A place travelers can visit Wat Rong Khun Temple
Reviews: Wat Rong Khun Temple
General description: Wat Rong Khun TempleWat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple, is located about 15 kilometers from the city of Chiang Rai in Thailand. It is quite peculiar temple, Buddhist and Hindu at the same time, designed by artist Chalermchai Kostpipat.
Construction of the temple began in 1997, but its completion date is not exactly known. The building consists entirely of white chalk and pieces of mirrors that in the sun create amazing light show. Appearance of the temple makes a huge impression on tourists, in contrast to nearby residents, according to whom it should be covered with vivid color, like most buildings of this type in Thailand.
Wat Rong Khun is available to the public from 8:00am to 6:00pm. The entrance to the temple is free. You can get there by buses No. 1241, 1244 and 1246.
