We had a wonderful vacation avanti hotel. The staff is unbelievably friendly (as everywhere on Sri Lanka), it is very clean and breakfast and dinner (we had the half board) were very varied, rich and one had a wide selection. There was every evening a live appearance of various musicians. Great hotel! read more

Extensive small/medium quiet hotel right next to beach. On the premises can the guests from the way to go if you want peace. Guests are rather aged 45 +. There is but also young couples. Hardly any children. A few cautious traders on very nice sandy beach. Half-board is completely sufficient. A restaurant for breakfast and dinner (lunch at a charge). Drinks extra payment-price as in Germany. 2. restaurant and a drink bar nearby the pool. Large lawns under palm trees. Enough chairs available. No couches stress. No büfettstress. No excessive occupancy with a certain Nation - therefore no nationenstress. ... Guests stay between a night and 2 weeks. Hardly long term guests. Suitable for strollers newly renovated. read more

    We had a standard room and were very satisfied. Modern tv with information and current inspection the bill. Bathroom with hair dryer and a large shower (with regenfunktion ). Air conditioning ok. - could be a bit quieter. Ka but we in the night not used. Telephone available. Big plus was the good working free wi-fi for the internet. The train station don't mind the peace and quiet especially in the morning when the first trains run. But there are not very many trains per day.

    There is a restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Lunch at a charge, what we however didn't use. There are a restaurant on the premises, which we but also not visited since the offer outside of the hotel very varied and for each purse somewhat thereby is. In addition there is a bar nearby the pool (drinks and snacks) Breakfast and dinner adequate and diverse. There is a Sri Lanka corner at the buffet, the sharp dishes. Otherwise also for the normalesser adequate catered for. Food is always a matter of taste. Us it tasted very good. Kitchen also the origin of the publicum. Meals were always fresh and sufficiently available. There is no battle at the buffet.

    The staff from the front desk on the service to the security guard very friendly and courteous. Small tips are always welcome. Man speaks english, german, spanish and french. Italian we didn't hear since this time no italians in the hotel were. Mix is internationally mixed. (no 'russian invasion'). The few russians which we in the hotel met were all very friendly and cultivated. Since we had no complaints, we can say nothing to handling. Wishes (for example how does the tv) were immediately fulfilled.

    The hotel is not for friends from party and entertainment. It is a typical one. Average age is accordingly. It were but also young couples in the hotel. For children is a longer stay rather boring. Table tennis table and a fitness room are available. There is a large spa which we didn't make use of. Chairs are sufficiently in the extensive park-like area available. There are two pools. The picture in the catalog is not up to date and probably comes from the time before the tsunami. The original is better than the katalogbild.

    Drive from the airport depending on traffic 3 hours (in the morning, prior) and 1.5 h (4:30 a. m. in the morning, check out), Bentota is 5... 10 minutes on foot or tuk tuk distance. Bentota is a long pulled place. Souvenirs, drinks, clothes, spices are in the place everywhere for gotten. Great pharmacy in the ointments and tinctures to the part. Even be mixed. Restaurants are on foot or tuk tuk easy to reach. Seafood restaurants. Train station right next to hotel. Train ride to galle is very recommendable( about 100 rupees/person). Desk absolutely book on location. Is worthwhile not at home. We booked with shiran ( shiran tours at the beach directly in front the hotel) all our excursions. Very individually, inexpensive and with very good quality. Can only be recommended. Who more to know, you can write. A sun less because of the train station near the hotel. Otherwise very good.

Smaller hotel, we appreciate 60 rooms, complete plant new and 4-5 stars, wi-fi internet access included, mixed guest structure, some with longer stay, some only 2 days, europär and asians, some german. Behind the hotel past driving train didn't bother us. read more

    We had a deluxe room and felt good, 50 square meter, coffee maker and a large bathroom, great location and a private terrace with roof. Top! The location the suites is not everyone's thing, the one should carefully.

    Main restaurant breakfast and dinner both not 5 star standard but sufficient. Specialty restaurant frangipani cooks now thai and that was very good, have twice well, prices were ok. The bar has sandwiches, good quality, cocktails alright. We were glad, also three times outside eating.

    Room cleaning was great, front desk different but all tried very hard, specialty restaurant great, bar prima apart from you constantly typed wrong and wrong documents signed, service in the main restaurant especially in the morning not convincing. In the evening we were only there once.

    Enough chairs on the lawn at the beach and at the pool, tip helps enormously the necessary cushions and towels. If you wanted to buy something, can prima to the shore line put, if you don't buy or book you should not do ☺. The lawn donates thanks palm trees much shade. The small pool is directly at the restaurant.

