My wife and I (from Canada) stayed at Guest House Douro during our honeymoon in 2010. Guest House Douro features modern chic decor and a charming athmosphere in one of Porto's historic buildings along the River Douro. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Guest House Douro and not only would we highly recommend it, but also have already scheduled our next stay with them (in a few months).

Guesthouse Douro was a wonderful 3 night city getaway. Location- easy taxi or walk (depending on how much baggage you have) from train or subway station. Carmen and Joao welcome you as family. Right on the riverfront, walkable to many attractions. Joao creates the most amazing breakfast each morning with fruit and bread. Carmen and Joao are warm, friendly, able to recommend restuarants, historical sites, and wine tasting. Rooms are small but we had a waterfront view that was simply amazing... Read more
