General InformationBased on area it is the largest state in the USA, however is the least densely populated. It is separated from the rest of the USA by Canada. Its capital city is Anchorage and most of the population lives here.
Climate
The southern part of the state has an oceanic climate but it is much colder in the north where there is a subarctic oceanic climate. Anchorage receives about 75 inches of snow per year but this increases greatly in the northern part of the state. In the winter the temperature can fall as low as -52 degrees. Snow that falls in the winter tends to last for the whole year.
Language
Just over 5% of the population speak one of the 22 indigenous languages. Whereas over 84% speak English as their first language.
Religion
Alaska is known as one of the least religious states in the USA with only 39% confessing to being a member of a religious organization.

We stayed 4 nights at the "Cabins on the Bluff" and we liked it very much. The cabins sit right on the top of a bluff and you have a fantastic view over the ocean (sunsets). There are 4 cabins owned by Chuck and Julie (best host ever). Each cabin has its own barbecue place in front of the cabins. The cabins are very welcoming with a fully furnished kitchen, big living room, bed room and bath room.
