Reviews: Jameos del Agua Cesar Manrique Caves and Pool
General description: Jameos del Agua Cesar Manrique Caves and PoolOne of the most interesting passageways of connecting caves and underground grottoes in the world, lies to the north of Lanzarote, at the foot of the volcano Monte de la Corona which erupted around 3,000 years ago.
A jameo is formed when a tunnel ceiling collapses, which most often occurs when its width exceeds twenty meters, or when gases accumulate and explode.
The Lanzarote-born artist César Manrique has helpedto create this spectacle, where these natural 'jameos' have been turned into an Auditorium, Swimming pool, Gardens and Restaurants, while still blending into the surrounding volcanic landscape.
