresh and tasty. With the food we were often positively surprised although not always, matter of taste. Every Thursday there is the Sardinian evening, was very nice variety. The pool was unfortunately no that appealing but from us because of the beaches also no issue. There are also two tennis courts available. Not used by us. During our stay was the guest structure mixed with German, Swiss and Austrians. However is the average age felt about between 55 and 67. We are middle 20. All in all the hotel is recommendable when we admitted the next time a alternative browse. ( a bit more modern hotel) read more

As we 2010 liked so much, we decided again go to this hotel/ fly. Our expectations weren't disappointed. On the contrary: 2010 still evening buffet, we were very pleased with the offers on the menu. Varied and something for everyone there. The staff were, as with the 1. Stay very friendly and helpful. What we didn't like: because of a wedding reception was the pool bar an afternoon not open. Was unfortunately also not advertised. Also the towels would not every day fully be changed. To relax and recreation. This time the roof terrace with the pool chairs was discovered. ... I was unfortunately with the first stay there escaped. Wonderful to evenings still the last sunbeams to enjoy. read more

Hotel in general very good, great food and wines, a lot of variation for the food. Hotel is located on the mountain, without a car one is really difficult, free shuttle bus to the beach ( really beautiful white sandy beach) Room was absolutely bad! On the ground floor with a view of the hotel driveway., despite booked room with a balcony and a view of the sea! The window didn't cigarette butts and had therefore day be kept closed (you could on the ground floor into the room rise). So it was extremely in the room stank (by the ... humidity of the walls, mold in the bathroom) We have the night the window open, only the odor was to be gotten not out. A room changing and also against an extra charge and merhmaligen ask (we could anyway something else booked a room with a had) not possible. In the restaurant a other table (with Steinnummer reserveirten ) was unfortunately only after a Streitgepräch with the restaurant Ladder possible. For a stay of more than 8 days are available from from the hotel a free boat trip on the Costa Smeralda ( GREAT! ) Apart from that with the correct room we were book the hotel again. read more

The nice, somewhat outdated hotel is located on a small hill with beautiful view of the sea. The pool area is gorgeous. A car is of advantage, since the outstandingly beautiful bays of the Costa Smeralda are a bit away. read more

The in the mountains located hotel was typical of the country nestled in in the middle of of typical shrubs and plants, Paths, parking spaces ( partially covered ) easy to reach. Highlights of the Sardinian evening and the offered excursions. On the shuttle bus to the great beach was reliable. Europcar -car to the hotel brought/pick up was from the advantage for more of this great environment to experience. Good value for money. read more

The hotel benefits from great view on the far away sea, without a car goes nothing at all. Free shuttle bus the rather poor beach. The hotel complex is on a mountain and far right impressive from, but a renovation. Room small, closet: space with curtain. Only the ground floor room with a sea view have terrace ( Catalog description fuzzy). Expansive park very well maintained. For the food, in particular in the evening, at the Naturaleinsatz much saved. Taste similar mass caterers. read more

Positive: Great hotel in really beautiful location, top of the rock between olive trees embedded with a view of the sea. Absolute recommendation however rental car definitely necessary, since shops, bars, etc. Not nearby are. The Sardinian evening was a highlight for all pig-lovers. Negative: Unfortunately we had only a room without a balcony, unfortunately! The shower needs getting used to, since the showering head feast from the wall and no hose it is. The setting the right water temperature is to kaltnassen challenge. The breakfast was unfortunately quite simply, little variety and no fresh juice. As we would have ... for four stars expected more. The dinner whereas was good. read more

You should always an rental car take, as the traffic connection rather poor. To the beach enough hotel's own shuttle bus-bus, but around the wonderful area to explore you need a car. With rains one was otherwise a bit lost. This small disadvantage overplayed but easily the gorgeous area between the mountains and with a view of the sea. read more

