General description: Castle MeersburgCastle Meersburg is located in the German town of the same name, on Lake Constance, amid mountain scenery, town houses and steep streets.
The castle was built in the seventh century and is considered to be the oldest inhabited castle in Germany. To this day, only a few remnants of the ancient buildings have been preserved. The places available for visitors include 30 rooms with antique devices, including a kitchen equipped with old appliances, or a collection of armor and weapons.
A bridge built over the moat leads to the castle. In the past, the building was the seat of the Bishops of Konstanz. Visiting the castle is possible after buying the ticket from dressed in medieval costume guard. On site, visitors can purchase souvenirs.
