1628 sank the stately Royal warship VASA for a Konstruktionsfehlers at its maiden voyage in Stockholm port. Until 1961 was rescued it very difficult, carefully preserved and restored. Is an experience the museum already at arrival: in a massive hall rose the imposing warship from the darkness in three galleries, the original body of the VASA surrounded, a variety of exciting exhibitions with very many exhibits on story the VASA to see.
333 years was the Royal warship on the bottom before Stockholm, it is in the museum.

This museum houses a huge ship that sank on her maiden voyage in the 17th century. It is almost fully intact. The admission is a bit pricey. Apart from the ship and its history, there are of course other moments from the history of Sweden and other Nordic countries. Read more

It is different… All about one sank sailing ship from 17th century. This is real ship taken back from underwater, restored and placed in the museum for public. Pretty amazing, to see real ship from that times, and be able to focus on all workmanship details. But this museum is not only ship, is all around this ship, bit of war history, people living that times, sailors… bodies found on this ship. Great escape from city sightseeing. Read more