All around very pleasant stay at Rocce Sarde

The hotel is very charming; the location is great (easy to get to and from the airport - easy to get to the beaches - a good jumping off point for destinations in Costa Smeralda) the staff was friendly. The cleanliness of the hotel was quite good. We stayed in a room that had some problems with the drain in the bathroom sink and smelled pretty bad but in the hotel's defense they had just opened for the season a week earlier and I'm not sure they had fixed all the little glitches. When we complained they were very quick ... to try to remedy the problem. We had booked a half-board package. The food was good but not great. The breakfast buffet was good and there was always fresh fruit, different kinds of bread, cheese, salami and/or ham, cereal, tea, coffee, latte, hot chocolate, eggs - hard-boiled and scrambled, yogurt, etc. There was always something good to eat in the morning. If we go back to Rocce Sarde we will probably not take half-board again but rather only breakfast. Dinner was fine but it was so much food and the meal took about an hour and a half. This was strenuous with our three-year-old son. We also ended up not trying any of the restaurants for some other takes on local dishes because we had paid for our meals beforehand and didn't want to "waste our money." The dining room is very nice with a fantastic view down to the Mediterranean. There is however one problem here. When you arrive you get a table and you will have that table for the duration of your stay. So, that means if you get not such a great table you'll be annoyed about it your whole visit. We were lucky and had a great table but I thought about how some of the other guests must have felt. I know I would have asked to be moved right away from some of the tables toward the back, away from the windows and the beautiful view. The guests who were there in May were all German as far as I could tell. The only two languages I heard spoken were Italian and German and the Italian was only staff. Most of the people at reception spoke English, so did the Maître d' at the restaurant but the waiters and waitresses spoke Italian only. It is certainly helpful and appreciated to know how to say "please" and "thank you" in Italian before you go! The guest age ranged from people (almost all couples) in their 30s to in their 70s. There were not many children in May and there was no children's program (however there is one offered in the high season). The hotel seemed to be child friendly. A three year old can try the best of waiters' nerves but all the people who served us were very gracious and accepting of the antics of our young son. read more

The room was just fine inside. The decoration is simple and clean - nothing modern or outstanding but very pleasant. We had a suite with a sofa bed that was all right for our son to sleep on. The terrace that you reached by going out the sliding doors at the back of the room was fantastic. It opened to a lawn and another sprawling view of the Mediterranean. It was very practical with our son to have this room (and not one with a veranda) because we could go outside very easily and look for lizards, etc. without leaving the room.

  • Gastronomy
    4.0

There is one restaurant, one bar in the hotel and one bar / snack bar by the pool. Breakfast is good and there is plenty to choose from. Nothing at dinner was that great. Nothing was bad either. The portions were more than fair. The food was generally Italian or Italian / Sardinian. The dining area is clean. The atmosphere is friendly and other tables are relatively close to you. I enjoyed this because it encouraged talking with other guests but I can also imagine that it might not be desirable for some guests. We tipped every other night or so. I don't know what the other guests did. The tips we left were always 5€ and 10€ for the captain (Maître d'). I do not know what the à la Carte prices were because we booked half board. The drinks were reasonably priced and in line with prices you would pay throughout Europe. A cocktail cost 6€ and a drinkable wine was 20€. Of course they also had bottles that were more expensive.

  • Service
    5.0

The staff is friendly and accommodating. No one had an attitude problem and everyone seemed eager and pleased to help. The staff speaks Italian, some German, some French, and some English as far as I could tell. The room was cleaned every day by a very smiley, happy Italian woman who did a good job and tried her hardest to get the weird, unpleasant smell out of our bathroom (see above). I do not know about additional services because we didn't use any. The complaint about the bathroom was addressed quickly several times but without success. We were not offered a different room but I don't think we would have moved anyhow because the smell wasn't that terrible, it was confined to the bathroom and changing rooms would have been a real pain.

  • Sport & Entertainment
    5.0

I did not swim in the pool (too cold in the beginning of May) but I did go down there to sit and have a coffee at the bar. The pool is nestled into gigantic boulders that are very dramatic. Unfortunately I think they painted the bottom of the pool too blue. It should have been a mellower blue or grey even to be more suited to the natural surroundings. That, however, is purely my subjective aesthetic. I went scuba diving out of a dive shop in Porto Rotondo called Centro Sub. My experience was positive. The shop is about 15 - 20 minutes from the hotel. There are fine looking tennis courts very close to the main hotel. We did not make use of them.

Shopping for groceries can be done at the Billa near Olbia. This is about a 15-minute drive. The beaches are all over the island everywhere. You can drive 5 minutes and get to a beach or 4 hours. The beaches we went to were always approximately 20 minutes away. The next "biggish" city is Olbia (which is where the closest airport is). Other towns and destinations are nearby. Porto Rotondo was a 15-minute drive, Porto Cervo 25. We thought the location was great because it seemed we could get everywhere we wanted to go without a hassle. IMPORTANT: You need to rent or otherwise have a car.

Very scchönes hotel for a stay as a couple or single. The rooms are very clean, the restaurant is excellent and listed in the Michelin leaders. A car is a must because you otherwise only bad on the beach or in other places. The staff is generally very friendly and especially food, the waiters and the staff very much trouble. One guard but Mrs 'R. at the front desk! The lady at front desk was rather rude to guests as manager and is unprofessional as far as concerns/complaints of the guests goes.
