General InformationBased on area it is the largest state in the USA, however is the least densely populated. It is separated from the rest of the USA by Canada. Its capital city is Anchorage and most of the population lives here.
Climate
The southern part of the state has an oceanic climate but it is much colder in the north where there is a subarctic oceanic climate. Anchorage receives about 75 inches of snow per year but this increases greatly in the northern part of the state. In the winter the temperature can fall as low as -52 degrees. Snow that falls in the winter tends to last for the whole year.
Language
Just over 5% of the population speak one of the 22 indigenous languages. Whereas over 84% speak English as their first language.
Religion
Alaska is known as one of the least religious states in the USA with only 39% confessing to being a member of a religious organization.

The hotel was mainly visited by bus groups. Only a few individuals. Lobby with restaurant and shop, sitting areas in the two-storied Barackenstil. We were given a bathroom rather small rooms to the inner courtyard where we didn't feel welcome and actually only usable for sleeping. Bad room decor with 2 beds, Garderobenstange, bathroom. Wi-Fi internet connection in the lobby at no charge. Restaurant for breakfast and dinner available, quality was okay, rates as almost everywhere in Alaska quit... Read more

Camelot cottages - Traumpfade - in the middle of a forest and not too far from Seward - at Kenai fjord-sightseeing National Park, Alaska. We had booked the 'chalet', the room for 6 people and very spacious, well equipped - a real 'log home', but with every comfort you could want for your stay. I asked why the owners didn't get there ourselves stayed. Each cabin in front of each cottage and a barbeque - Seward is a great spot for fishing ...
