A place travelers can visit Rock Tombs Dalyan
Reviews: Rock Tombs Dalyan
General description: Rock Tombs DalyanDalyan is a town located on the south – west coast of Turkey, where Dalyan river meets Aegean Sea. One of the greatest advantages of the area is Itzuzu Beach with easily accessible turtle farm. When it comes to historical attractions, travelers can find in Dalyan a unique group of tombs forged in nearby rocks.
Rock tombs appeared about 4th century BC along the river of Dalyan. Their appearance imitates Hellenistic architecture of ancient times. From boat or ship travelers are invited to observe 6 tombs of different size and shape. Those places of eternal rest of unknown inhabitants are properly illuminated so it is possible to watch them in the night.
To reach the rock tombs, visitors may travel by boat by the river or reach the tombs on foot. However, the second option is rather dangerous and banned. From this place it is quite close to the city of Caunos. If hungry or tired, visit some local restaurants at the end of a boat trip.
