Personal data is data that refers to user’s identity such as name, address and phone number. HolidayCheck AG ensures compliance with applicable data protection laws and guidelines.
HolidayCheck AG adheres to the principle of avoiding collection and reception of personal data as far as possible. Personal data and sensitive data such as bank account numbers and related information is transmitted encoded via SSL-Technology (at least 128 Bit.)
HolidayCheck AG draws attention to the fact that personal and also sensitive data that users make available to HolidayCheck AG will only be used as far as indispensable for establishment, organization, maintenance and also modification and termination of the respective contractual relationship. So in particular personal and also sensitive data is generally only collected, stored and processed as far and as long it is necessary to fulfil user requests.
Furthermore HolidayCheck AG collects data about user transactions with HolidayCheck AG. This includes automatic collection, storage and processing of such data in log files from the browser of any user. This usually includes the browser type that is used, the IP- address and the date and time of day. Such data is needed to provide the service and is furthermore solely used for statistics. Personal data and such data are not brought together.
For being able to fulfill user requests HolidayCheck AG transmits personal data to third parties in correspondence to applicable laws or in consent with approval of the user. The relevant third parties are also bound by applicable laws for data protection.
This particularly means transmission of personal data to travel agencies/ related service institutions in case of a contract concerning placement of bookings for tourist services.
In any other case HolidayCheck AG will only forward personal data if stipulated by law, governmental request or court decision. This especially includes criminal prosecution. Furthermore, in case it is necessary to establish and/or exercise legal rights or/and defend against legal claims. Finally in case it is necessary to prevent or stop abusive or illegal use of HolidayCheck AG`s Services and these web pages, in particular violation of the Terms of Service.
Personal data collected on these web pages may be stored and processed in Switzerland, Germany or any other country in which HolidayCheck AG maintains facilities. By using any parts of these web pages that require personal data, the user consents to such transfer.

HolidayCheck AG does not use personal and further data to customize advertising.
By making available personal data to HolidayCheck AG the user is consenting with this data protection policy. The user particularly consents to his member name and his pseudonym being made available, in case he has given a travel report or uploaded a picture also to his travel reports and pictures being made available to other users of these web pages.
A user may apply for insight in his personal data that is stored on the server of HolidayCheck AG under dataprotection@holidaycheck.com. In general this is allowed free of charge, in rare cases this may be charged with CHF 300 at the maximum, in case unusually high expenses are caused.
HolidayCheck uses third party AdServer for deliverance of advertisements, which are published on these web pages. Those third parties may leave cookies on the Computers/data processing units of the user. Cookies are files that are automatically saved on the hard disk of the computer/data processing unit in order to recognize this computer/data processing unit more easily the next time the user visits the relevant web page and therefore building up pages faster. So communication between server and computer/data processing unit is improved. If preferred the browser can be reset so that it refuses all cookies, or notifies the user when a cookie is being sent.
