The lodge is placed directly on the river with a stunning view of both sunrise and sunset. The staff is friendly and helpful and you notice, they care for their guests and the place. Getting there is somewhat adventurous because of the last part of the road, but it is all worth while. Excursions easy to do. Also recoomendable for a longer stay. For me the best place throughout the 2-weeks tour we did across Venezuela. Read more

The hotel once was a first class resort, but in the beginning of this century it became bankruptcy. Then it was invaded by homeless people who totaly destroyed the facilitie. Later the resort was expropiated by the goverment, and a program for renovation is started. Today (2010) about 10-15 % of the facilities are renovated and for hire as share apartments.
We stayed with family mambers who had bought an apartment at this ex hotel, and it is rather nice, but the area around is still wounded.

Not expensive, fairly clean and generally good place to stay exept the fact that we were robbed there. We left our motorbike in the guarded garrage over night and when we come at the morning to pack equipment the baggage covers dissapeared. I ask crew but they were extremally helpless, then call a manager but even him didn't help much more. He was calling to employees from his mobile just to show up he is doing something but refused to pay back or give a discount against payment we've made. A... Read more
