The hotel lies far off the beaten path in the hills around Kandy, on foot in the city center about 15 minutes, on the way back up the hill is a small trains almost essential (150 rupies). Mostly booked by tour groups, the möglicherweiese cheaper tariffs received, $140 for the room when Selbstbuchung is definitely too expensive.
The rooms are altogether musty and neglected, a horror are particularly room under the area of the restaurant, there until late at night and early in the morning in the morning considerable noise with sesselrücken, Büfettaufbau etc.
The breakfast is OK, the offered ... dinner has not been consumed, since almost exclusively European kitchen and in the proportion to city -restaurants very expensive.
The only thing nearby lying restaurant ' Senani ' is also at all not recommendable, European dishes too difficult overpriced prices, even the few offered local dishes are about 5 times more expensive than in the town.

great hotel, with very nice, helpful staff. The rooms were big enough and mordernly decorated, everything was in a clean condition and was clean. During one tour for 1 night in this hotel and we were thrilled.
staff are very friendly and helpful.
the size of the room more than enough -had a view of the'jungle'-looked very quaint at evening!
during the large feast in Kandy there, which we first arrived at half are 12 home. The hotel has specially for us and other couples the buffet set left-and we had a full selection of the buffet! GREAT! read more

In Sri Lanka must be made in advance, in the South West and the West, to Kandy a lot Tourism prevails. If you want more luxurious and want to have hardly occupied hotels, should north.
but now to the hotel: I have from my hotel in bentota (beruwela) 2-A day tour with a small train Drivers of our hotel (name: U. B. or extremely Ruby) and were put up here in the serene garden hotel in Kandy. Our hotel in bentota was a three star hotel, but I have to say, that it was better than the serene garden.
the ... selection at the buffet our room was 3 times greater than in the serene garden and there was always original locals courts and plenty of fruit. All of this could the serene garden hotel not offer. Also the bathroom the serene garden was very small. Large problem in Sri Lanka: in the humidity. Our hotel was only 2 small Spots in the bathroom, humidity or week mold available was, but in the serene garden a 2 meter large Mark with mold in the room. If this is healthy, even up to a period of 2 weeks or 1 is questionable.
all together I must say, that it for a trip as it was for us absolutely OK is however for a 1 or 2 week vacation, it is better hotels. read more

Were in the framework of the tour a night in the hotel. It is really very clean and apart from the usual grumpy odor the turn on the air conditioning disappear forever, does not exist to beach were. New and great bathroom, modern TV and very good 4 courses menu at the evening in the really everything was tasty and the European taste was (which on a tour not bad; because stomach problems can be used as we didn't).
