A place travelers can visit Vesuvius Volcano
Reviews: Vesuvius Volcano
General description: Vesuvius VolcanoMount Vesuvius is the famous volcano which buried Pompeii back in 79 A.D. It is still active and is seen as the most dangerous volcano in the world because 3 million people live within it's vincinity. Vesuvius last erupted during WWII in 1944.
As the volcano is still active you can see the rising fumes from the crater. A not so regular bus service or a private taki will take you up the first part of the mountain but the last 500m are a steep uphill climb on foot or with a mountain bike.
Taxis will cost around €10 one way from Herculaneum
Bus from Pompeii return €8.70
