General description: Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park, situated in Loitoktok District, Rift Valley Province of Kenya, has a surface of 392 square kilometres. The park provides wonderful views on Kilimanjaro, the highest summit of
Africa, and the world’s highest free-standing mountain. In the Amboseli there are also many elephants (some of Africa’s biggest), which is one of the reasons of its popularity. You will also have a
chance of meeting the Maasai people there. Actually, the name of the park is derived from the word “empusel”, which in their language means “salty dust” (the area is in fact dusty).
