Public Transport
Madrid is also a hub for Spain’s national rail network with plans afoot to build a high speed rail link to connect all of Spain’s major cities, so that no city is more than four hours by rail from Madrid. There is also a local commuter train service and a Madrid Metro, which is second only to the London Underground in terms of miles of track.

Gran Hotel Conde Duque in Madrid, Madrid

the hotel lies for Madrid standards in a quiet side street, no through traffic. With the metro, to the station San Bernardo is only a few minutes, you can the center very good and cheap reach. From the airport you need with the metro about 30 minutes with one change. The room -we had a double room with two beds -was big enough, with two chairs and a table. Several rooms to the inner court. The furniture was flawless, the room clean. Only in the bathroom were the tile joints over the bath stai... Read more

All in all, for the high amount and a four-star hotel in Madrid, moderate service. If one makes vacation and little towns in the hotel really okay. Advantage is the very central location; metro almost directly in front of the hotel. Read more

the hotel lies a bit out of the city centre, but good with the bus line 146 (bus stop directly in front of the hotel) to about 40 minutes bus ride to reach; the highway nearby you can hear almost didn't; the fitness center is very small and the devices (especially the treadmill) you could renew. the rooms are clean and in a good condition, the breakfast buffet is adequate and can 10, or eleven o'clock used to be. My stay in this hotel was very short, only one night, because we had to just spend a night in Madrid between flight. We arrived late and left the hotel early in the morning. We chose this lodging because it was conveniently located in the city center and close to Plaza Cibeles, from where buses run to the airport around the clock. Moreover we booked it with significant discount through one of the booking websites. At hotel`s own website rates were not so attractive. Our rate did not include b... Read more
