- Room
We had our double room with a note "shared bathroom" was a surprise we rented, the more room than a full bathroom with shower, bidet, sink and toilet. Otherwise our standard room was definitely not the largest, but with almost everything you would need for a short stay: two single beds (to a double bed in conjunction), chest of drawers, TV and built-in closet. A minibar wasn't available, the view from the window in the courtyard.
- Gastronomy
The breakfast buffet was set up in the dining room on the first floor. There were coffee, tea and juices both croissants as well as normal bread, several sorts of spreads and a kind of cereal. Big applause, again for a room that only ~30€ per person is a very good choice.
- Service
The front desk is open 24 hours by professional, English speaking reception. There is a small lounge with several daily newspapers and complimentary wireless Internet access throughout the hotel. There is also free towels and shampoos. Just returned in such hotels, rather belongs are, I find something very commendable.

The Residència d'Investigadors is a very new and well maintained city hotel in older building in a central location in Barcelona.
- Location
The hotel is located on c/hospital, a side street west of La Rambla. From the Plaça de Catalunya it took us about 10 minutes to the hotel, that on the right side of the street. At the crossroads of the c/hospital with the La Rambla is right the Mercat de la Boqueria and metro station "Liceu". There were enough to shopping, there is across several small grocery stores, but they are very expensive. A Driving directions by car, should find it hard to make the street is not only very tight, but it also has no only parking.
