General description: Sirkeci Train Station

Founded in 1890 by the sultan Abdulaziz, the Sirkeci Station in Istanbul is the main Turkish railway station, located on the European side of the city, in the District of the same name, which is part of the District of Eminönü.

Here, trains move mainly to Greece, Bulgaria and Romania. Formerly, Sirkeci railway station was the terminus of the legendary Orient Express train, linking Paris with Istanbul.

What is interesting is that the passengers of the train station have the possibility to admire the famous Whirling Dervishes, who gather each Wednesday at 19:30.
