Hotel Staubbach^{(2 stars)}

As already described the hotel and its old furnishings. This applies especially for the price the furniture in the room. In our room the carpet was new, everything else ageing. Should be emphasized, that nothing broken or dirty, but just old, so not bad. Nevertheless of course the comfort cut back, in particular in relation to bathroom and toilet. The shower and toilet were completely obvious once installed have been (see pictures) and very cramped. The washbasin was outside of the bathroom in the room, which surely not everyone thing is. We loved the everything't mind. Especially because of the very pleasant personal atmosphere we felt really good. The cleaning of the rooms was done well.

Offered only breakfast, the reasonable however nothing special was. There was scrambled egg and bacon, boiled eggs, ever 3-4 sorts of cheese or sausage, yoghurt, bircher muesli, local fruit, 2 sorts of juices, bread, croissants and lye pastry. Everything was very good and tidy presented. I would have at least a couple more rolls desired. Coffee is 24 hours on the day in the hotel for the guests free of charge available.

Once you see it, that not all employees the language skills are (see above), then you can the service only as very good. All employees are very friendly and extremely helpful. In the excursion plans helped or the system of lanes said. Every morning for breakfast asked the staff after the welfare of the guests and ask, what has made you for the current day plans. A very personal approach!

The hotel was 1890 built and is located still largely in the original condition. The baedeker -travel guide writes, the hotel should 'carefully restored' have been. This is it really good, since much was not renovated. The hotel and its furnishing are old. Exactly this makes but its special flair and the quaint comfort, who the hotel mark. Although the furnishing old and not up-to-date anymore is, is the whole hotel very clean. We felt very good. The rooms are provided with not a tv. There are in the house a tv lounge and a reading room, the guests is available. Very good was, that in the entire house a express Wi-Fi free of charge available is (if you are at least in relation to the internet up-to-date). What the guest structure subject, so the hotel is and actually the whole region in English guests orientated. The owners of the hotel staubbach are americans with swiss roots. And some employee spoke only English. We were amazed not bad, when we in a hotel in Switzerland in English checked in. But there is also some employee, speak German.

The location is really top: the hotel lies at the few busy main street in lauterbrunnen with direct view of the beautiful staubbach -water fall. Of all rooms on the south and west side you have a view of the water fall. To the train station you go on foot good 8 to 10 minutes Lauterbrunnen is as a location for excursions suitable, as with the wengernalp -train mountain world can be explored. Who further north or even in interlaken experienced have to with the train to lauterbrunnen and where you can change. Restaurants in lauterbrunnen easily reachable on foot.
