History
Like all of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote was generated during periods of volcanic eruptions. In 1730 there were major volcanic eruptions on the island of Lanzarote. On 1 September, 32 new volcanoes formed along 18 kilometers. These eruptions occurred between 1731 and 1736. Vulcan lava buried a quarter of the island surface.
In 1768, a drought devastated the island and caused many casualties. Many people migrated to the other Canary Islands or Cuba or America. In 1824 there was another big erruption from the Tiagua Volcano; however this was not as severe as previous eruptions. Timanfaya National Park is home to 25 volcanoes one of which is Montaña de Fuego ( Mountain of fire).

But the hotel staff was very nice and unobtrusive. The dining room has unfortunately a cafeteria character, but the food tastes fantastic, there is a wide choice, a lot will freshly prepared. Unfortunately you through the preparation of food a very ... Read more