The hotel avani was in december 2011 (before hotel serendib) after fundamental renovation newly opened. During my stay the beginning of 2012 was all great and without any reason to the complaint. Now after exactly one year one sees however already some alterungsspuren and wear phenomena. In the bathroom was during my 2 weeks vacation a lamp didn't work, a further in the corridor and a further in the bedroom. In the bathroom is already again feuchtigkeitsbedingter mold. This was after my instruction immediately scheme about pinselt, but that is naturally no real solution of the problem. The room -service ... really makes an effort. Nevertheless you have some cobwebs in the corners can live and also with the fact, that during of the vacation also nothing has changed. The hand towels were even know, are now but partly already very moldy. After the instruction in addition, there were again white towels. The for the pool and the loungers responsible employees apply early in the morning against a small tip like the reservation of the lying areas. Makes it unfortunately from time to time to mallorcaähnlichen proportions. As an early riser you can shortly after 8 from the breakfast to the pool and it is everything occupied, although no only guest can be seen. Unfortunately the reservers partially only at noon by the pool and block so unnecessary the places. That must not be. Summarizing the avani nevertheless a very good hotel with a very accommodating staff and dedicated management. The food and the complex itself are very good and maintained and is certainly the top -addresses in bentota. Only stars and thus the highest standard in my opinion and not appropriate. read more

We had good, versatile and great holiday. Since we not the typical all-inclusive visitors were, did the bed and breakfast in this hotel brilliant. If we wanted to, we could also in the hotel food, a la carte (was very good) or buffet, but mostly we went somewhere outside something to eat. In the evening it is also good with the small trains on the way. The two pools were very clean and the sea really right in front of the door (very clean beach). The only small drawback (or advantage) was, that the beachboys or seller/inside very close to ... the border to the hotel from the beach come and depending on where one had one's pool chair had, you could be disturbed. Nevertheless i can only recommend the hotel, especially also the massages, which are offered. read more

Nice hotel for those, the ' installations' not so very like, good distance to the beach. Somewhat derogatory, but as everywhere, close proximity to railway line, however at night no traffic. Unfortunately the towels and the bed linen evil after halitosis smelly! First on the penultimate day stepped here unexpectedly improvement a! The breakfast buffet was pathetic and monotony cannot be beat, as it is every day the same dishes. Apart from these two points, the hotel and the staff but super, and than pure badeurlaubsziel and package very recommendable! read more

    We have a superior room and compared with other asienreisen was this room big a could have got regular room. Equipped very good and functional, lots of possibilities to keep. Unfortunately we were ill and as cause has at the end of our stay turned out, that the wall behind the bed totally verschimmelt. Air conditioning system not adjustable-we turned off.

    The first question was always after the room number, sometimes we were 3 times asked before we a drink could order. Coffee not drinkable-the plärre was beyond description. Food-well-fish not edible. Meat tough. Chicken was edible but only small parts, the chest was in the speciality restaurant sold at. I have three kilograms-see that i positively! Cleanliness and hygiene were okay. We have 2 times wine ordered, that ran every time right from: we order to show a wine circa 20 Euro. The is not available but the cheaper there. Ok right. Calculation comes: the wine costs 40 Euro. The first time we have not said, with the 2 time complained. The waiter was really angry and said this was service charge (10%). Back and forth - we sign the bill and want the guestmanager speak. On the next day, coincidentally a delegation of the hotel and asked the guests to satisfaction-we take our complaint to. You promised us a discount (!) , what the bill you on tv queries can (we knew not to us that someone said) twice increased. On request told us that was a mistake of itmanagers, the is however now on holiday and we are not only. Finally, we have for a bottle of wine the price after card. A tip: always the bill before signature control, we have often not made (also often difficult, as somewhat dim lighting) and then the neighbor table paid, because we had to itself the room number draufschreiben and thus was committed.

    Friendliness is unfortunately, not an issue, i think this is a question of the tips. We always made, that we tip at the end of the vacation at friendly staff offered, the is in avani really bad. It is even 3 times happened that us the cleaning staff until to the pool nachlief and attention made, that person now 2 days is not there (...) Nobody bothered us something explained, travel agency was not available. In case of any problems it is difficult to find someone who could speak english. Complaints were well received, however not once a 'sorry'. The bed sheets were again and again twisted so the klettverschlüssen not in the foot, but that went through. The pool towels were only in the course of the mornings were changed-there was one already again by the pool and you need it. So we were 14 days the same towel, because in the cabin in which you you could change you got partially used (!). Shower gel and shampoo were only in case of a complaint replaced. Conditioner was only on the 3. day there, and was also not being replaced. The pins against mosquitoes was always only on request filled. Coffee after discretion refilled, but withdrawals from the minibar were credited not consumed were. Wake-up calls didn't work, pack (for trip booked) was not available.

