We were a bit disappointed. Five star ( in Suisse) since we put us other before. It wasn't bad but for the price ( no matter wether room, breakfast, restaurant or spa) it was just not reasonable. The staff were professional friendly and the check in as out was easy, it was even possible already rather the room to obtain (we had however call requested and around the possibility asked ).
The room was small but for people on business trip oK only the bathroom was extremely small and unfortunately no worth 5 stars ( see photos). The hotel bar ... ( terrace) is beautiful, the restaurant nothing special the ambiance. The food knock a reasonably priced from the stools. We have breakfast ( buffet) and evenings in the restaurant eaten. The breakfast was carelessly with selection but the you could certainly also in a three star hotel get and for the price almost annoying.
The greeting from of the kitchen ( evenings) consisted of old rolls (at least tasted this so) and frozen butter. The food fast, competent and friendly served.
The spa area. Well, not bad but small and the hospital rather improvised. In the pool we were not swimming - sauna and HAMMAM (relatively new (was very high quality) are for men and women separately there were towels in my opinion not enough (was slack the shelve refill or are strictly rationed (?!?). Fitness room is small but well equipped. read more

Hotel is from the outside not the newest, but the lobby was clean and nicely decorated. From there, you had the view over lake Geneva.
the reception was very friendly and the room was quick. No parking in the underground car park. There were immediately Tickets for the duration of the stay surrendered, without on it had to be made. read more

The rooms to the sea side are very quiet and with a fantastic view. The equipment of the rooms are good. The rooms to the street side are loud, too noisy for a 5-star hotel and for the rate offered. Breakfast in the breakfast room is wide and well. The wellness area is relatively small and modest, the indoor swimming pool available, but a bit small. The fitness area didn't deserve its name, the Council ought to be expanded and devices are fitted with decent. read more

The size of the guest room is really too small for two. The environment is nice, though. Probably some renovations and rearrangements of the rooms are necessary, otherwise I would expect something better for a so-called 5-star hotel. read more

Five stars are the beautiful location on the lake and had a really decent park-like surroundings with well-kept grounds owed. The hotel is built in the style of the savings banks architecture exudes the 70er years from the Charme. The very small standard room in the lower floors are exposed from noise. With the windows closed you need the air conditioning is not much quieter. Lake View cost (and elsewhere) extra charge. The plumbing was getting old and partly broken. Black mold in the joints just didn't match the overbuilt marble and granite. All in all, it was a mixed ... experience. read more

Five stars hotel, because you would expect!
no hair dryer (I still have not received a reply from the concierge, so much for the service and handling of complaints, very small room)
Everything costs extra, parking, breakfast, ...
Front desk: would have been nice if someone German, unfriendly, not helpful read more

I stayed several times at the Royal Plaza in Montreux for leisure and business and always had a fantastic stay. Last time, I spent 1 night with my girlfriend. We booked a deluxe room by phone (it was a late booking) and had a 10 % discount! The room was beautifully, quiet and comfortably furnished and the view was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and large. The amenities of the bathroom are from a good quality.
The only bad point is that the hotel surcharge the WIFI even if a free wired connection is available in the room.
Staff ... in general is efficient, they really go an extra step to make sure you have a wonderful stay. Check-in and Check-out was smooth. The breakfast is enormous, we especially enjoyed the great selection of fruits. We had a romantic dinner, facing the lake on the terrace of the Café Bellagio, the gourmet restaurant of the hotel. We paricularly enjoyed the live piano background. The food was tasty and well presented, served by a professional staff.
What we particularly enjoyed was the spa. The entrance doesn’t seem impressive but once you get in, you find a small but luxury spa with all the facilities and a wide range of treatments. My girlfriend and I had massages and beauty treatments, thanks to Doris who did an excellent job. It’s a hotel that I definitively recommend in Montreux. read more
