General description: Maremma Extensive Area
Maremma is a big area in southern Tuscany, comprised between the provinces of Grosseto and Livorno. First of all, it is a very interesting area historically. The Etruscans, followed by the Romans,
dwelled here, which left numerous artifacts of their era (and also the Etruscan towns of Roselle and Populonia). During the Middle Ages, many typical buildings of the era were erected there.
Secondly, it is impressive in the terms of landscape, featuring beautiful sandy beaches, hills and flatlands. Also, the area boasts with a variety of local products.