    The trip to the hotel took almost 4 hours. Although you can nearby shopping but the prices (except supermarket) will be the appearance of the tourists adapted, so it happened, that we triple the price in liquerstore paid as at the airport. Restaurants as mentioned outrageous prices. The hotel lies directly at the line and if you at night sleep bad (mosquitoes) you can hear regularly from the train. The sea has sometimes extremely strong currents, but always the red flag was blowing one did not know when it was dangerous.

Bed sheets in 2 weeks not at all changed, fresh towels and shower gel/shampoo we had to several times afterwards run. Apart from that the hotel was but clean/friendly/helpful. For the food there could be more local dishes give. Evenings nothing is going on, you had to know that. Who nightlife expected should go elsewhere, because the nearby place has from 18 o'clock nothing more to offer. Excursions definitely with shiran at the beach book. He speaks very good german, is totally reliable and punctual. The excursions are individually the wishes adjusted. Just say, what one to see wants- shiran ... makes it possible. Recommendable the bentota river cruise and the 2 day trip in the yala national park, where we even leopards have seen. Simply great and shiran is the absolute right guide! read more

Very fine sandy beach, sunbed area in the garden deferred against strandverkehr. Small eisenbahnbeeinträchigung. Service in the bar area much in need of improvement (long waiting periods, new year's eve about 1 hour for the ordered a bottle of wine-unreasonable!). Food and drinks very attractive, as well as cleanliness. Recommendable! read more

We have already been for the 3. time in the same hotel (before the renovation it was called serendib). The rooms are very stylish and very well furnished - large bathroom with walk-in shower, tv with a large selection of dvds and important very comfortable beds. The staff are willing to help and very friendly, all speak a good english and even german. The hotel is directly at the clean beach. Into the water you can have no hesitation, no spiky stones, jellyfish. Excursions you shouldn't with the travel guide make, but simply the beachboys at the beach address. The ... best talk your botha and lasantha to both very friendly are. Very good Seafood there were rastha (i believe the restaurant means sea and sun). read more

    We had a double room on the 3. floor, which big enough was. Also the bathroom was very big and in terms of the facilities with all what you need mistake. To the room had a covered balcony on which one, with occasional showers, tea or drink a coffee could. The design of the room corresponds to the standard of the hotel. The double bed is a good size and also the mattress was very good. The safe is inclusive exactly like soluble coffee and dte for the own preparation. There is a large flat screen tv the not only the television can be used. You can relax on its own invoices inform, show messages allow, weather forecasts getting and artsy to certain issues regarding. The rooms were cleaned daily and the changing of towels took place every day. In the evening the bottles of water replenished and a strip to insektenvertreibung in the existing device installed.     The ' avani' is bentota from the beach and the gleisanlage, you can every train hear. The neighboring hotels are the 'bentota beach' and the 'the surf', the latter was not open yet. The hotel is co nnected by taxi or tuc tuc distance. In the more immediate vicinity there are several shops, restaurants, a bank, a post and a tourist information.

October is at the end of the monsoon and not the ideal travel time for swimming in the sea, due to strong stroemung. Although the railways directly behind the hotel runs, it would not be so strong disturb, if not the eternal honking would be! Seems to be a local and habit of all drivers, both car as train. The avani spa offers a beautiful selection of treatments. The staff ( partly from Thailand) is friendly and competent. The massages are very good. The food in the main restaurant is in buffet form. The choice is ok. In the à-la-carte ... - restaurant frangipani is very attentive service and the food tastes excellent. Here there is also home-made ice creams. read more

The avani has all exceeded our expectations. Everything was exactly like it on the internet described. The whole staff was very friendly and always cooperative. The food was very diverse, more delicious and always freshly. Nevertheless, that the hotel always was fully booked, it was never crowded, as the complex is very extensive. We had two superior room, the spacious and decorated up to date are with a view of the sea. The entire area was cleaned regularly. There is a computer room free internet.     The staff is always friendly, helpful and made us, and our boys (10 and 13 years) every wish from our eyes. Nearly everyone could speak german but with english you definitely got further. Even special wishes were fulfilled. On the dealing with complaints we can't say anything, we had none.

    Directly at the beach, about 90 kilometers away from Colombo. On foot you can in the next place alutgama an easy walk. There is many great restaurants and shops there. In front of the hotel there is a line, but in no way disturbing.
